General Discussion / Stuggling to connect to servers
March 17, 2018, 01:49:09 PM
Have been connecting fine for the last year or so, but now after not playing for a couple of weeks, i just get stuck on the "syncing" screen when i try connecting to any server. Nothing changed with my install so i'm just wondering if i've missed an update or something?
Tracks all load fine offline...

Tracks / Track Request - Almeria Spain
January 30, 2018, 10:50:31 AM
Basically I'm off there this summer and want to get in some practice learning the track....so I guess this is a completely selfish request lol.

They have 2 tracks side by side - Almeria & Andalucia and 2018 is the first year where they are joining the 2 tracks into one mega - 10km long circuit. It'd be epic on GPB!

Anyway....as you were  8)

Support / First Person Dashboard?
September 10, 2017, 03:41:18 PM
Just wondering if it's possible to show some kind of working dashboard whilst in first person view? I have the MaxHUD but it'd be useful to see revs, engine modes etc. You get one in third person but I can't find an option to show it in first....or am I being blonde?

General Discussion / Missing openAL32.dll
August 19, 2017, 01:31:28 PM
had a slight whoopsie with some malware yesterday and now when I try loading GPB I'm getting an error with core.exe - missing openAL32.dll

I had some Windows violations but these have been resolved and i'm fairly certain that I can resolve the issue with GPB by reinstalling, but I was just interested to see if anyone's had the same issue and if it can be fixed without a reinstall?

Support / Help me please before I lose my marbles!!!
August 05, 2017, 02:19:53 PM
I'm sure i'm not alone here, but as a newbie to GPB, and simulators/PC gaming in general...i'm really struggling!

I downloaded GPB back in February and feel like i've progressed about 0.2%...if my GPB timeline was evolution, i'd still be bacteria floating around in the ocean.

I've played it on and off since Feb, totalling probably around 300 laps of Victoria...i'd say 5-10% of those are without crashing. As a general rule I probably crash 2-3 times a lap, which means i'm now great at doing u-turns and slow manouvers....but let's face it, i'm not here to do my CBT.

I've tried slow and steady and i've tried riding the bike pretending i'm Rossi. I've tried stock 600's, 125 2 strokes, GP, moto2 bikes but it just seems like luck if I complete a lap without crashing no matter how or what I ride.

So i'm here asking....begging...pleading for any tips for a complete rookie like me - please, before my laptop feels the wrath of the living room window!!

I dunno, maybe I should just stick to watching motorbike racing and playing candycrush  :-[

General Discussion / Howdy!
January 30, 2017, 05:59:00 PM
Hey all, newbie reporting in  8)

Just wanted to introduce myself as I'm currently downloading the GP Bikes demo and can see myself losing a lot of life to this game! I've been away from PC gaming (and all gaming really) for about 12 years but stumbled across a review for this simulator whilst searching for "Ride" (sorry for swearing) videos on the tube. It looks amazing!

I'm really excited to get into it but just wanted to run a couple of noobie questions past you first - PC Spec. I have an HP SomethingBook with an i5-4210U (quad) 1.7GHz processor & 12GB RAM but just running the onboard Intel Graphics card. Will this be ok to run the game? Is it Windows 10 friendly? Tbh i've been looking for an excuse to revert back to 7 for a while now and this could be it...

Gaming pads - I have a couple of old Eggbox 360 pads kicking around and I'm pretty sure people use these with their PCs....mine are both wireless so any advice on this appreciated.

Thanks in advance, looking forward to spending some time on these forums!

Joeski,
