Title: MASSIVE News is coming Guys!
Post by: Sim UK on June 29, 2017, 12:58:03 PM
Apologies that I cannot tell you exactly what this news is right now (not my news to give) but very soon you will understand why; and the news is EPIC and will mean a lot to ALL of you I promise ;-)

So tonight at 5pm I have a video going up and it might enlighten you as to what the news is but TBH you might have to be very intuitive to figure it out!  I've said to much already....

Please watch it through and show your support where I hope you will see the nudge from me ;-)  Sorry too excited by the potential here to contain myself...

5pm 29th June 2017: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6w636x0DbII

Keep your eyes open to HUGE NEWS here on the forum soon I hope!

I have seen this response from a lot of motogp 17 players "If I want a real sim I go and ride in real life, I want to play a motorcycle game" that's probably a high percentage of them, also didn't Piboso say he would never do AI riders?

Yeah you're not wrong about that quote, I have seen it many times.  I just question how many of them have access to Mugello? lol

That aside Piboso I believe does have something along the lines of an anti AI stance (and to be fair to Milestone AI is extremely tricky) but I was rather thinking along the lines of the MotoGP Championship where there are not any AI riders at all!?!?!  Now I have you thinking lol

The petition in the video description is missing a huge point. It's not Dorna who chooses the developer. It's the developer that goes to Don Carmelo and pays for the license. Dorna doesn't care at all about the quality of the final game.
Also, from what I've been told by a person who deals with licenses, there is no such thing as an "exclusive license", despite what publishers claim. Not even for F1. Just go to the owner with enough money and yadda yadda yadda you have the license.

Thanks for taking the time to comment P. (If I can call you that)

With that in-mind would you consider being part of the MotoGP eSports Championship if there was an opportunity to do so?

Sorry, but for an expert in the MS games and GP Bikes, the video its just bad, bad driving, bad points. I can understand that its a "fake" review for sell more copies of GP Bikes... but I dont like it. (and no, im not a fanboy Milestone)

And the AI is ridicolus? Wrong, its nice and fun also without mods.

And here a my replay with the AI vanilla at the max difficulty, its not a genius, but you can mod the game as you want, the AI lines are right not "strange" or what else.

https://www.youtube.com/v/4Oc28ulspKk

(Vinales is the AI) If for you this is bad or not fun... ok are opinions, but for people that plays this games from Superbike 2001, its a good job  ;)

EDIT: I have something like 50 hours on this game. Not 30 mins  :P

Well I appreciate your honesty, I think it's the best policy, so to retort;

It's not a 'fake review' to promote GPB, absolutely not!  I would never and have never done that.

I believe there is a real opportunity for GPB in relation to the MotoGP eSports championships IMHO, that was my overriding opinion and reason for posting here.

Nice riding...by you, I saw the AI slam into you a good few times there, more than enough to send you flying in real world terms but yeah sure is fun.  I wasn't saying their lines were strange, I was saying they stick to them regardless of you being there or not.

Were you riding 3rd or 1st person?  I like the game in 3rd, cannot stand it in 1st, so I am going to guess you were in 3rd.

The MotoGP bikes, I think I mentioned in the review, are by far the best to ride and I agree this is the best of the MotoGP series to date and can be fun but if you get taken out by a rogue Kamikaze AI rider 1 too many times....I bet your not having as much fun as you seem to be in your video.

Year after year the updates from Milestone are too small and not in the right places in my humble opinion.  You clearly don't appreciate my opinion or my video and that's absolutely fine, but there we have it.

I wanted to highlight an opportunity for MotoGP to have a realistic simulator to use in their eSports arena and GPB could be that option.

Thanks for you honesty Blackheart.

Hi Mike.

I loved your video Mike..... I thought it was interesting, honest and straight to the point and told it how it is; an opinion I would say the majority of MotoGP 2017 customers hold about Milestones MotoGP series of arcade-sims; apart from those who obviously don't appear to know when they are being taken for a ride(Pardon the pun. Lol). ;D :P

Must admit that after reading your first post I'm more interested in the big "EPIC" news that will soon be released..... I'm hoping it will concern GPB somewhat directly and have nothing to do with Milestones MotoGP games at all?   ;) 8)

Hawk.
@BH: If you think that performance in your video will convince anyone to buy MotoGP 2017 then in my opinion I think your sadly mistaken; it's so obvious how poor the physics are, and the total lack of awareness there is by the AI rider.... Very poor in my opinion and has convinced me even more not to contemplate wasting my money on Milestone rubbish. Amazing how much the eye-candy tends to fool some people into thinking a game is good. Lol! :P

Hi Hawk,

Thanks mate, the news is potentially very good indeed and certainly has a lot more to do with GPB and not a lot to do with MS or MotoGP 17.....but I can say no more at this point :-)

Much appreciated.

