I think the goal to have realistic lap times is almost impossible to achieve, way too many factors at play.
The simple fact GPB is "close enough" or even "in the ballpark" is already very good.

on the KRp forum I read this concerning the next KRP release (note, it wasn't Piboso stating the below):

- add the night version of at least the main tracks with artificial illumination.

Is this confirmed and is this planned for GPB/WRS too ?

1. A lot of players on the hotlap server tonight (Victoria). At a given point I'm all alone and in the practice recap I see all the best times of the players that have left and mine (done 52 laps).
Another player joins, rides a few laps and then he has a core.exe. He reconnects but he no longer see any lap for me nor best time, as if I had done no lap at all.
On the other hand, I had my 52 laps and my bet time on the recap page. He tries to reconnect but has the same.
I try to ride a lap but after  a few meters I get a core.exe. When I reconnect, here's the strangest thing, I have zero laps and no best time, but all the other players (the ones that had left before) have their laps and best times.

2. Something I noticed multiple times: when you ride and a rider BEHIND you crashes (goes out of track and falls), I see some graphical artefacts blasting somewhere in front of me (looks like his bike or some parts of it tumbling). It's very quick but noticeable.

Groove (rubber on the track) helps a lot, but we had a groove on the Victoria server (online) even before ...

There're plenty of reasons to avoid Win 8, but there's absolutely no reason to avoid Win 7: works flawlessly for me, can't even remember when I had the last blue screen (I think I had maybe 4-5 in 5 years, and mostly due to AMD drivers ...).

Have to say that, in terms of sales, the recent moves (shutting the forum down, removing the beta3 download link and the license purchase page) can't do any good. In particular the last two.

However, you can be sure that a beta4 (or a v1) with less online problems, minor improvements on the physics and bike slots (even only bike slots, not even moddable physics) would give you a bump in GPB sales. Granted.

And if money is an issue, there are ways to mitigate that.
