you can load the skin Klax 75, but not the skin Hawk-uf

It works fine for me.... Try to download the Hawk_UK skin again, that sometimes sorts out the problem.

Thanks for restating your post, Scapin. ;)

PS: the master was faster :P
Just because the springs below my (mechanical) keyboard keys are stiffer than yours :)

MaX.

@ MaX: LOL!  ;D

@Hawk: yes ;)

Hooray!! ;D

Thanks guys, I can get my head around it thinking of it in that way.

Now I'll go put my head on ice. Hehe

@Max/Stout: Hehe.... I'm determined to get my head around this, so in layman's terms:

  • Rebound: Low value setting = Faster extenstion of the suspension after hitting a bump
High value Setting = Slower extention of the suspension after hitting a bump

  • Bump: Low value setting = Faster compression of the suspension after hitting a bump
High value setting = Slower compression of the suspension after hitting a bump

Thanks for bearing with me guys. Hehe ;) ;D

One little to load(charge) KLAX 75 well but not Hawk-uk walks(works) not

Did you use google translator? I only ask because this really doesn't make any sense.

Can anyone else understand this?

Hi Max.

This is very interesting information! ;D

So on a ruff/bumpy track, if I set the springs pretty stiff, the bump high(to absord the bumps better), and the rebound high(to extend fast after hitting bumps), I should have better grip and handling? Do I have this correct?

Edit: Or is it with low rebound for this setting?

That leads me to the question:
Did they have 16,5" rims in the 2Stroke area?

I know that in the 2 stroke era they did use 16 inch rims at times, especially on the front and 17 in mainly on the rear. :)

Hey..... Have I actually found a subject that has foxed you physics guys?? Hehe

C'mon someone must know something about the workings of the bump and rebound settings to comment on whether they seem to work in GP Bikes or not?

Any takers? Max?.... C21?... Neoraptor?..... anyone?

C21/Max: Thanks for your explanations, it always great to have the in depth facts to what can seem a strange reaction while riding these bikes. Though we may not always understand exactly what you physics guys are talking about, I think we get the visual idea of what your saying, and it will help those would-be engine/bike tuners to adjust the physics files on GP Bikes. I'd love to give the physics files a try myself one day.

Thanks guys! ;D 8)

Somehow related, I managed to find an amazing video from the latest Bosch MSC (Motorcycle Stability Control): click on the two videos with the label "with MSC" here http://www.bosch-presse.de/presseforum/details.htm?txtID=6468&locale=en

Little explanation (and a real life test, including intentional low-side fall !) here:

http://www.youtube.com/v/bK2gENALKkM

It is already available (or will be this year, can't remember) on the KTM 1190 Adventure.

MaX.

Does this guy know how to ride a motorcycle? He leans his body away from the turn not into or with the turn, something that if you were a pillion passenger can be lethal!

However, having said that, it's a nice demonstration though I feel the rider is exaggerating the inputs a bit to get the desired response. ;)

Would setting the dead zone in the controller settings help stop this action? Or setting the controller to not be so linear?

No, nothing will help (Direct Lean ON helps, but I guess you already have it on).

Sorry, I must have been drunk, the above should read:

"No, nothing will help (Direct Lean OFF helps, but I guess you already have it off)."

Also noticed that sometimes not closing the throttle fully can help too.

MaX.

Okay Max. I was wondering if I'd got something wrong when I tried it. Hehe

Thanks for the correction, and I'll try feathering the throttle through chicanes instead of full closing it to see how that works out. ;)

The MEGA site is optimised for use with the Chrome browser. Firefox will work, but most people need the MEGA firefox plugin for it to work properly, and as far as Internet Explorer is concerned forget it altogether, it's useless most of the time for downloading from MEGA.

Anyway. I'm glad you've sorted the problem out. Enjoy! ;) ;D 8)

Scapin: Can you download tracks from Mega yet?

Just tested your work for the first time tonight, and I'm very impressed! All the bad bumps that were in the wrong places have been smoothed out very nicely indeed!

Good job well done RBp! ;D 8)

0.0.0 get's the model to show on screen you need to postion each item separate by moving it alittle in 3d max.
Hi RBp

As I understood it. The x0 y0 z0 is the reference point GP Bikes uses to position each part(Chasis/wheels/fsusp/rsusp, etc, etc) to it's correct position for rendering?

When you say you need to also move each item a little in 3ds max....   Well how much is a little move to get things right?

Let me list the procedure as I understand it:

  • In 3DS Max, separate each element required(Chasis/wheels/fsusp/rsusp, etc, etc).
  • Zero the transformations(x0 y0 z0) for those elements.
  • Export those elements to a newly created and named bike folder for use in GP Bikes(obviously the folder contains all the other required files too).

I'm still creating my bike model so I have not got to this stage yet, but this is how I understood the model intergration procedure for when I arrive at that situation. Have I got this procedure correct?

Throttle control....... in that split second easy on throttle.

I'm usually not on any throttle at all during the flick from left to right in the middle of a chicane, but still happens. However I'll certain make a point of keeping off the throttle as you said.

Thanks Abigor. ;)