@Hawk Yeah... you are right im works for Milestone and I want more money! ::)

@Sim UK if for u the Hawk opinion its a good thing, you know nothing about this community  ;D

Anyway I reply to all your points:

Quote"It's not a 'fake review' to promote GPB, absolutely not!  I would never and have never done that. "

Ok, but criticize a game because it is not simulative... MS never created sims.

Quote
I believe there is a real opportunity for GPB in relation to the MotoGP eSports championships IMHO, that was my overriding opinion and reason for posting here.

Now? GP Bikes its a beta, not a full sim ready for
official events, not a single update for months, its impossible join in a champ on this sim, for the bugs (not just the cores but also the jumpstart bug, etc...)

The riders skills here are too different, the difference its huge from a top 10 player and a... "Hawk". In MotoGP also the difference is big but its more easy learn to ride fast.

QuoteNice riding...by you, I saw the AI slam into you a good few times there, more than enough to send you flying in real world terms but yeah sure is fun.  I wasn't saying their lines were strange, I was saying they stick to them regardless of you being there or not.

Never said that its perfect, its good not perfect, a good rider in MotoGP know as the AI works (and not you arent invisible for the AI) and play with it, any expert riders can go more fast in any tracks, I play with the AI because its fun. (for who want AI more fast need just change some values with the editor).
Its not crazy like in the past, yes is very aggressive, but its cool because it try anywhere.

QuoteWere you riding 3rd or 1st person?  I like the game in 3rd, cannot stand it in 1st, so I am going to guess you were in 3rd.

The feeling with the 1p view in MotoGP is not bad, but with 20 AI riders its better use the 3p view for understand where they are. (I play just with MotoGP and Moto2 the other bikes are shit)

QuoteThe MotoGP bikes, I think I mentioned in the review, are by far the best to ride and I agree this is the best of the MotoGP series to date and can be fun but if you get taken out by a rogue Kamikaze AI rider 1 too many times....I bet your not having as much fun as you seem to be in your video.

There are the rewind if there is big mistake or a little AI bug, just push a button, not one need to play this game as a hardcore gamer. (i have phisics pro e max difficulty but the rewinds are enabled, also if the 99% of the times i dont need them)

Anyway nice see someone with real opinions... and not just thing like this; "I never played it because GP Bikes is better...." ;D

In some aspects, GP Bikes is a far superiour game. In others it is not.

You want a sim, GP Bikes (Reguardless of current state, GPB is a simulator. No rewinds or Somtimes Kamakazi AI, Just racing)

You want an "easier" Bike riding game with offical bikes, Moto GP

"Horses for Corses"

Hopefully in the long term GPB will be the choice for an eSport Championship, but at this stage it's not quite the ticket yet, There is no deniying that.

I respect everyone's opinion Blackheart, unless they show disrespect of course.

QuoteOk, but criticize a game because it is not simulative... MS never created sims.
Please explain then why they use terms like;
- Pro Physics
- AI difficulty can be set to Simulation if they are not building (or pretending to build) a simulation?

QuoteNow? GP Bikes its a beta, not a full sim ready for
official events, not a single update for months, its impossible join in a champ on this sim, for the bugs (not just the cores but also the jumpstart bug, etc...)
This year is already wrapped up, but given 12 months of solid dev, yeah for sure GPB could be more than ready IMHO.

QuoteThe riders skills here are too different, the difference its huge from a top 10 player and a... "Hawk". In MotoGP also the difference is big but its more easy learn to ride fast.[/b]
I guess you're just too good, maybe players like you would have a distinct advantage at first, but I bet you if GPB and MotoGP eSports took off your superiority would soon be under jeopardy.  That's just the nature of competition.

QuoteIts not crazy like in the past, yes is very aggressive, but its cool because it try anywhere.
I'm sorry i just don't agree, I don't think the AI is trying anything, it's just going around the track and your either there or your not....at the last corner you just pulled away, you could have at any-point where is the fun in that?

QuoteWere you riding 3rd or 1st person?  I like the game in 3rd, cannot stand it in 1st, so I am going to guess you were in 3rd.
Thought so, just doesn't work in 1st person.  No head-tracking either...limited.

QuoteI play just with MotoGP and Moto2 the other bikes are shit)
I agree

QuoteThere are the rewind if there is big mistake or a little AI bug, just push a button, not one need to play this game as a hardcore gamer. (i have phisics pro e max difficulty but the rewinds are enabled, also if the 99% of the times i dont need them)
Not for me, never have this option on, hardcore ultimate realism, that's just the way I like to roll.  Good or bad makes no diff, I learn something every single time.

QuoteAnyway nice see someone with real opinions... and not just thing like this; "I never played it because GP Bikes is better...." ;D
I'm going to take that as a compliment :-P

I am trying to edit *player* Physics and the AI.
So i can enjoy some nice offline races... and yes modding the AI gives some very nice results.

Infact as bad as the game is out of the box IMHO.

