General Discussion / head tracking device for input
October 30, 2017, 04:48:39 PM
does anyone know how I can use my head tracking device for controls input?
I use something called Facetrack noir, and I was wondering if you guys how I can utilize my head tracking device for well, input....

the facetracknoir can have up to 2 tracker sources which allow for 2 types of outputs that is labeled "game protocol"

naturally, i can control the ingame "view" as it would in default. which I do.

General Discussion / trail braking
October 22, 2017, 08:00:33 PM
can anyone confirm trail braking is actually a viable strategy in GP-bikes? from my experience, it is not beneficial and contradicts what this game tries to simulate, at least the front brake is not viable the rear is just fine apparently is there a reason for it?
is trail braking only situational?
does certain bikes not allow trail braking?
how does one conclude how much trail braking is useful?

General Discussion / things to focus on.
October 21, 2017, 09:57:30 PM
oi! hello everyone, quick question, I got a few things I feel that I struggle on, sadly I it seems I can't spot the issues I'm facing, how can one locate and determine what is done wrong? I'm no expert or top bike sim racer who has managed to hit the near limit of all possible capabilities imaginable, although I feel just as blind as trying to find improvements on something as simple as how to corner (even though it is not as simple as I started out thinking when racing was introduced to me) I've ridden a lot on the Handa CBR 600 RR bike, on the Jerez race track.
I like progress and achievements, once I struggle to achieve any progress over a long period of time the fun factor lessens, naturally it is indeed a very humanlike reaction but what does frustrate me is the fact that I'm basically riding in blind, i got a split timer telling me how far behind or ahead I am, yet not telling me why and how I even achieved that gap, generally speaking, it can be obvious but mostly it is not. I'm sure if I get the basics down I should see improvements, and as I have been told this sim is not easy and very unforgiving, which I think is where GP bikes charm is, it is a motorcycle sim with wind in your face, (there is a visor between but hey) you feel fast, even at lover speeds your head dangling a few centimeters above the tarmac is thrilling. but the thrill is ruined once my attention is distracted by my lap times, and countless of washouts.
I do not remember when I discovered GP bikes and surely it has only been a few months yet still when doing laps after laps with no breakthrough it feels like an eternity. I love Gp-bikes, in my opinion, there is nothing like GP-bikes, it is unique and I love it for that fact, also it has bikes.... I will admit I have actually never touched a motorbike before, and I do dream of one day getting my hands on one.  the last thing I want to happen is my passion for motorbikes to be completely ruined just because of some random Sim is a little difficult to pull off. It is a challenge, and I love it because of that fact, pretty simple yet very definitive.

makes sense??

General Discussion / Head tracking unit
October 01, 2017, 03:06:27 PM
a few weeks back I decided to invest in a head tracker unit to enhance my gameplay in some of the games that I often play.
its a lot of fun yet can be very disorientating. but then it struck me, does GP bikes support head tracking? Turns out it does!
I decided to download the latest update which I have apparently missed. And I can tell you it is a lot of fun. but very nauseating. still recovering from my laps :D

does any of you have any experience with head tracking units? let me know!

General Discussion / your quickest laptime
June 07, 2017, 11:26:52 AM
so today I was doing my usual thing doing some laps around Victoria circuit
on the new MotoGP 2017 Yamaha,

doing my usual shit tryna bind laps together without falling attempting to follow my racing line you know, the usual repetition. anyways I think it was lap 10 after a small pause I was feeling swift on the controller, my mixtape/playlist is playing rainy weather sick in bed (technically on my chair but hey) I went around on the lap 10 almost lost the rear multiple times! considering the fact that the rear slide out multiple times I thought I fucked this lap like any other.
I took a glimpse on the timer and for some reason, it was green numbers, I thought to myself heh... I guess some milliseconds would not hurt to achieve, floored the throttle crossed the finish line!

and there it was 1'33.33 I managed to beat my old record by 2 seconds!!! what a surprise :O

which left me thinking what is your current greatest achievement when it comes to lap times? what track? what bike?

General Discussion / HELP: vibration feedback
June 03, 2017, 11:50:09 PM
Oi! guys new question! is is possible to code a vibration type feedback to your controller that react to your bike's lean angle? I know maxhud got some vibration feedback but frankly, i struggle to understand how it works pretty nice tho.

General Discussion / tire contact
June 01, 2017, 09:05:00 PM
out of curiosity I watched some IRL racing vids and noticed something racing sims/games don't... "seem/look" to simulate is tire flex upon contact with the track surface, but then I later found out Rfactor 2 simulates tire "movement/flex"

which reaches my question, does Gp-bikes actually simulate the shock absorption and given grip of the tire pressure on the ground itself, if so is it just a simple "grip value" or what? I'm no physicist or am I an expert on simulation mechanics

just left with wondering if tire flex is a key factor GP-bikes even needs? or is it just replaced with calculations?

not sure if this makes any sense, but hopefully it can spark a little discussion and hopefully give me some insight on Tire dynamics, not specific of tires but friction physics as well "i guess  ::)"

General Discussion / Sliding
June 01, 2017, 01:28:02 AM
Rear wheel sliding anyone? Happens to me every so often, but what i was wondering about is, is it possible to slide through an entire corner? Like... Casey Stoner style cornering.... speaking of Casey how was he able to control it??? Was he just going full throttle and let traction control do the work or what?

Support / FIXED: missing bike
May 25, 2017, 10:43:17 PM
so today I finally took the step to download all the bikes from BIKEMOD

but sadly after an attempt on joining motoonline-fr it told me I have a missing bike. it would be so nice if the game could tell me which one :/

I made sure to download every single one of the bikes but to no avail, it is greatly discouraging to attempt an unsuccessful download

i doubt i will get an answer but i better try, wtf could go wrong?

General Discussion / cornering, contunued.
May 14, 2017, 02:02:53 PM
Oi!! lads I've decided to try my luck with asking this forum for assistance involving the art of cornering

I'm riding around on the bike named 2015 Yamaha YZR-m1 but I just can't get it to function properly. As I close the distance to a turn I naturally hit the brakes but sooner or later the back kicks out limiting my braking ability, interestingly the 2015 honda RC213V is easier to handle and I can be more aggressive provided I don't brake too suddenly I also learned I can continue my braking through the corner itself which I find really interesting that it is possible to do so. here I realize not all bikes are equal but I really want to improve my ability to corner with the Yamaha model. Any ideas?

General Discussion / Cornering tips?
April 03, 2017, 08:52:13 PM
Hello im somewhat new to this game/sim and i have really been enjoying it eversince i downloaded the demo and i whish i had the money to buy a licence :/ onto the topic, i have an issue with taking corners, i know very little about bikes but i do get the gist of what "counter steering is, the reason i bring that up is because i have my game configured with the direct steer torque function, absolutely sold it for me when i learned you could apply such "steer mechanics" i am able to have decent control starting and cornering etc, but i feel like im missing a key point when taking a corner and i got curious and decided i would ask the community, "what is the ideal way to take a corner/turn" my speed does not seem to be the issue as ive the ideal racing line turned on, and every corner i take it remains green, any suggestions? (Im aware it take alot of practise but some guidance would be appriciated)
