Title: Dakar 2018 - a new game where you can ride motorcycles.
Post by: KG_03 on January 12, 2018, 04:17:55 PM
As in the subject. The game will be available in June 2018. There will be possible to ride motorcycles. The developer is Deep Silver and Bigmoon Entertainment - those guys worked also on MotoGP13 (3D art).
Some more info http://www.deepsilver.com/en/games/dakar-18/

I hope it will be nice not a arcade shit ;-)

At facebook they have replied that its going to be a simulation.
I saw the video from official presentation and I was a bit surprised what they are going to prepare:
-5 different types of vehicles (Motorcycles, Trucks, Cars, Quads and Buggy)
-15.000 square km of 4k resolution, satelite realistic, open world terrain with navigation and road books.
-different terrain types, weather and time of the day.
-open world also means that the rider is not merged with the vehicle. In case of fall/crash you can leave the vehicle, pick it up or try to manually repair
-open world multiplayer allowing to race against many people in different vehicles at the same time.
-simulation of different surfaces
-official riders and teams

Well...it sounds awesome and I can't wait. I hope that the result will be good as they aim very high.

yes you are right.
The game will be made on Unreal Engine with some custom PhysX code.

Well looks like the game is already mostly made, i hope so, otherwise, all this contents and features to be released in 2018, they better hurry if the game is still at Alpha developping state.

But, yes, that will be great, i've been doing Enduro for 30 years now, i miss it (medically forbidden for me now  :-[ ) and navigation is a good extra-game on it tho.

I will just hop on the hype train if we see gameplay footage, because the development studio f*cked it up some times... But hey, would not be the first time, that a racing game that everybody wants is really bad when it come out.