MotoGP 17 has a lot of params to play with and its also possible to add some extra params to the files.
With the files i tried the params got accepted... good for modding.

G'day fellas.

First off, sorry for the delay in the post but my 2TB drive started clicking and had priority to replace and clone it, which did not go totally as planned, not lol. But here it is.

To start with, this is all due to the corrispondense skills and hard work from Mike(SimUK), so the credit for getting this started must go to Mike. Thanks buddy and welcome to the IASystems Team.

So to the point...........

A while back Mike and I talked about contacting as many people and companies about the Hs2 systems I build. Although this is mainly for my systems, I have always insisted in adding GPBikes in the corrispondense to try and push it, plus it is the ONLY true simulation for bikes and I designed my system using GPBikes and not games.

A few weeks back Mike sent me a txt saying to call him ASAP as it was important. Thinking it was on a personal matter and not business I got the biggest surprise when he said Phaedra Haramis the Licensing Director from the Commercial Dept of Dorna Sports S.L. had replyed to one of his emails he had sent out!!!

Here is the first email for you to see.

From: Phaedra Haramis
Date: Sat, 3 Jun 2017 12:50

Dear Michael,

Thank you for the mail and apologies for our late reply but we have been out of the office a lot recently with several races.

We would be happy to meet you and have a demo of the HS2 and for you to explain more about your project. We are based in Barcelona but if not can also arrange a meeting in the UK or you are welcome to come to Silverstone during the race weekend in August if you would like to meet there.

Thank you very much.

Kind Regards,

Phaedra

Phaedra Haramis / Licensing Director / Commercial Dept / Dorna Sports S.L.

Narcís Monturiol 2, 08960, Sant Just Desvern - Spain

Okay, time to let this sink in guys. I did not have the systems or the funds to meet in Barcelona plus organize the logistics for such a meeting. Mike then sent further emails to set up a meeting at Silverstone in August at the British MotoGP.

We have now had confirmation on how we can meet with Dorna and this is the email capture of it.

As you can see, ALL companies involved in eSports will be there, Sony, Milestone, Red Bull and the rest!!!

So why is this so important for me to post here? Well guess what simulation software will be used to show the full potential of the Hs2? If you say any game names leve the room now and jump in front of the first bus please!!! Naturally as per Pibosos wishes I will be advertizing GPBikes and letting those in the room try it out. I will naturally point out it is a beta and WIP but will make sure it has no cores lol. We will be there to not just demo my systems but show whoever we can the best and only true sim in the world. I intend to try and make shirts, banners, flags and flyers all with the GPB and Piboso logo puse web address for the demo. I am 100% confident we can greatly increase the interest in GPB, not just to the public but to major companies. We are there for the whole weekend and will be trying to do demos for the whole time if we can arrange it for Saturday and Sunday too (We will be watching the race though)

As I said, we are going as a team, this will include Mike(SimUK), matty0l215, myself and then we need another GPB and MotoGP games rider who can meet us and get a free Paddock Pass from me. This is the greatest oppertunity of my life and I want to make sure I also use it to promote GPB as much as possible. Many want Dorna to drop Milestone for eSports and if they do, it will be for a real simulation. This means the chance of sponsorship for who they may chose. I believe in GPB and intend to do my bit for the community to help Piboso get it to v1.0.

Although Dorna is giving us 5 Paddock Passes and a room for the day, we still have to pay for gas, food and whatever it costs for promotional banners, flyers and shirts. I have to build another system and desperately need a decent paint job on the CBR1000RR tank and tailpiece. Leo Bodnar has offered parking facilities to us for the weekend so we are good on that lol. Matty has kindly said he does not mind paying for his own gas which helps big time too. This is where maybe any of you guys can help us out a bit. ANY kind of help is much apprieciated, be it just a good idea, a link to a cheap but good printing company in UK or a few pence. All help will take a bit of pressure of me for this massive weekend. If by chance someone can donate some money to help I need to use PayPal. The IASystems account uses the following email  doubledragoncc@yahoo.com
I normally would not ask for help, but for something like this, I can not afford to do it unprofessionally. I want to promote GPBikes in the best way possible as this is the biggest chance to do so. Anyone wishing to call by phone to UK is most welcome, my number is 07766 986981

As I know some may say I am using GPBikes to promote my system, I do not need GPB for this and in fact I need MotoGP17 as it is the eSports game, BUT I know this is a chance to show GPBikes to the world.

Thanks to Manu and CAWS for great work on bikes but I still need the latest version of Silverstone for GPB lol. I am hoping we get the official riders of Moto3, Moto2 and MotoGP to come and try my systems, but I want them to try GPBikes as that is what THEY need if it gets to be like F1 where simulators are used, they will need the right software!!! NOT just a controller and a game. I wonder if any of you have yet thought how it would feel to know Rossi or Dovi rode on your MOD bike or track in GPBikes!!! Yeah Baby!!! I will try a film as much as I can but it may be hard depending on how many people I have to deal with lol.

