Title: Help First Person View
Post by: RickoAlvio on July 17, 2018, 11:36:18 AM
Is there a way to customize the view position on first person view?
I feel its position is less downward when leaning especially in modern riding style
I feel it is less realistic, because I should be able to feel that my body came out to the side and closer to the ground and I can see the side of the windshield

Or you can use track ir and rotate you view in real time while driving, and with the new beta, you can even controll the rider movement by your own body movement (witch move also the point of view interactively)  ;)

yes of course you can set it up. You can set the tilt of the head, lean of the head when turning or thereare two dynamic options - look into apex of the corner or look to the side when the bike leans.

I'm newbie in this forum but more than 1 year riding with gpbikes i think it's enough to understand all those things brother (FOV, tilt, etc)
I'm not using track IR or anything else like VR.. is it different compared to dynamic view ? (lean heading or look to apex)
FOV only make the view more wider, also tilt and the other things.. but not change the position of the rider view.. the view position still stick above the windhield
to be more clear what my question is :

This is what i get in first person view :

What I want is :

This is the view when i place the camera inside the rider helmet using free-roam mode :

Ok I understand now, then sorry no you cany change the camera position 🙁 I think it is moddable but depends on the bike modder. Not sure. However what you need is not possible to achieve with ingame settings 🙁

I can have what you want, but only with track ir and rider track (just a matter of x translation amplitude). I can even make the "modern"rider movement behave like marquez riding style (elbow down and body out).

Yes, I think the same .. I think it can be changed by a config file or something like that, but I do not know how  ;D

Can i see an example? a video maybe?
so I can consider that I should buy IR track and rider track or not  ;D

That view is set by the creator in BikeED, Changing it, unfortunately, will make the bike not usable online

It is a common trend that Modder think that we need to be staring at the bike :P

As a 6ft rider, I can bearly see the top of my screen while riding let alone the dash.

If you want to experiment with the view of a bike. Go into the folder of the bike. Make a copy of the .geom file for that bike (keep it safe) then open the .geom file in BikeED (found HERE).

Move the "Rider View" and the "T-view" crosses and see what they feel like.

Hope this helps :)

Hi matty0l215, Thank you so much to let me know... that's what I want exactly ;D
Do you also riding in real life?
Ohh... come on modders.. make it more realistic  :P
So I just need to restore original .geom file if I want to go online right?

If you set the view to 'realistic' then the complaint will be that riders do not have the bike as a point of reference in 1P  ::)

We just need to think "Hey bike, let's follow me go there"   ::)

Ok i'll make a video during WE, but as H106frp said, when you do such, if you're playing with a single screen, the bike will be not visible at full lean. I'm on a triple monitor setup so i can see the bike on the side monitor ....

This has been said again and again. This could be an awesome feature to add comfort to users. And not very hard to implement
