i hope this is an actual bug report, and not just me messing things up.
it's a little tricky to explain properly, but let me try.
Scenario: i'm on a clear sunny day at Mugello. saved one or two setups already, and can happily load back and forth between them.
then -i leave the server,  i change the weather settings to cloudy. now i go back into the garage.
now, when i look for a setup to load, there are none....
so it's almost as if i need to save new setups from scratch with each change of the track variables.
this is surely not right.
if there's any uncertainty about my explanation, i could also make a video clip showing what i mean....
this is all in offline (testing) mode, btw - i suspect the same might happen online, but haven't checked it.

Paints / DOC's 955/916A3 #47
July 09, 2016, 04:44:55 PM
if i join any online races with the Road class, i'll be making use of this paint -

D/L:  https://www.mediafire.com/?molcfo75lalkfd5
i've included the 916A3 in the heading, because the paint fits that just fine.

this is the final version.

for now.

just wondering if anyone has experienced this before - i've been busy testing the new Ducati 955 out quite a lot yesterday, with nothing but happy reports.
this morning, when i took it out for an early morning run around Mugello, i suddenly find i have a lag of well over a second between any control input on my Logitech F310 gamepad, and actual response from the game.
as you can imagine, nigh on impossible to ride like this...
a little busy this morning, but on my list of things to do will of course, be a reboot, and see what happens.
i really just wanted to know if anyone has experienced anything similar before? - it's really unsettling. lol

Owners Club / Missing Bike on GPBOC server...?
July 06, 2016, 08:15:09 AM
hi guys
wasn't too sure where to post this, but it was something that bothered me at the time, as i never had a 'missing bike' issue with this current beta before.
i can't even remember what track it was, i saw it in the list and saw that it was using Road bikes, but the name was too long which made it unintelligible at least to me.
however, safe in the certainty that i do indeed have all the available road bikes, i tried to join, and got the missing bike error.
What can be missing? i'm convinced i have all that are available, so let me list what i have just to eliminate any doubts. they are all the latest version as per the latest Bike Mod, afaik.
ROAD_DUCATI_916_94A1
ROAD_DUCATI_916_94A3
Road_Honda_NR750
hard to go wrong when you have a list comprising only 3 bikes, anyway, lol - so, what am i missing here?
why the 'Missing Bike' error?
any ideas?
thanks in advance for enlightenment...  ;D

i know it's been talked about before, but there doesn't seem to have been any real solution yet to the problem of a bike just rolling along by itself for ages after a crash - particularly on certain tracks, it can be really frustrating.
i thought of a possible solution - a little more work for Mr PiB, i guess, but maybe not that much - what about giving the bikes a rudimentary, very basic damage model?
i don't even mean any visible damage, nothing like that - but if it can be coded that the front forks, for instance, can get bent quite easily in an impact, this would degrade the bike's stability, allowing it to fall over.
on respawn, the bike will always be 100%  - again, this does not need to be extensively modelled, and not visually at all (that's wishlist stuff, lol - this is more a suggestion for improving things as they are).
most times that a bike runs away like this, it's often hitting off things and rolling on - if it could easily be damaged like this, then it would stop running, and you could restart, without having to wait for the bike to finish cruising the next few click's by itself....  :D
anyway, a suggestion, food for thought....  :)

a fair amount of tweaking yielded some rather nice results, imho -
thought i'd share these two shiny Ducati's with any interested parties.

hi all
i hope this hasn't been mentioned already, but currently if i join a server with certain bikeset settings, i find that when i then leave the online session and return to offline, that i am'locked' into the settings of the server - for example, the server only allows GP1000 bikeset, and when i leave the server and return to offline mode, i only have GP1000 bikeset available to me. this can only be cured by restarting GPB.
it'd definitely be a step in the right direction if this was fixed.
thanks for reading.  :D

been mostly painting these last few days as my ISP usually seems to run out of steam the last few days of each month, making anything online-oriented quite problematic.
so thought i'd share another one, this another GP Suzuki inspired version of the Murasama  :)