I have so much more to add but am so bad at this kind of thing, hence Mike being my goto guy on emails and such, but I wanted to post this personally. So I am sorry if it is a bit all over the place.

Sounds like a giant news !

If you need an ass to sit on your system, I can probably fly to SIlverstone: just checked my agenda, I'm available that week-end :)

P.S.
I'd edit-out the personal email of the Dorna people, just in case.

Probably phone number too ;)

But great news mate! Really hoping this will create some extra interest in both your systems and the GPB, but i am pretty sure it will!

If i lived closer than denmark i would for sure be interested in going, i would probably have the time.

It would maybe be possible to fly over and help, but not 100% sure yet.

Assuming PiB is already on-side (?) should be great for the game too.

Will you be using the stock PiBosO bikes at the show?

This is really very exciting and fantastic news and I will be looking forward to seeing any posts and videos of the event and outcome..... Well done indeed DD and Mike!  ;D 8)

You may have already proposed this behind the scenes, but I'd have thought this would've been a PRIZE opportunity for Piboso to attend and promote the GPB side of it as well as provide technical support and extend his network of potential backers, etc, etc?  :)

We are working hard on getting the Silverstone track out, but we are definitely being hampered by the edf-exporter texture transparency bug right now.

This is great news! Good luck guys!  ;D

Wow, why not propose to Pib to go with you ? about the moto gp, moto 2, moto 3 mod is it safe to show a non liscenced mod to the dorna guys ? may be just to show the potential of modding capabilities and possibility of gp bikes but not for "official demo" !
Any way, good luck guys we're all behind you !  :)

I am working on the legal side of it but it is a WIP and not an advertized full released game. The point is to try and show Dorna what can be done and to get their blessings lol. As the bikes are NOT from Piboso I want at least the same track as I will use in MotoGP. This being said, it is a demo and not a released product. The guys at Dorna are really wanting the best eSports they can make so they WANT to see new things. First demo will be JUST PURE PIBOSO product, then I can say I can show them how it can be done with the bikes from MotoGP etc etc

I would like to ask PIBOSO to come and thinking of the PM I will be sending him/her lol. I will need to know more about PIBOSO as I cant just use an alias to introduce somebody to Dorna. This is why we have the 5th pass for a special guest.

Well, it could at least show that the fans are interested and motivated.
At any rate, it must be made very clear that these mods are not officially supported by PiBoSo, they are fans-made stuff.
Also, if questioned, let's not try to hide that come mods are sort of illegal. But we also have some (beautiful) bikes made from scratch !

Guys I just wanted to say;

This is why I love the GPB community so darned much, awesome collection of skilled, passionate and like-minded people working together to make something great even better!  You guys are awesome and on behalf of DD and myself we so appreciate your support and best wishes!

My thanks also to Piboso for creating GPB and the resulting community and I hope so much you can join us for this Epic Experience!

Finally I wanted to extend my gratitude and thanks to DD for the opportunity to be a part of IASystems.  It is a massive honour for me and something I never, ever expected to be possible 18 months ago before I started YT.  You have done something epic with the Hs2, I knew it the moment I first saw it many years ago back when it was the Hs1.

I as no doubt all of the GPB community will be hoping Dorna & their associates opt to use their considerable influence so that we can share the fantastic Hs2 experience with as many people across the globe as possible.

DD thank you for your passion and hard work to make the Hs2 a reality, you Sir are a legend Bravo!

If just 1 in 3 of the roughly 1500 forum members here would PayPal up at least $25 US to support this worthy mission,
that's more than $4k in crowd funds!

I've tried to PayPal $40US to doubledragoncc@yahoo.com from USA but keep getting the following error:
"We're Sorry; There's a problem with the info you entered. Please check it and try again."

Tried sending as a Friend and as Goods/Services.. :(

I'm certain a fair lot would PayPal up at least $25 US to support this worthy mission.
(If just 1 in 3 gave.. that's more than $4k in crowd funds for y'all..)

With more than 1,400 Forum members in total here, is there a way to quickly reach out to all of them?

The new "MotoGP" bike mods are astounding!
Can an unpainted scuderia of these as "Bike 1", "Bike 2", etc be loaded for your demo?

Wait, what?  ???
No spam please. A forum thread would be enough.

TY G

As GPB is unstable online it would not be good to have the dreaded core crash at the demo so no multi player unless beta12 is released and more stable. The point is about the control of the bike and physics

Got to remember Dorna has a contract with Milestone(for now) so it is all about getting the ball rolling for GPB, but, who knows. Dorna WANTS eSports to be high quality and that is something they are willing to pay for.

My goal is to get licencing and backing for the Hs2 AND GPB if possible. Imagine if Piboso got an official MotoGP licence for GPB!!!

