General Discussion / Stuggling to connect to servers
March 17, 2018, 01:49:09 PM
Have been connecting fine for the last year or so, but now after not playing for a couple of weeks, i just get stuck on the "syncing" screen when i try connecting to any server. Nothing changed with my install so i'm just wondering if i've missed an update or something?
Tracks all load fine offline...
Cheers

Tracks / Track Request - Almeria Spain
January 30, 2018, 10:50:31 AM
Basically I'm off there this summer and want to get in some practice learning the track....so I guess this is a completely selfish request lol.

They have 2 tracks side by side - Almeria & Andalucia and 2018 is the first year where they are joining the 2 tracks into one mega - 10km long circuit. It'd be epic on GPB!

Anyway....as you were  8)

thanks chaps!

I ended up copying the files in the Docs/Piboso/GP Bikes folder but going on what you've just said David I think i'll drop the v13 files back in and just find the settings you mentioned. Thanks again...LOVING trainer mode! Even if he does get in the way a bit  :o 8)

Looking great thanks Pib!

Quick question - which files should I copy across in order to keep my view settings/controller settings/Max HUD settings etc?

Thanks DD

This method really needs tidying up if we want more people to get involved with GPB.

I'm by no means a fast rider and only really concentrated on trail braking in the last couple of years, but what I have found is that i've been leaning more and more on the front tyre and yet to lose any traction whatsoever. I'd consider myself a fairly smooth rider so rarely have any moments with loss of traction at either end of the bike, so this helps I guess.

What i've noticed with GPBikes is that the gyroscopic effect of trail braking into corners seems to be quite good...grab a little too much front brake and the bike wants to stand up and therefor push you wide of the apex. This is true for track riding as well.

It's amazing how hard you can actually push a front tyre trailing into corners, but the key is smoothness. You constantly hear stories in the pitlane of trackday hero's "losing the front" or "sliding the rear" and I'd suggest 90% of these are simply because the rider inputs are too wild and not smooth enough, as opposed to the tyre being at it's limit. This is similar to GPB, where you more than likely are taking bigger risks than real life and as a result, more aggressive inputs to the steering/brakes.

I don't really know what my point is here, just some waffle to add to the equation I guess....

Bikes / Re: Core.exe help!

I had a similar issue with upgrading to beta 12!

Have you downloaded the full Tyres folder from the Bikemod repositary? Download the full folder so you have all tyres.

Try downloading just one bike at a time and dropping the .pkz file in the Bikes folder. Don't copy over any bikes from your old GPB folder as this is what was giving me some issues.

So in your GPBikes folder you should have a "tyres" folder (containing tyre pkz's) and a "bikes" folder (containing the bikes pkz)

Surely there's more important and pressing issues with GPB development rather than a fancy leg dangle?

eheh, it's a tricky one but i've found you can carry a lot more speed through there than you initially think.....if you get the line right anyway lol...

I was really impressed with how smooth you both looked out there, that's definitely an area i need to improve on.

I was really struggling with turn 1 (i think maybe just need to be less greedy with the brakes) and the right hander going up the hill, i think it's Arrabiata 2??

haha it was great fun!!

My heartrate must have doubled when we got close on track....just hearing another bike was really bizarre considering i've been in solitude for so many months lol. Completely missed my braking markers on a few occasions because of watching you or Adalgood but I think I learned more in that hour than I have done the entire time of playing GPB, so thanks!

Now i'm seriously tempted to take my xbox pad to work with me lol

Hi,
For the folder problem=> have you all the rights to the new location ? Modify and write ?
Yeah i've tried a few different locations and checked the folder permissions as that was initially a problem. I'll have another play later and post back
