Title: Kerps\apex too Slippery
Post by: ziyaad on June 01, 2017, 07:01:10 AM
Hi guys, I find kerbs ect to very slippery and unusable especially when going to apex i will always crash just touching it. Is it just me with setup or ??

Is it just me with setup...

probably this, i would say... :D
it depends, though, try and be more specific - is it only with one bike, or many? which bike/s? which kerbs? of which tracks?
it's easier for us to test it to help check if it's your problem or something else, if we have some specific info to go on...
it's also important to remember that you can't throw these GPB bikes around at crazy angles like with most other arcade bike games (that try to pass themselves off as sims, lol)

Ok i get what you saying but ever since ive played this game i never thought the kerbs was realistic because its like ice but i thought the game was still in development, but by your response it sounds like you dnt see a problem with them. Im a bike "rider/amateur racer" myself (arent we all)  and you can definitely ride on them to a certain degree ofcourse & as we see in real life motogp and sbk they do run on the kerbs especially inside hitting the apex. Dont get me wrong im not attacking anybody just wanna know if im the only one experiencing this then maybe its my bike setup. it happens at all tracks ive played

It depends on the track. Jerez curbs have too much grip while the NC curbs are completely unridable.

Some tracks have kerbs that are not true to scale, especially were the saw-tooth kerbs are concerned. But then again, some kerbs are avoided in real life too, simply because they are too dangerous to use for bikes. So it pays to know the track and which kerbs you can and cannot use.  :)

Also the grip of the kerbs surface depends on what grip factors are set for those surfaces in the bikes .TYRE model too, and how well the tyre model has been designed to handle kerb surfaces, as well as how well the bikes geometry and physics have been applied makes a big difference in how a bike handles kerbs.... Many factors can be involved in how well a bike handles kerb surfaces.  ;)

Shit you need to be a engineer to be competitive in this game, challenging but fun. i need alot more saddle time. :P

not really, maybe a little bit. everything comes from experience, testing different setups (setting by setting), tracks, bikes.