I am still waiting on final info for which building and if we can have the room ALL weekend for public demos

Thanks for your support guys. We really need it lol

DD

EDIT: One thing I could really use help with is racing stickers for my CBR1000RR Tank and Tailpeice. Just need some to make it look not so boring lol.

I also need to borrow a Graphic card for the server PC to run GPBikes only has low wattage PSU so I need a card that draws low watts. I am low on spare cash so things are getting tight but want to give a good a demo as possible.
Just need to run a second PC to help but server system is missing a card lol.

Anyone with anything please PM me for address. Thanks guys

Is the demonstration open for the public or just one time for the Dorna people?

Mike has all the pics and videos BUT many GB to sort out, upload and everything so please be patient guys. It was a lot of work and believe me very much stress as we had some massive problems  with security and organization at the track.

I will be doing a live stream where you can join in and ask questions but I do have work to do and a lot to catch up on too.

Mr P, you got noticed and I will explain all as soon as I can.

All of us have lives outside of the forum lol

EDIT: I have only just got my room back together and running as took eveything to Silverstone so not had a chance to do a thing yet

Maybe it's time GP Bikes has a Facebook page? And a visual update to the website?

Facebook is pretty crap at promoting anything without paying out a lot of money in adverts.... Much better and a lot cheaper to have a regularly updated Official Piboso YouTube Channel were everyone can be kept up to date with Piboso's projects, but all that takes time to maintain, so not so easy for a very small dev team who have their hands full as it is already.

Post by: VirginiaF1 on August 31, 2017, 06:03:51 AM
After watching all the videos Mike put on MEGA, I must say that racing at Mugello got a smile from each rider; especially when they knew the track. (FHD3149)
That the Movistar Yamaha Tech did not realize there was a brake and gearshift pedal available was a bit of a surprise though. With Moto17 clearly running, and with its automatic transmission, lack of surface pitch and unreal physics the demo had to lack the feel we all love in GPBikes.

On 102_1411, you really spoke up well for GP Bikes' superiority over Milestone's game.
Were Milestone in the demo room?

On that 102_1411 vid, the dark haired gent with the MotoGP dress shirt was Mr Canela?
He clearly knew the track and seemed to get the "small inputs vs gamepad" advice.

Whereas my son and I use Thrustmaster wheels with 100% FFB on GPBikes, does your rig offer any FFB? Was FFB a question that anyone brought up?

Once again, MASSIVE Thanks for going, presenting and filming it.
PS:** WE MAY NOT PUBLISH ANY PICS or VIDS **

I will be posting on the forum soon but I am not going to spaend 10 hours typing stuff and then have to answer a thousand questions as people misunderstand no matter how much you try to explain. I wont get in trouble as I am gonna cover it and not keep it public but the stream will allow me to explain the weekend better.

Not keeping a video public (i.e. making it unlisted) is not a solution: anybody can get the link when you past it here or somewhere and then push it around (or, worse, download the video and repost it).
If you have taken confidentiality engagements, don't put stuff on youtube (except, maybe if kept totally private, but then , what for ?).
Even the Mega and the stream are a risk.

At a glance is went well. Not at all to plan but good reguardless..

Dorna seemed very impressed with the system but unfortuetly we didnt get time to show GP Bikes and what the system is really capable of because of that.

I gave a 15-20 mins display around Silverstone on MGP 17 then various Dorna personal had a go on the system on Silverstone and then Mugello. They tried the Desk mounted system with foot controls and then on the site on system and they seemed to really like both.

Considering we set everything up (PC, screen, buit two systems up, moved the room around etc) do the display, take everything down and get out of the place in less than 3 hours. WHEN it was meant to be a whole day or two to set up and let people have a look/ display with 3 HS2 systems running with GPB and MGP 17 at the same time. I think it went really well.

Thats my input anyway :P

I will awnser questions if anyone has them :)

Nothing IMMEDIATE came out of it but that was expected and GPB DID get recognized by DORNA or rather Fidela and Jorge. I do not wish there to be miss understandings and that is why I NEED to SAY and not just write it on the forum.

I will have teamspeak running and the youtube chat to answer questions but the main point is to explain the very positive side to the weekend.

Quite the contrery, Dorna staff were asking how MGP could be inproved as they are tied into it until at least 2019 (not real date was said but a couple of years was said a fair bit) they cant junmp ship but they can make the situation better.

Hey guys,

Just to keep things safe etc.. it is OK for you guys to download, watch and keep the footage for personal use, just please don't post on YT or similar as that was a direct request.

I'll leave the link live until DD starts his YT live chat on Sat and then kill it for security.

My 2p, it went really, really well.  Plus GPB is def on the cards and in contention for their next (unofficial) venture for a more realistic simulator.

