I'm here for just 1 and half a years, and had already seen at least 2 topic like this, i think the main problem is that, does Piboso himself agree to take GPB into a "structured/professional/commercial" development environnement, i don't know what is the answer but it seems no. I may be wrong but it seems that the 4 sims is he's baby, and he want to devellop it himself as far as possible. This thing had of course good and bad side, the good one is that software and especially sims like GPbike need consistancy developpement and i'm glad to see that piboso manage to pratically do it "alone" (i think he work with 4 other people but for sound, graphic design etc... and not development, correct me if i'm wrong). The bad side is that Piboso is just a  human, and not matter how much skilled and passionate he is, develloping 4 of such a software is just physically to much for 1 person ....
In the other side, bring it into a structured and commercial development environnemnt could also alter the game quality .......

Madagascar, but as far as i know Malagasy (the people of madagascar) take it's origin from Malaysia, so surely Malesian also has long names

I'm from a country wich i think people had the longest name in the world, my full name is : NJATOHARIJAONA radomampionona Tiaray (good luck trying to read it  ;D). My parent give me the surname "poun' wich is a shorten version of "mampionona" read "mampiun". My wife call me pouny, but i had an uncle that never managed to call me "poun". He always called me "Poum". So the first time i created an email address, i don't know why but the first name that came into my brain was poumpouny  ;D.

Hello,
as this topic, http://forum.piboso.com/index.php?topic=5212.0 , i got problem softlocking my wheel (logitech G920) below 180°. I'm searching for a solution since one month, i've try everithing even the logitech official forum, but didn't find solution. I posted my problem in a french simracing forum and gyus says that they didn't manage to soflock any wheel (Commercial, and even DIY wheels) below 180°. I don't mean here the efficient range, i mean the softlock (when the FFB block the wheel rotation at a given degres of rotation).

So i just wan't to confirm if what they said is true (180° is the minimum softlock limit).

Thanx

Here is the link to activate Direct Steer Hardcore mode :

http://forum.piboso.com/index.php?topic=28.0

You'll find the prifile files in : Documents>Piboso>Gpbikes>Username>profile.ini

you put the code in the .inin file then save it, and restart Gpbikes

Concerning DST and DSA, I still didn't choose between the two, in my opinion DSA is more suitable for rapid direction change an is more natural becaus the steering angle match you wheel angle, so i think it is more suitable for wheel. DST in the other side seems to be more precise on small input, and accelleration help you more keep the bike up in DST tha DSA.

Yes i Tryed to balance the bike without rider lean input but the only way i could get out of the pit is use the "low speed" to make the bike straight to the road, and then make a hard acceleration start, wich will be no suitable in race cause you will lose too much time if you fall.

Hi DRZ !

when i play in DST/DSA mode, at very low speed, i just center my steering and balance the bike with rider lean (controlled by a DIY headtracker) very difficult to handle the bike in low speed with steering.

DST = Direct Steer with Torque, wich mean, GPB convert your input signal (no matter gamepad, wheel or real torque input) into a torque, then apply it to the virtual handle bar, then handle bar "turn" depending on how much torque you"re applying (on a wheel the torque depend on how far you turn the wheel). then gp bikes calculate the lean angle resulting from the handle bar angle that is resulting the torque.

DSA = Direct Steer with Angle, it just match the virtual handlebar rotation to you're input rotation, then calculate the resulting bike lean from that.

In all case, there is no "leaning limit" you have to find the lean limit of the bike your self, and of course you'll fall if you exceed the lean angle limit of a bike (depend on bike, tyre grip, COG etcc ....)

The 125 is not representative of GPbikes at all, it is buged since couple of beta release, much better with the varese and the Marusama default bike, and even more with bike and track mod, and as a plus you have WRS included in the price ! :D
234
Are you joining a server with open category, if it's the case, your bike mod need to match the exact bike mod the server are using. Ary you using the latest bikemod version "29th of september release". Have you properly put bike in bike folder and tyres in tyres folder ?

General Discussion / Re: Any way to limit lean angle?

DST/DSA hardcore mode with Gamepad i think Klax is the only guy who manage to ride with (and he had a personal reason for that). Speaking of Wheel, you need to controll rider lean manually to really be able to drive in hardcore mode (virtual rider doesn't work in hardcore mode). i'm controlling my rider lean with DIY headtracking, i'm able to do one or to lap without falling in victoria but with an extreme and not natural effort) i know i have experienced hardcore mode since "only" 2 mounth. Counter steering is cool when you have dedicated high end controller ( a frame mounted on a motor or actuator, with a torque or a steer input with FFB that dictate the frame physical lean (so you know physicaly your lean angle) and a motion tracker pinned to your clothes to track the virtuar rider lean) that way it would be the best motorcycle game experience (and even with that you wouldn't have the centrifugal force that help you to pull up your bike after leaning). with a wheel you only have the front wheel ffb, you don't even know your lean angle in 1st person view you's just guessing it, and i think it's very unnatural ! anyway hardcore mode is cool if one day i manage to really deal with it (even if it still will be unnatural compared to a real bike)

Edit: the "Smooting thing" in normal steering mode with gamepad doesn't work in hardcore mode, i mean the "Direct Lean" smothing, you need to controll preciselly the steering input with your finger with the gamepad analog stick   ;D

To be honest, i've ride the demo 125 for about 10 minutes and then immediately buy the game (i'm from Milestone's moto gp game so it was a shock). I tryed the demo in the time the 125 bikes wasn't bugged ( i din't understand why Mr Pib still didn't fix that bike when you know it's the only bike who comes with the demo ).

About the hardcore mode, it's totally normal that you're frustrated  ;D i've been for 2 mounth lol. i love hardcore sim but find it too much difficult largelly more than a real bike (certainly because of lack of feed back you got from the controller. I'm using a G29 wheel). I've made a suggestion in the wishlist section to make a mixed version of DST/DSA hardcore mode and the normal stearing / leaning mode. Wich will consist in you ride the bike in normal mode, but let you to find the bike maximum lean angle, so you fall if you get past the maximum angle depending on speed, tyre grip, bike COG etc. Counter steering is a god thing but without a high end motion controller with torque input, it seems very unnatural and too hard to ride, and there's no point it should be more difficult than a real bike.

Cool ! some serious improvement and as always not from milestone  :o.

Edit : Still very far for Gpbikes, but good improvement, need lot more work on collision !

Anyway with the gpbikes Engine brake + Rear brake bug (the bikes behave as if you switch to neutral gear when you downshift and rear brake at the same time) rear brake is useless. Personnaly i use rear brake only when i go too wide to slide a little bit and correct trajectory !
