I know, I wrote the post there ;D
I develop a script with an american to import data from CSV to DLog99 and then, you can import it into gems or AEMData.
I can MP it if you want ;)
If the format is easy I can write a plugin that logs data directly in the right format, no script needed.

Can you post here an example of logged data that is readable by GEM/AEM ?

MaX.

P.S.
We already had a nice telemetry app for WRS/GPB, but the developer (random) is no longer on the forums hence the app no longer works for GPB beta4/4b :( It's a pity cause changes to do were trivial and the app was rather good for our needs.

Hmmm ... just found that: http://www.gems.co.uk/?content=pages&id=gems-data-analysis
Reading here (http://www.autosportlabs.org/viewtopic.php?t=3731&sid=ac99502f094278d972061e4955c0f6db) it seems AEM stuff is based on GEM stuff and GEM seems to be able to read CSV data, interesting.

Will give it a try once back home.

Hmm ... had a quick look but I fear that yes, AEMdata Data Analysis Software is free, but the format it requires is not documented.
I may be wrong but ...

If anybody use similar products with car games (rF, iRacing etc) I can have a look to do the same for gpb.
Anybody using this stuff in KRP ?

Telemetry data is available: it can be activated (http://forum.piboso.com/index.php?topic=19.0) but the format is a bit weird.

If you are familiar with C or any other programming language you can read the plugin example here: http://www.gp-bikes.com/downloads/gpb_example.c).

I'll have a look at AEMData: if its format is not a nightmare, it should take a few minutes to me to code a plugin that logs data to be displayed by AEMData. But it will have to wait once I'm back home (01 Jan).

Creating an appropriate physics for that will be a real challenge, but if all goes well, that would be a blast and, I'm sure, a real plus for GPB sales !

The whole book is very interesting, definitely worth its price if the difficulty is not a problem.

I'd say that different engine types (stock, track, hrc kit and sbk) would have to go to different mods.
Maybe one day we'll have records per bike (or per bike category) so it wouldn't make sense to have one single mod spanning different categories.

You may also run into troubles with the ECU: likely there's no TCS on the stock and tracks, but there may be on the sbk. Same for other controls (anti wheeling, engine brake etc). Just like with the gearing: stock --> no changes possible (well, this can be argued).

I think it will be hard to find, as it is a very specialized book.

You can read chapters 1 and 2 here, it should give you an idea of the content: http://books.google.ro/books?id=rJTQxITnkbgC&printsec=frontcover&hl=it#v=onepage&q&f=false

Still have to read the first link, but the second one (feet first) is garbage: it contains some big errors (as pointed out by a comment at the bottom of the page). Avoid.

If somebody is into some detailed explanation of motorcycle physics, probably the biggest reference around is this book : http://www.amazon.co.uk/Motorcycle-Dynamics-Vittore-Cossalter/dp/1430308613

I have it and I've read it at least 3 times. Author is an italian university professor (Padova) specialized on motorbikes, he's worldwide known.

Caution though, it's a bit technical: you'll need some decent physics/mechanics knowledge to understand everything (but you can still grasp a lot of stuff even without).

Uh ... he's just explaining counter-steering or am I missing something ?

That's used all the time, on track and on roads, by bikes and bicycles.
Every bike/bicycle rider uses counter-steering, but most of them just are not aware.

It's explained very clearly in many places around the web, Wikipedia for example: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Counter-steering

P.S.
When I got my bike driving license (in france) I had to practice this.

hahaha Max, I am almost sure you (125cc) went by me (990cc) in beta1 last year  ;D
It happened m,ultiple times, with others and, to be honest, turn 1 at victoria is the perfect spot to do that.

But I'm positive I couldn't do that to you any more :)

One thing I like of the 125 + Victoria is when you (on the 125) blaze past some (likely inexperienced) rider on a 990 on the 1st turn ... priceless :)