Can everyone just not say anymore until I stream

I had things thouight out and now things are being let out and taking the surprize out of it all

This is exactly what I do not want as it can lead to miss understanding by folks if not all told in the right context and with ALL the information and not just snippet. Plus I was the only one to have certain conversations concerning certain points and do not wish the wrong details to be given.

It is very important to me and Piboso that things are fully understood.

I will explain everything on Saturday and not before as I want and have the right to decide how it is presented in order to stop having to get stressed over having to deal with loads of posts as I have very little time to spend on the forum as I need to actually work.

So please just be patient and all will be revealed on Saturday

Yeah but still ... I mean, it's all good dd was able to show his system, glad for him.
But if there was no time to show GPB then it sounds like weeks of excitation for finally seeing the ankle of a playmate.

Even less actually, as they do went through MotoGP '17 (on two tracks). So make that a 1972 playmate.

Don't know, maybe I misunderstood the purpose of the whole thing.

Mmmmmh...
You are not the only one who is confused about this thread. It's not entirely clear to me either.
As far as I understood it, DD and friends got in contact with someone at Dorna to showcase their hardware and, incidentally, if an opportunity would have opened, try to push GP Bikes as the official software for MotoGP eSport.
I had NO involvement in the venture, and I was 100% sure nothing good would have come for GPB.
Nonetheless, I tried to update GPB before the meeting just to avoid to take the blame for the failure ( that I knew was coming ) in making anyone interested in GPB.

Of course I wish all the best to DD & Co. with their simulator  :)

P.S.
It was my understanding that the passes were for 3 days. Apparently, they turned out to be for 3 hours... Sadly, my pessimism was justified...

Just a point; GP Bikes for eSport?

Atm the MotoGP17 eSport are based on the riders ghosts... put this feature in the next update imo its a good move for the future.

With the respect to the whole GPB team, I bet that Dorna won't be interested in GPB because it is too difficult. I watch interveiws with Milestone developers and talk with ppl through steam forums and I see that only a couple of ppl want the Milestone games to be more realistic. Look how many ppl play onboard. The GPB needs time and practice to do ride without thinking and after a long time you can enjoy this game. Companies want to earn money fast and easy. Motorcycles games are a small market, and GPB is a game for a small piece of that motorcyclists group who want to feel some realism in virtual world. Thats why I didn't have a big expectations from presenting GPBikes to Dorna.
I really would like to bet a better controler for motorcycling games as playing on game pad does not give that feeling.
Still I look forward to the live stream :-)

In theory eSport does require challenging software, to make it interesting.
It's more of a money problem: Milestone already has the resources, the licenses, the contents and the staff to handle the eSport side, as a by-product of their game, at zero cost for Dorna.
Sadly it's all about money, nothing else counts...
Title: Re: MASSIVE News is coming Guys!

Honestly I don't see the top MotoGP players wanting to spend hours on learning the bike handling. The top PC players I know are third person perspective players using different assists and most of them don't like the idea of making Milestone games more realistic. But maybe the more realistic software will open a door for the riders that play onboard with all assists off....who knows.
Title: Re: MASSIVE News is coming Guys!

I think it all depends on where the big prize money ends up.... Unfortunately money talks and money rules this world, and where the money goes the big sponsors and subsequently the big crowds will follow. But if they go down the arcade Milestone route then like other attempts to bring gaming to the viewing masses it will soon get boring and fail big time, same as other easy route attempts have done so in the past.

What they really need is a serious simulation and not a simple arcade foundation to work from, that way it gains respect from the viewing audiences rather than the audiences knowing that any monkey could buy that game and compete in these events with no prestige or talent needed at all.
But as it's been suggested, making a fast buck is what it all seems to be about these days no matter if they ruin what could be a beautiful new genre in virtual sports by doing so...... This is what I have been saying about Dorna making sure they do it right and not take the easy route which will lead to disaster for motorcycle racing esport events becoming a big hit with the public.

Just the same as not everyone is suited, capable or has the talent for riding in real MotoGP's, then it should be the same for esports too, that the simulation software soon sorts the talented competitors out from the wishfull thinkers with no talent; Milestone games do not do that.... anyone can ride fast in Milestones MotoGP games.  :P

Dorna need to take this seriously if they want it to succeed, and I fear they are not doing so, or at the very least don't know what is possible or available and are relying on the likes of Milestone to lead their judgments and influence their decision making? That's a BIG mistake on Dorna's part! >:(

But yeah.... Realistic simulation should be esports foundation, full stop; any other option will just die a quick and boring death before it's had chance to really get itself established.

eSport is not Dorna core business.
This is why I think that they will do it only as long as they don't have to invest any money on it, and without diverting any of the scarce sponsors' income from MotoGP to eSport.
The only real option for GPB to replace Milestone would be to already have all the backing and infrastructure. Good luck with that... And how would it be financially sustainable?

Well as long as none of the other guys spill some beans you may be in for a bit of a surprize as to what Dorna wants!!!