Hi all (mainly PiB, lol)
this is something, although i don't feel it's crucial in any way, but would really be cool, that i'd love for the sim to do.
currently, each time you choose a different bike model to ride, it loads with the default paint.
wouldn't it be cool if it would load each bike with the last paint used?
as i usually have a favorite paint for each bike i ride, i currently have to cycle through the available paints to get to the one i want, or at least, select it from the drop-down list.
it would greatly improve my experience if the sim would load each bike with the last used paint.
or am i just a really lazy bugger?  ;D
thanks for reading!   8)

Hey guys
just noticed this today, looks like Milestone has just released another game featuring the Ducati brand....
don't know much about it yet, but as it's Milestone, i'm not expecting a simulator, but rather yet another watered down bollocks-up of a bike game.

Hi PiBoSo
i've been thinking about this a lot recently while trying out different controller configurations, and i really think it might be a good idea, if ithis can be done, as it would free up an extra controller input function, maybe?
Basically, those few times when you are 'walking' the bike back or forward should never interfere with the rider leaning forward or back while at speed for aerodynamic/braking effects, so i think this might make things a little easier all round, if the same inputs could be used, and it would simply 'transition' between which to use depending on the speed of the bike (walking speed/anything else...)
Just a thought, thrown out into the world-wise web, lol  ;D

General Discussion / You know you're having fun when.....
December 02, 2015, 09:11:33 AM
you're trying to do yet another fastest lap, when the bike suddenly dies, and.... you ran out of fuel  ;D
has happened to me on several occasions, usually when i'm just in a great rhythm on the circuit, lol
today it was the new MotoGP M1, at Mugello. what a blast!  8)

okay, so here's the events as they unfolded.
initial control setup worked as usual, all functions assigned no problem.
i use a Logitech F310 gamepad, and i assign the down direction on the D-pad as rear brake. (i am loathe to compromise on this, it's what i'm used to, and anything else just doesn't work for me)
all went well, until i just now added the xinput plugin and tried that out. from the get-go i could see that this wasn't working - firstly, it made no difference to the axis that i can see.
the xinput thread says i am supposed to see a C1 axia, as oppose dto J1 - this is not happening, all i have is the usual J axis.
anyway, as i could see that this wasn't going to make any difference to my axis setup, i decided to take the Murasama for a spin around Victoria.
i noticed immediately that my rear brake wasn't working, so i went back in to the settings and found that the rear brake was now mysteriously unassigned all of a sudden.
having suffered from this issue in the past with my b6 version - more on that in a moment - i thought i'll just reassign it, as i have in the past.
but no, the rear brake does not assign anything, a am pressing on the D-pad repeatedly, and the setup simply does nothing, as if i'm not pressing anything.
so, end result - i am now unable to assign rear brake to the button i am most comfortable with.
then i figured that maybe the xinput plugin is the cause, seeing as the problem only appeared after adding it.
however, removing the xinput plugin made no difference. i am still unable to assign the rear brake to the D-pad button as in the past, and am now at a total loss as to what to try next.
i am not happy about this, obviously, as i am now in effect unable to ride properly.
a while back, while still on b6, i posted in the forum for help with an intermittent brake problem.here - http://forum.piboso.com/index.php?topic=2615.msg38492#msg38492
as you can see, there were no replies at all, so safe to assume no-one has had a similar problem.
what i can eliminate is any problem with the gamepad itself - it's virtually brand-new, and there's no issue with the D-pad buttons on any of the other games i've tried it with.
signed
super frustrated at having endless control issues.  :P

edit - if it helps, the entry inside controls.txt file of my profile shows the rear brake is assigned as it should be - in other words, it's the same entry for other profiles from my b6 version, and it looks as follows:

CTRL_REARBRAKE AXIS E077BE90-1020-11E5-8001-444553540000 1 0 0.000000 0.000000 0.000000 0 0.000000 0.000000 0 1.000000 0.000000 0.000000

so, from here it looks as if the rear brake is correctly assigned.
however, in the ingame settings, it shows as unassigned, and it won't let me assign a control. what the holy heck...?
