Does practice start at 20:00? Or does the race start at 20:00?

Imo, there should be the option to set the opacity. Like vini said, don't use it if you don't like it. Another way the trainer could be done, is like other games have done it. The ghost stays 0% opaque until the player gets within 0.5 seconds of the ghost, then the ghost goes to 90-100% opaque.

It would also be nice to have the option to set how much time in advance the trainer bike should be ahead (currently 0sec; should be adjusted from 0 to 5 sec for example).
That way you could better understand the lines and follow the ghost.

This is a great idea also.

Racing / Re: Could we get a permanent MotoGP server?
January 22, 2018, 12:07:40 PM
I will be setting up some servers today for the discord group. I'll make one of them a motogp server. I have had a motogp server before and it was never that popular. I'll see how this one does. Any track requests?

welcome!

since you have a sim racing background, you likely have steering wheel. it works well with GP Bikes. and the FFB is decent. sure, the Hs3 system would be the best way to go, but until then you can use a controller or steering wheel. i actually own the controller in those pictures and there is no way i can use it in gpbikes. i get crazy flexing and creeking noises when i use it. i feels like it could break easily. maybe you would have better luck with it, but i much prefer my steering wheel.

i used softs. i was worried, but they held up. my last lap was close to pb time. i was very conservative when it came to braking. when i push, i really struggle not crashing under heavy braking. so i took that approach to the entire race. it paid off.

Despite almost taking out half the grid at the start, and a few crashes, I did much better then i thought I would do. I had a great time. Very fun on these bikes. Manu, you're a genius.

Despite of 2 crashes and 2 other mistakes which cost me some time, I'm excited. Bike is very rideable, I'm able to do 16 laps without crash... and also I had nice battle with some riders :)

That was some nice battling, Gzehoo. The last few laps were intense. Good race.

Here's my view...

If the online bugs are fixed will CAWS servers be returning? Or is there another reason for shutting down?

I use Bu0836 controllers and each has its own ID number in windows and so do EdTracker units. In windows it is fine so I think Piboso would have to make this happen in GPB for certain devices. The BU boards are fine but not figured 2 ET's yet.

DD

have you tried using 1 edtracker ingame like normal, and a 2nd edtracker configured thru vjoy, and used ingame by selecting vjoy as a controller instead of the 2nd edtracker?

You could likely use vjoy to use a second identical controller.  Idk, if that would work tho. I think it's worth a try.

History always shows that it's often those that speak loudest who are in the minority? ;D

looks like you're the loud mouth so far  ::) ;D

j/k. i'm interested to see how most ppl feel on the matter. personally, i don't see a downside to having ghosts.

It would be interesting to know from you, who just a few days ago wrote: "Eliminate Third Person View - It's a simulator, not a game... ", why the ghost rider is acceptable in GP Bikes.

some concessions should be made. if there are no ghosts strictly to keep GPB a sim, then by that reason 3rd person view shouldn't be allowed either. but it is allowed because the majority use it. i think the majority of ppl here would use the ghosts, so they should be considered(as long as its possible) being put in GPB. no?

ghosts should be treated like 3rd person view. if you don't like it, don't use it. ghosts would also be somewhat of an alternative to AI. it would be something to do by oneself when there is nobody else online to practice with.