Watch the stream and all will be told

Dorna need to take this seriously if they want it to succeed, and I fear they are not doing so, or at the very least don't know what is possible or available and are relying on the likes of Milestone to lead their judgments and influence their decision making? That's a BIG mistake on Dorna's part! >:(

eSport is not Dorna core business.
This is why I think that they will do it only as long as they don't have to invest any money on it, and without diverting any of the scarce sponsors' income from MotoGP to eSport.

Granted, esport is not a Dorna core business, but they need to be there to help heavily promote it and give it credibility; that shouldn't cost them much money, just a sincere will to want it all to happen and be successful long term.

How would it be financially sustainable? Just the same as any motorsport is kept financially sustainable, through corporate sponsorship; and that will only happen when enough people become interested enough to want to follow and watch esport, and the best way to do that is with a relatively long term approach starting from the grass roots upwards from the dedicated enthusiasts who organise and promote events freely in their own time like Peter, Nick and now DD is doing. But we need the software to help promote(via live-stream) the job we want to do.... Thanks to you Piboso we already have the bike physics we need for the realism, but we still need to be able to operate the live replay system better for live-replay-streaming functionality and ideally a better graphics capability married to better export tool functionality so modders can design and create content the same as they would for the professional entertainment industries, which means stop pampering to the amateur content creators who cannot use professional software packages and/or industry standard file transfer formats on exports. If you want professional standard content then you've got to aim your modding tools at professional standard content creators.
Sorry... Getting a little off track here. Lol. But in a way it does all contributes to an end result that we'd like to see happen for GPBikes.  :)

But yeah, an audience build-up from grass-roots level until it's becomes ever increasingly popular and all the pits-and-falls have been ironed out by listening to what the audiences want for the viewing format. Then it would be viable to start talking to relevant companies that would be interested in sponsored events and grow it into something bigger and better from there... "Onwards and upwards", as they say!  ;D

But trying to do it like I see Dorna and Milestone doing it is very likely to end in failure because it's like jumping into a deep ocean when you can't even swim and your relying on some jumped up pillocks with big egos who think they know what they are doing.... Well let's see what happens.  :)

Ok pff....... i never thought i was gonna join this conversation.

1st
i dod not download the vids from Mega never seen anything... so i am spilling something which might have nothing to do with this.

2.
Motogp 17 from milestone out of the box (which is been critisized over here) is 100 % kids game.
But if I am able with my poor computer/poor spare time... poor everything, to mod this game into another version.
Dont you think MILESTONE employers are not able to do what i am able to do.....  i don't think so.

It is what MILESTONE/DORNA (or whatever all the names are) wants to sell.
Which seems to be MotoGP 17 out of the box (which is euhmm....  :-\ not very good).

Strange thing is MotoGP 17 has lots of parameters inside (even more then older games) to be able for creating more (even decent) realism (IMO) but they never used it.  :-\

Another thing GPB does not have AI  :-\ .... euhemm i stop here.

I'm not sure about about the DORNA/MILESTONE cooperation. In my head, MILESTONE just bought a licence that says, you have right to use real names and brands in your products and you are the only ones.
I don't think that gives DORNA or whoever, any right to ask for milestone to change their products.

Anyway, I wanted to ask a question / point something.

I don't remember having seen or red anything from PiBoSo that could lead us to think that he really wants GPB to be what WE want it to be.
We all dream about GPB being the #1 motorcycle software, the #1 esport thing with a good media coverage, live streams, worldwide championships, lot of money and low vertue naked girls crawling at our feet (ok, maybe this last one is a personal dream)

But, Does PiBoSo really want it ? I have the feeling that he is happy with what GPB is now, maybe proud of what he made so far - and he can - and that's all...

Look at Daily dev, He spent month working on KRP, he just released beta12, DD, Mike and Matt were at silverstone, they are new bugs coming with the last update, we have a lot of wishes and suggestion etc...
He spent 3 days working on : "MXB: work on the physics"

I think he is just a geekpassionate perfectionist that wants to polish his products steps by steps. I don't think putting GPB in the spotlights of eSport or whatever is his goal.

@PiBoSo, Tell me if I'm wrong...

@Tchemi: Good points there mate....... But I would add that if only Piboso would give us what we need then we could do the rest; if Piboso has no aspirations for his part in GPB to become what we all hope it will do(eventually) then Piboso can sit back and watch us dance with a fully developed GPBikes instead and just reap the increased income from GPBike sales that would come at that stage.  :)

I personally remember that work on one sim provides for all titles. There is nothing wrong with working on MXB physics. That particular title could really reward the dev team in the long run if it rounds out to what it looks like it'll end up as. What is good for KRP, WRS, and GPB, is for sure, good for MXB, and you can put any of those into any order in how that is said and it makes sense. Any good for any title, is good for all of them. ;)

Very true Grimm

Shame that it is not been made that all could be combined into one sim covering all and being able to use a combination of MXB n GPB or GPB n WRS if you know what I mean BUT it is because the physics in each is different we cant.

