i use manual rider lean but with a diy headtracker. I think it depend on how you are used to it to make you faster or slower. Anyway many rider that was fast and who's switch from auto to manual rider lean says it make you slower but i don't know if it is caused by rider not be used to manual control or if it really make you slow

And you have compared this with what ? cause personnaly, i never drive a real race car, but i drive a normal / sport car every day and if you're asking me how the abarth drive then i can tell you it's pretty close to reality, i even feel more "weght tranfert" in AC than other sim !

Off Topic / what "simulation" is and what "sim-cade" is ?
February 05, 2018, 07:31:36 AM
I don't understand one thing, i regularly ear people here saying assetto corsa is not a simulation but a sim-cade (especially RFactor 2 fan). I just want to know from what base they said Rfactor is a simulation and assetto a sim-cade. Physics ? FFB ? what ? cause in my opinion all is pretty close to each other (RF2, Assetto, I racing, Automobilista etc ...).

the only difference is i notice is that one is slightly better at one thing than other, and another one is slightly better on another thing ......

A fact is that lot's off peole say Rfactor have a better FFB than other but kunos reply to that they made the wheel FFB mimic only what you feel on a wheel on real life, so if you want to feel the rear sliding you have to build or buy a motion system ... etc ....

i've notice that on a hard braking, if you move the rider backward you have less "stoopie" effect. as well as on a startup you have less wheelie if you move forward !
186
wich mean, it change grip along race, i dry progressively and localy where rider pass etc .....

ce qui veut dire que le grip change a chaque passage (depot de gomme), et que si la piste est mouillé elle sechent progressivement et localement la ou les pilotes passent !

General Discussion / Re: In replay only 2 laps?

Are you riding the GP 500 bikes ? if yes, i think the 2 strokes smoke effect  take a lot of replay memory, i solve it with Jose's solution to .....

Custom hardware / Re: Project Realistic Rig
February 02, 2018, 06:15:42 AM
I think the only way you could really mimic real life bike handling is the following :

have a bike frame monted on a motion system (i think even 2 Dof is enough) with the axis of rotation on the wheel position. the motion system will be receiving the bike leaning information from gpbikes.

Then you have a handlebar mounted like the way it would be in real life with a ffb motor and electronically locked at 20° when you reach 40 km/h. it will directly controll the steering input on gpbikes.

Then you'll have an ed tracker mounted on your head or your shoulder that will input the rider lean to gpbike.

The steering input plus the rider lean input will dictated the bike lean angle wich will be outpouted by gpbikes to the frame motion system.

With that system, you'll solve the problem of the missing gyroscope force wich will be not present as in real life because you have just to turn the steering the opposite side when you want to go back straight after leanin, to also limit the effort you have to make when staying at full lean position, you can limit the frame leaning angle to a smaller angle than IRL.

The main problem with that rig is of course the price !
The second one is that nobody is producing such a rig till now so you have to make it yourself.

So i think you if you are not a millionaire, and don't have Einstein's QI (wich i think 90% of normal people are) then DD's handle bar is the perfect solution.

Change the title to english cause only piboso can help you and not sur he understand your title.
Change ton titre en anglais car seul Piboso peut t'aider et je doute qu'il parle le français couramment

The crash when you try to lean instantely when release the brake is totally normal and moto 2 behave like that in real life (you can see lovely rear slide only in moto 2 in real life) . It is cause by the engine brake you have to wait for the tyre to re grip on the rear before being able to lean, otherwise your rear would slide as it should be. It is way more present in the KTM moto 2 2017 than on the KALEX one.v

He said making AI is quite simple (fo his level of course) but the hardest thing is to make competitive fast AI, especially with gpbikes pure simulation system !

Documentation / Re: Direct steer

The virtual rider doesn't work in Direct Steer mode, you have to do the balance yourself, like in real life. That's exactly the point with Direct Steer !

Support / Re: Can't Shifting when Braking (Rear)
January 24, 2018, 06:30:44 AM
Braking in real life (road riding i mean) and in race is absolutely different, in real life you brake suddenly and on an emmergency braking . in a race you have to think braking in the next corner when your still in the previous one. Except if you want to slide the rear of your bike or want to control the traction when exiting a corner (especially on old bike without or with poor TC), rear brake is almost useless in a race, front brake + engine brake is way more efficient. Anyways, one of the fact why Jorge Lorenzo is strugling with the ducati is that he say he need to use more the rear brake, when he almost never used it on the Yamaha. He didn't precise when he need to use the rear brake.
