General Discussion / Re: GP Bikes beta14
« on: Today at 07:09:45 AM »
I found yesterday that gp500 bike (the original varese one) has the correct grip off track ! so i think all mod bike need to be upgraded to the new offtrack grip level !
Interesting. Maybe it's problematic to use MOD bikes so long GPBikes has too many issues. Maybe the issues exponentiates with MOD bikes.
Maybe it would be better to make a championchip with the original gp500 bike.

After reading the commentars in this forum and I found not many drivers at the servers I'm demotivated to install GPBikes14. And the remembering at many  overtakings  at run-off areas increases my demotivation.

Yes, I see the files from the first race are not correct. The reason is (again):  I saved the export to early (before rider 25 has finished this last lap). I think the export you have posted in test race thread is correct. If you use the tool for race one with that export all should be correct.

For race two you have saved the export to early (my last lap is missing), but my files should be correct.

By the way: If nobody has a correct export in need it's theoretical possible to edit the export: Open with Editor (not Word) and then change the number of laps and change the total time (this time must be estimated). After editing the tool should work.

Unfortunately bikes with only two characters like R6 was to short.
So I had to make a small update. Now GPB_BestLap_v1 should work with such bikes too.
The html files from yesterday testrace are in the zip file.

Do you know why the leaders times change and what is it relative to?
It's relative to the time that the race winner would have at the respective lap, if he would driven totally consistent.
In example: Let's say the race has 20 laps and the finish time of the winner is at the end 2000s. So the average laptime of the winner is 100s.
Lets say any driver's first laptime was 110s. So he get a value of (+)10.
Lets say this drivers total time after the second lap is 209s. So he gets a value of 209s-200s = (+)9.
If the winner was slow in this last lap(s) it could be he gets a negative value in the  forelast or foreforelast lap. It was the case at Motegi.

If the values would be relative to the leader of the respective laps and the leader mades a failure and wouldn't be outstriped the lines of all others drivers would look like they would was very fast.
In using of my system applies: Every drivers line gets downwards if he had made a failure whether he is the leader, winner or anywhere. And I think so it should be.

Looks good and that visual graph would be good to find where the action was in a replay files   Did you make the graph in excel?
Yes, I put the datas from the html file with "_G at the end in Excel and create the graph with it's help.
I have Excel not on the same PC where I have the replays and exports and I'm not an Excel professional. I think it would look better if the lines would be smaler.

So teeds, your table technology is ready and for the second table too.
Nothing is changed at the old html file, but GPB_BestLap creates a second html file (with "_G" at the end of the filename).
The table above is your table. In my sight the graph made from this table has no really new informations in compariotion to the old race position table.
For me the second table gives really new informations. With help of this values is it's possible to show the differences of all drivers at every lap. It's possible to read-out the diffence s in seconds.
Maybe in same cases (if very slow drivers was in the race - me  8)) the automatic Excel value area is a bit too much.
Don't wonder about the values in the second table. If I explain it it would sound complicate - more complicate than it is.
If you would really understand that you find the calculation formula in the ReadMe file. See first post!

Here is the second graph from 20CET Motegi:

The graph is not 100% correct (two Drivers are missing), because I saved my replay too early. If you use your replay and Export all should be correct.

Pole isn't  possible. The first data I found in replay is after lap 1.

I have another vision: I can produce such a table:
lap1lap2lap3Interim time driver1100.123200.123300.456Interim time driver2102.123203.123309.456Interim time driver3102.956202.123301.456
The times are in seconds. 100.123 is 1:40.123.
If Excel and God are on our side it should be easy to produce such an graph:
The times are in seconds. 100.123 is 1:40.123. In Germany we use 100,123 for decimal numbers. do you need . or , ?

What's your vision? Something like that: ?

Question, is it possible for your software to show each riders position during the race rather than their positions being represented with their race number?
It's possible. What you like best: Sorting by position at the finish or by starting number or rider names in alphabetic order?

Suggestions and wishlist / Corner cutting penalty
« on: May 16, 2018, 06:07:27 AM »
Because I have seen a lot of corner cutting - in same cases with overtaking - in official races I would suggest to increase the cutting penalty from 5 to 10 seconds.
I have heard after the third cutting the driver will be disqualified. Because of the fact that the cutting technology couldn't work 100% perfect (some unguilty drivers that make only a mistake will be penalisied) I would suggest to get the driver the back flag at the fifth cutting. Then maybe the track builders have more courage to set more and stronger checkpoints.

Or maybe the number of max cuttings can be an adjustable parameter definded by the host.

Moto2 Championship 2018 / Re: [INFO] Moto2 International Cup 2018
« on: May 14, 2018, 12:34:22 PM »
In the moment of Gzehoos retreat I promised to suspend judgement about the championchip. Now the championship is over...and I would do a retrospection.

But before that I would thank Gzehoo, teeds, Manu and Wimp for their work. My first online bike championchip brought much fun for me.  :)
But for the next championchip I think something could be a bit more professional (I'm a hard man to pleased).  ;)

In my sight this things wasn't ideal in the past championchip:
1. Wimp win all races (if he participated), except he is starting without qualification. Big gratulation to Wimp! You are really the best!
But in real life it's unrealistic. If Doohan dominates the GP500 championchip in the 90th he doesn't won all races. I miss the consequences of mistakes, crashes (if it's not the own fault too). Without that the results of the races are very predictable.
2. Many tracks have a lot of run-off areas. If drivers uses this areas they have an advantage. Like I said on another place it's like playing volleyball without defined playing field. Even if the driver lifting the throttle that he doesn't have an advantage it's not good for suspense, 'cause faults have no effects. That's another reason that the results are predictable.
3. I think we all have better races if we can split the races in a faster and a slower grid (if we have more than 24 participants). In some races I loose totally my concentration initiated by early overlappings.
4. In the first races some people couldn't race because the server was complete.
5. The results/classification wasn't transparent. For some races I couldn't find the result from the other (15CET) race (except Motegi).
By the way: Before I decide to bying my GPB licence sometimes I have had a look in the forum in threads from test races. Often I doesn't see a result. So I thought because that "there must be bigger problems with GPB"...and do not buy the licence.
5.1 At Assen I get a higher score in classification than #6 Alvaro, but he was an half minute faster than me. Maybe he has driven the 15CET race too and was slower in this race but I can't know that (can't find a result from 15CET race)?
5.2 At Aragon vice versa I have driven one lap more than Alvaro and I get a lesser score. I know in this race GPB forgot to count some laps of some drivers. And maybe the original GPB result would be used for classification. But I missed the information about that. And I'm sure in one or more earlier races the result would be corrected.
5.3 For the past championchip we had only a few rules. One was 80% rule. It seems this rule was considered in some races (the first races I think) in some not(the last races).
5.4 The comparing of overlapped and not overlapped drivers wasn't correct. I said it more than one time, but nobody except me see this problem.  :-\

Unfortunately for 1. and 2. I have not really an idea what we can do at the moment to make it better, but we can make 3., 4. and 5. better: transparence, clear definition to 5.2, and so on.

It's important to save replay and export not to early. I saw it yesterday, because I saved the replay before all drivers finished the race.

Grats teeds for winning the race.