Nothing wrong with me @PiBoSo. I'm just pointing out that we all want you to commit more or less exclusively on GPB because we love that sim and we think it has a huge potential. Most of us think that the dev of GPB could go faster and be on the top of the priority list. But, you are still the boss and you decide wether or not you will spend time on this or that soft.

I'm just saying to the crowd, keep calm. We cannot chose for you, we cannot dev for you. And I think that you don't really want GPB to be pushed under the spotlights, or at least, not as much as us. Guigui is right I think with the Notch comparaison.

Maybe one day, you could tell us what is really your goal, where do you see your softs in the future, what do you want for PiBoSo titles. It could help us to not jump in the hype train every time we see something that has potential for GPB.

I decided not to show pics or videos for now to keep all safe. I will ask permission from Dorna to do so and hope to post later next week.

For now I just made a video with all info and answered a few questions.

I hope this answers your questions. If you want to do a QnA at anytime let me know.

I buggered up. Asked if music could be heard and turned it right down but still got hit by YT for copyright so will sort it out

Thanks for the effort dd (and anybody who contributed).

I'm still not optimistic (to put it mildly) about the chances of GPB of becoming the product they pick, but who knows ...

One thing that was probably worth explaining to the Dorna people (and went untold, unless I'm missing something) it's why GPB is better than others, why it is technically superior as a simulator.
I guess a few Dorna people can get pretty technical and could have enjoyed the degree of attention PiBoSo has put into correct simulation of bike physics.
Things like multi-body simulation based on state-of-the-art bike model representation, tyre model, aerodynamics effects ...

I mean, these are the things Milestone may have trouble to cope with (I say may as once PiBoSo said that one of the Milestone's dev guys is, in his opinion, more than capable to bang out a proper bike physics, if requested to do so). Allowing to use configurable input devices is something Milestone can do in no time flat (if requested to do so).

P.S.
Tiny business advice: never (never) say something "I wouldn't let motogp rider XXXX to sit on my system" (no matter how deeply you do think that). This is the kind of thing that puts you out of play in no time.

Milestone has moved to Unreal Engine. Even with the resources they have they didn't manage to make a good game (MXGP3) that still lacks a lot of potential. Even if Unreal Engine is not a good material to make a realistic game (from what I was reading in the internet). I have seen an interview with Michaele Caletti a dev from Milestone who is lead developer of Milestone new game Gravel. He said that they are learning the Unreal Engine and will implement other things in future... BUT! Look at the history of MotoGP games, they don't feel any pressure as Milestone is monopolist on the motorcycle market. Even BigBen Interactive won't be a threat with their IoM TT game. A friend of mine who has modded the code of Milestone games told me that there is a big mess in the game code. It only shows the attitiude of Milestone to their products. Copy and paste and dont test b4 the release. Thats why I have asked DD if Dorna treat software seriously and do they know the problems with MotoGP games. I say they are not good for serious racing because of the bugs, glitches and unstable multiplayer.  They just can't do things properly and here is the door wide open for GP Bikes. I really don't belive that Milestone will make anything good.
SO... there is a potential for GP Bikes as this game is developed without any time pressure or stupid deadlines. Milestone is a company: "release, sell and dont care". I think that in current form the esport championship is without any sense bcs time trial in arcade game that is as buggy as this one is stupid. There is no opponent pressure where you can make mistake or collisions or even if there are few bugs in the Milestone games that if U know them U can make insane times.
I keep fingers crossed for GP-Bikes which gives me that little feeling of motorcycle riding when the weather is bad and I can't ride in real life.

@Max

I did talk about GPB having being physics based, a real bike simulator in all the aspects it has including tyre deformation and dynamic track etc etc I just did not list it all in the video which I should have.

This is still a WIP for try and sell them on GPB and I will NOT give up, I am a determined lil shit when it comes to getting my way lol.

This is just the begining guys and a good one.

Coen Brothers??? Piboso I hope thats a good thing lol

It is a pleasure to try Mr P

I know how hard it is even if you have the best product out there it is the marketing and funds that you need to make it work that hold you back.

YOU have given us a brilliant product and made it possible to build such a community, the least we can do is support you.

I am only just starting this endevour and will do my utmost to get both my systems and GPB to the world as best as I can.

My family moto is "To Try is Enough" so I will just keep trying lol

Thank you for the recognition of the communities efforts.

Hey all,

I missed the stream but thanks DD nice fill-in for everyone.

I spoke in private with Jorge too and I must say he seemed very keen to `improve`Milestone and was keen to hear suggestions and recommendations to give to Milestone (who are brilliant at making games look pretty, just need some realistic physics).

Overall it was a very positive weekend, and now I am in talks with Yamaha UK so continue to watch this space :-)

Thanks for your unbelievable support guys.
