Hi Arvoss.

I'm getting a "Connection Timeout" on the Misano GP Direction server. Any idea what's happening? Maybe needs a server restart?

Hi RBp.

Just like to say thank you that you are taking into consideration all bikes being rideable on the surface of all the tracks your working to smooth. I'm sure we all appreciate that very much.

Thanks mate! ;D 8)

Tracks / Re: Track Downloads

Hi Guys!

Saturday 8th March 2014

Updated the MEGA "Track Downloads" database with:
  • Misano GP Direction.zip (Previously known as Misano 01 track file..I have renamed the Misano 01 zip file name to "Misano GP Direction.zip"
to save confusion but, when you unzip that archive you must use the unzipped track folder name of "Misano 01"
for your track folder otherwise it will create data mismatch errors.)
    .

Credits go to RBp and Arvoss for pointing out this mistake for me.

Thanks for your help guys, very much appreciated!
  ;)

Anyone have a download link please, only seeing misano 02 to download

I think Hawk_UK thought that misano01 was an 'older version'. ;) Misano01 = GP Direction, Misano02 = Other direction ;)

Misano GP Download link:

I am aware of this problem that creates confusion by those who do not know, but the track file names in the "Track Downloads" Mega database are exactly as the track author named the files. It would be silly of me to name them otherwise as it would currently activate the online server "Data Mismatch" error and that really would create confusion..... Track authors need to name their files correctly to save confusion.  :)

The Track Downloads Database is for the downloading of tracks used on Dibu's online servers only and therefore only has "Misano 02" as Misano 01 isn't currently on the server track list, but I will contact dibu and investigate this, as I may have made a mistake? I will report back here ASAP. Thanks guys. ;)

Hi Guys...

I do apologise to you guys. Having contacted dibu, I now realise that I have obviously deleted the Misano 01 track file from the database thinking it was an old version of Misano 02; my mistake, you were right Arvoss.  :-[

So, what I have done is to rename the Misano 01 zip file name to "Misano GP Direction" but, when you unzip that archive you must use the original track folder name of "Misano 01" for your track folder otherwise it will create data mismatch errors.

Thanks go to dibu for the solution to this problem and RBP/Arvoss for alerting me to this problem. Thanks guys... Appreciated as always. ;) ;D

PS: The "Misano GP Direction.rar" file is now available from the "Track Downloads" database: https://mega.co.nz/#F!eNVSADpZ!a6u3dBMlFT8zw5x7K68eVg

REF: Cutting Ena Pergusa NC Chicanes - Thanks for looking into this Arvoss. It maybe a good idea to switch tracks until Noss69 can update the track with some invisible barriers around the chicanes involved? Maybe switch it to the newly smoothed Silverstone Track? I'm going to give it a test on the 125cc bike to see if it's surface is okay for the 125 bikes now. Also it would be quite interesting, as this opportunity has raised, and as Klax has mentioned before in the forum, to have not been able to practice on the track until actual race weekend as it is in reality(In this case it would also be good in that know one would have known which tracks will be used for this weekend until today and therefore know one would have even been able to practice offline in test mode because we just wouldn't know which track was going to be used this weekend; just adds a little more realism to race weekends I think.  ;D 8)

This is just a suggestion to allow Noss69 to do an update on the Enna Pergusa Track before we use it later in the championships. It will save having to look through the whole replay(for every rider) to see if anyone was taking advantage of the chicane run-thru's.

I'll report back here concerning the 125cc bike and Silverstone.

Update: I've tried the Silverstone track on the 125cc bike and although there are a couple of corners you have to be a little careful on, I think it's quit rideable, but try it and see for yourselves.

PS: I've also PM'd Noss69 to see if he can update Enna Pergusa with some invisible barriers around the problem chicanes.

Just a note about the race on sunday: Are we going to have disqualifications for any rider who cuts the corners on sunday? I noticed it's very easy to gain a lot of lap time by cutting corners on the Enna Pergusa NC track(Really needs some invisible barriers putting up on those corners to stop it).

