I've never known the engine sounds in slow-mo replays, even on TV motor sports slow-mo replays.....

Why on earth would you want or need the engine sounds in slow-mo replays? It would sound terrible. Lol! ;D

Quote from: AntonKA on July 28, 2020, 06:37:48 AMLooks good but it's not something extra yet, they still need work on it.

Unreal Engine 5 is due for a preview release in early 2021, with official release late 2021.  ;)

In my opinion, this is the best layout ever of the Assen TT Circuit.... Probably the best motorcycle road racing circuit in the world there has ever been.  ;D  8)

Yes, at the time there were safety issues especially the trees lining the track side, but surely they could've just took those trees away instead of totally bastardising the whole track itself. What they did to the Classic Assen TT Circuit layout was a massive crime in my book. Turned it into just a very average circuit.... Such a huge shame.  >:(  :'(  :'(

But whatever, what's happened has happened and it ain't going to change, but I would really like to see this layout and length rebuilt in a new venue somewhere.... It would be an absolute beauty!!  ;D

@Piboso: Could you elaborate further on your intentions to implement "Mod Registration" and exactly how that would work and effect modding for your projects in future? Thank you.

Why?

I take it from your reaction, that you didn't realise?

Quote from: h106frp on June 18, 2020, 10:16:08 PMI have been going through the usual re-tuning of a bike using Victoria and I have developed a bit of a new theory on what occurs at the bottom of Lukey Height/MG. After noticing the problem only ever occurs when entering the turn with high lean (you can always blast through it any old how when you pick it up after a drop) I wondered about chassis flex and damping, theory being that as the bike has a high lean angle we lose damping and travel from the suspension units and become dependant on the mechanical flex and damping - much in line witrh Vinis comments about the bikes being overly 'stiff' but maybe with a slightly different perspective.

With the newer inertia calcs it appears we have a bit more range to play with in the damping and chassis stiffness ranges and it does improve the situation very noticeably if you can add a bit of flex and damping to the chassis. It might be worth you trying and comparing it to what you obtain from tyre adjustments.

If you remember the problems bikes used to have on Silverstone entering that right hand rising bend as you exit from under the bridge, the front end always used to wash-out? Well that issue was fixed with correct chassis-flex settings if you remember mate? ;)

Quote from: Vini on June 19, 2020, 01:47:30 PMChassis flex has always influenced bike handling in GPB very positively. Sadly, a lot of mods are way too stiff.

Quote from: HornetMaX on June 19, 2020, 11:56:49 AMSide note: I think Victoria is a good test track. It has a bit of everything. Not sure why Vini crusades against it :)
Because I have ridden plenty of bikes there that seemed to be good but then revealed themselves to be absolute shite on more technical tracks. Victoria lacks slow corners, bumps, quick direction changes and hard braking. You only have all those long corners where you basically have enough time to get any bike to turn nicely.
The track is simply not bike dependent at all, that's partially why real MotoGP races are always so exciting there.

+1 Vini

Totally agree with your deductions about testing and track testing for bikeMOD devs, at least to get the bike handling well initially. ;)

Very nice job H! ;)  8)

@Mystic: I think Manu is trying to tell you that when tuning the tyres, you can't just alter a couple of values without those alterations affecting other factors in the tyre file that will need adjusting too to compensate? Correct me if I'm wrong Manu.  ;)

Quote from: Myst1cPrun3 on June 16, 2020, 02:28:17 PMEven if you hate the program I recommend joining the GPB Discord, as that's where most of the 'community' is these days, and due to restrictions on mods here on the forum's, most of them get released there first.

Hope I confused the matter even more  ;D

It's NOT "MODS" that have been restricted on the forum, It's links to "ILLEGAL" MODS that have been restricted; two totally different contexts mate. ;)

Anyone is free to post & link about their MODS if they have not been ripped, copied, or used & altered without any permissions from the original creator.

So feel free to post your "Legal" MODS here in the forum. It's not a problem at all. ;)

Quote from: Manu on June 11, 2020, 04:15:41 PMWhat killed 2T is that there was no impact on sales of two-stroke bikes while four-stroke dominated the streets.

Not so in the UK Manu.....

I'd say it was simply to do with the new laws the UK gov brought in at the time..... I personally suspect it being an economic plot to get people to buy 4t's instead of 2t's.... But the general reaction at the time was to not buy a bike at all and buy a car instead. That's what a cock-up the UK Gov made of the transition from 2t to 4t bikes in the UK market..... It would be different in other countries of course. ;)

Quote from: Myst1cPrun3 on June 11, 2020, 12:26:30 AMUp until 2002 when the MotoGP era started grids were shrinking and costs skyrocketing.

Granted the early 90s was worse, and they did use factory teams to sell engines and bikes to privateers, but it was very much a temporary plaster rather than a permanent operation, which is what was needed.

And what it got in the switch to 4 strokes.

I'm not saying there was no external factors such as management, sponsorships and manufacturer decisions etc, but overall the 2 stroke engines and motorcycles were too expensive to keep developing.

And there road application was limited even then, with 750s and 1000 twins taking over, so all that rnd money wasn't being returned to the manufacturers.

I do however wonder what 2 strokes would be like with todays rules, and what MotoGP would be like if we stuck to 2t

Granted we have the suter, but that's very much a compromise, (I imagine a perfect bike for you hawk) with no aids but modern fueling etc, but I don't believe it to be where MotoGP would have been.

Huh
That could be an idea for a GP Bikes mod....  ;)

I'll look into that

Well in theory, 2-strokes should be a lot cheaper to produce than 4-strokes(a lot less parts to design and build). ;)

Besides, at the time(you probably won't remember this cause your too young), the public roads were full of 2-stroke bikes being ridden for everyday use by people..... Right from 50cc for the school leavers, right up to 750cc bikes.
It was the 4-strokes that were few and far between; they were considered just a touring bike ridden by the old generations who only brought them out on hot sunny days for road trips. And the funny thing is it's still the same today except all the 2-strokes have disappeared, we hardly see any bikers on the roads these days except for race days and the odd person on a sunny day posing around...... Virtually banning 2-strokes from the bike market killed the bike market in the UK.... People started to by-pass getting a bike and went to getting cars instead. The only bikers left(if you can really call them bikers anymore? More like Sunday riders out on sunny days. Lol!),they only buy bikes as a type of extra mode of transport that they only use in summer and nice days out for posing and road trips..... It's all changed for the worse.... Just a totally different attitude and era, I'm afraid..... Very sad state of affairs for the bike market. :(  :(

As for the MOD idea: That would be great mate..... Love to see it.... Get on it mate, make it a beast!! ;D  ;D  8)
