Thank you  :)

Bug Reports / WRS - no times in stats page
« on: January 01, 2018, 01:03:16 PM »
@PiBoSo, can you please have a look at the master-server, the lap times don't record at the stats web site (all cars+tracks), thanks.

I was on the public server "open server #2" today with another fellow ("spatas"). Whenever I went to the track the game would crash. Totally reproducible. Hasn't been like this in beta11. Since it seems to be totally reproducable, maybe this can be fixed soon?

I'm running the open servers. The servers don't use any mods and except "bandwidth=3" instead of "bandwidth=2" nothing changed in the dedicated.ini files since beta11.
I've to work tomorrow morning but in the afternoon we can run some tests if you want.

Good to see that you still care for WRS, thank you.  :)

Here two small things which I've found.

Stats page - if a driver is connected to a server and you click at the Comp link, no driver name is displayed but you get this error message:
Code: [Select]
Licenses query failed:
Unknown column '5D93F176' in 'where clause'

Beta12 times don't record yet in the stats.

WRS servers are updated to beta12.

I see you solved your problems now. But maybe it's usefull for other people who want to run a server.

It's exactly as Peter posted - use the same folders as on client side.

My server installation folders look like this:

All .pkz files and extracted folders reside inside the appropriate folders.

Strange, here it works without problems but I'm running all my servers in the 28000 range. I guess, that you are still using the proper command line?

core.exe -dedicated 54320 -set params dedicated.ini

Maybe try another port range for the servers or double check your shortcut.

So it defo seems a port conflict but not sure why

Game is on C, server on E. Game connects to 54300, server is on 54320

I can not connect to other servers if mine is running but if I turn it off I can connect

Your server is running at port 54310 which causes the collision with the client ports (UDP 54300 and 54310).

Depending on your browser you can hover over the JOIN button of your server at or copy the shortcut of the button and insert it to an editor.
Your server shows: gpbikes://

It works again, thank you very much  :)

Just tested. For me forum email notifications still don't work.

Thank you for the report Peter, it was interesting for me to see what happens at the other side of the server.

To complete your report:
- the replay size was 512
- the dedicated server didn't core during the whole session

In general the bandwidth usage of beta12(b) is much lower than it used to be in previous betas. Older betas used 2,5 - 3,5  Mbit/s for 16+ players and went nuts after a short while.
The stability of the dedicated servers seems to have improved too.

Hopefully PiBoSo finds the reason for the high pings during connects and the jumps when entering the track.

Did you also experience such a high number of cores at the first test race (Victoria /default bikes)?

Stable 10 Mbit/s upload are absolutely ok for multiple servers and 20+ concurrent players.

Hmm, since the forum was offline yesterday, the email notifications don't work again. :(

Code: [Select]

GP Bikes beta12 released. - 2017/8/24
fix: memory optimizations

@PiBoSo could you please explain more about the memory optimizations?

When I look at the memory usage of beta12 dedicated servers there are big differences to the old ones.
- If one or more  players connect, there is no significant increase of memory usage
- the memory usage stays quite low -  15-35MB

Are these settings in gpbikes.ini still valid?
Under [core] section ( must be created ):
Code: [Select]
replay  = 10
to set the size, in megabytes, of the replay buffer. 10MB is the default value.
Warning: the bigger the buffer, the more RAM will be used.

First of all thank you :), when I look at gpbikes.ini I've a question.

Is the master server for beta12 really using port 54300 instead of 10500 ?