Guys, I just think we should keep the race genuine and between the lines for the actual race on sunday.  :P ;)

Why are you talking about Silverstone???
The title is NORDSCHLEIFE, not Silverstone, it was not me who touch silverstone.

Sorry janaucarre, we know it was RBp who smoothed Silverstone, but thought it was you who probably created/converted the Silverstone circuit too. I do apologise mate.  :)

Any chance you know who did create/convert the Silverstone track so we can maybe PM them about this hole in the track? Maybe Noss69?

Thanks janaucarre.  :)

Hi sim2lew.

Any chance of seeing the shaded wire frame view? I model in 3D and I like to see others peoples creations topology.

Well done. Nice job indeed... Looks great! ;D

There is a hole in the Silverstone Circuit. It's were the bridge is on the left side of the track. I flipped over going over the track rise just before the bridge and the bike skidded into the bridge on the left of the track and fell through a hole.

Hope this helps.  :)

Maybe Piboso can use something from MXBikes for the GPBike rider model because in Motocross is a lot more body contact than in RoadRacing....

Yes. I did post on the thread Piboso started on MXBikes that he needs to make sure that the bike/rider collision model would need to be a detailed model for online racing due to the greater contact that goes on with MXBike racing. MXBikes looks great at the moment riding around on it's own, but when guys go online and start to bump each other in the corners then if the collision model is the same as for GP Bikes then it wouldn't work at all. I did notice that Piboso never responded to my post, so I'd guess that the MXBikes collision model has yet to be refined to cope.  :)

It's okay now! All is well again! Lol

Something strange going on with the internet connections lately. Started this morning when I couldn't connect to the forum because of a server DNS fault, then again about 20 mins ago when I struck up GP Bikes and couldn't even connect to see the online server list!! What is happening!! :P :o :o

What's happened to the online servers list? All I'm getting is connection error box appearing before even the list of servers appears.  :(

Anyone know what's happening?

@Max: I don't know who that guy was who was talking about were the rear wheel slides are today like with the old 500cc GP bikes, but in my opinion he has got it very wrong. Modern MotoGP riders spin that rear wheel up all the time, it's standard practice nowadays.
In the old days of 500cc GP bikes(and I'm talking about the 1970's - mid 80's) only a very few talented guys could slide the rear wheel like they do today. I think it was Freddie Spencer who really started it all off in that era with his incredible throttle control for the bikes of those days, and it became increasingly more so when the 500cc bikes started to get their big bang engines which I heard it reported that those engines upped the BHP from around 130bhp to 180-190BHP(Is this true?). In those days it took very real throttle control with that very narrow power band on the 2 stroke bikes. Today every rider is doing it; don't know if it's because of all that extra power at their wrist, or whether it's down to being able to set traction control to allow for some rear wheel slide but not enough to over do it? I believe it gives a modern MotoGP rider a greater range for errors before the bike will chew you up and spit you out, is that correct? I've never used traction control so I wouldn't really know.  :)

@Max: There is probably some romantic vision of the past, as there always is when you look back, but in this case I would have to say it is very small a romantic vision. Progress for progress sake is not always a good thing for a sport(Golf is a good example of the governing body banning so many so called advances in club technology to save the essence of what golf is all about, and the sport has continued to thrive because of their protection.), and in my opinion the very real progress in bike technology in MotoGP has ruined the very essence of what used to be called the blue ribbon event of road racing which was the "World Motorcycle 500cc GP championships"; it was the very pinnacle of motorcycle road racing until they decided to change to the four stroke machines. I mean, the MotoGP championships is no more interesting these days than watching the Super Bike Champs, or even club racing(well that's probably going too far there. LOL)
But basically what I'm saying is that MotoGP  has lost it's "Mojo" from what it used to be.
Huff! They even stopped push starts for christ sakes.... I mean what was that all about? Some twisted sense of safety creeping into racing? Lets wrap them all up in cotton wool, eh?! But then again, can you imagine poor little Danny Pedrosa trying to push start that Honda of his? Hehehe! ;D
