Title: Disengage Max Torque Settings
Post by: Myst1cPrun3 on March 12, 2019, 06:39:29 PM
Due to the release of beta 15 there have to be a few settings updated in most modded bikes, and so far there's only a few that have had the updates done 'officially', leaving it up to us to figure out some values.
The main one I've found to get bikes working In b15 is the 'Disengage Max Torque' setting in the bikes cfg file, which once setup right allows the bike to be run in b15/b15b
This can be troublesome, as different people will use different values, and thus create a mod mismatch and incompatibility with other users, which is fine for offline play but wouldn't work online.

What this topic is intended to be, is sort of like a file reference of recommended values for most of the bikes, where people can post the edited values and then we can sort of get a standardised value for most mods/bikes out there.

Some people already have posted updates to their mods, and there are some servers up with their recommended settings, however I don't personally think thats' ideal. (I don't think this is ideal either but it seemed an easier all encompassing solution)

I did do a bit of testing for the update to the WSBK pack, and I found a few things regarding riding style that can affect what values are used.
(For instance, on the MGP18 bikes and the WSBK pack, I have a tendency to run little to no electronic aids, and slide the bike considerably more than others seem to in videos and online, thus skipping the gears as the torque settings have changed)

The values that work for me are below

Feel free to post other bikes settings if you've tested them.

I'll try and add a new bikes value every other day.

GP250 Pack: No change

This still skips on the upshifts, and I've left this intentionally, as these bikes didn't, (to my knowledge) have quick-shifters and thus required a clutch and shutting the throttle on gear-changes, which previously, even without aids, didn't seem to be represented. With the default setting shutting the throttle on upshifts is required, unless the aids such as 'shift help' and 'automatic clutch' are switched on, which is how it should be IMO.

Feel free to disagree and post some different 'fixed' settings below.  :)

MotoGP 18 Pack: DMT 600

There was a server up with the DMT settings at 400, and for the most part, this value works great. However, as I said in the original post, I tend to slide the bike more and this setting did not allow that. 600 works fine sliding, and from my testing if you somehow manage to skip a shift through a slide on this value, your immediate concern would be which ambulance to use as you've had a lovely little highside

SSP 2012 Pack: DMT 200

This may change as I've not tested all the bikes, and the 749 ducati's big vtwin seems to be a little different

300 correct values

UPDATED 18/03/2019 - 749 skipped some gears on Mugello, correct value for pack now 300

UPDATED 23/09/2019 - Triumph 675 Daytona Value now 350

(Props to IMT and Blackheart for getting their mods sorted quickly)  :)

GP 250 is not recommended for a change, as changing it makes the shifting un-realistic. This is a simulator after all, not arcade like milestone. Should be 1:1 as much as possible.

No lift recommended DMT: Still 200

If you go into the bike install folder, and then find the cfg file with the same name as the bike folder, you can ctrl + f to find it in notepad.

Program files x86 > Gp Bikes >  gpbikes > bikes > example bike > example bike.cfg

Hi.

Bit of a noob question but how do I do if I want to make a note in the config file, for example keeping the original value for the Max Torque Setting, and at the same time get GP Bikes to only acknowledge the new value. Can I just add a line like:
[Org value 200]. Will the brackets make GPB ignore the line or do I have to use some other character?

Cheers,

Add  ; after the parameter

DisengageMaxTorque = 100 ;original value 110

In this way:

DisengageMaxTorque = 300 ;100

Where 300 is the current and 100 the previous one

I might have misunderstood but I can't find the mentioned updates.

On another note, tried 600 DMT setting on the Yamaha MotoGP17 (I prefer the 17 ahead of the 18 pack), so I would guess that it works on the rest of the 17 MotoGP bikes as well.

@Myst1cPrun3

How do you do When you try the new settings? Do you just enter random numbers until you find one that feels right or do you have some base idea that you use as a start value. Wondering because I'm thinking about trying to "fix" a few bikes but have no idea how to start without entering every number in the universe, and that would take a while...

In general, a good base point I use is to scroll through the.cfg file and find the clutch settings, there's maximum a torque value assigned to that. I then use that as a base point, and usually add 50-100 depending on how much wheels pin and power the bike has. More wheels pin means I add more to the value if that makes sense. Of course there is a little bit of guess work and I do tend to round the numbers up to the nearest value of 50, (630 becomes 650 etc) but adding 100 to the clutch torque is a good start

Varese 594: DMT 550

UPDATE: To all the 500cc 2 strokers, I've upped their DMT to 550 to match that of the Varese. It wasn't neccessary, and doesn't make a difference to the handling of the bikes, but it just allows them to be constant across the board.

Also, the Varese and the other, older Piboso bikes, are the versions from b13, as that was the latest GPB old install file I could find, (In the track database). As far as I know there weren't any changes to these machines into b14 so it should be ok.

The GP500 Nortons' are still DMT: 425 however.

Great work Myst1c !

And thanks to Vini who sent me to this post to find my way.

And if you don't see any problem with my proposal, i'll make a list of all this data (DMT) that you can to put in the first post in order to have a "standart" value for everybody, specially when going Online.

I'll do that tonight after killing all my clients  :o  (it's done and they are all dead :) )

Then second issue for me with b15 is the pilot paint issue that never come up anymore... i guess i have to dig more into the forum, cuz after a quick look, haven't found any references about it.

Thanks again !
