Hi Peter.

Here is the download link for the skin I will be using: https://mega.co.nz/#!PQsQ0JLJ!KABogWAjwaeZ0Tyzvw9hhmuIActExBpvzY717aNV33I

Thanks Peter! ;D

Assuming a software is properly written I think it doesn't make a difference where you put it. In any case I don't think gpb has 64bit specific code.

MaX.

It's just that I remember seeing a post by Piboso stating that you can install for either 32bit or 64bit, and I noticed that some guys were installing in the 32bit program files folder even though they use 64bit OS, so just wondered if gpbikes had any advantage if installed in 64bit folder or not. :)

Physics / Re: Physics modding questions
December 27, 2013, 08:32:29 PM
Good thinking, Max! ;D

I agree. Documentation is desperately needed to answer physics and bike mod questions in general.

It will save important and useful answers to questions being scattered here and everywhere making things hard to find.

Paints / Re: Paint Organisation?
December 27, 2013, 08:26:21 PM
I agree with what everyone here is saying, I'm quite happy to continue working with dibu to keep the online server track downloads database organized, but, yes, I could do with someone else taking over organizing the paints files(MOD Bike and default Bike paints) and Mod bike databases, as it's too much for one person. I started it because it needed doing and know one else seemed interested at the time.

How long will it be till you guys create this new database?

Anyway. I'll keep the current skins/mods database download thread up till you guys have got yourselves organized, but I won't be continuing to update it.

As soon as you publish your new skins/mods database I will delete my forum thread ;)

This new database your talking about organizing should be great! Good Luck Guys! ;D 8)

Don't any of you guys run 64bit OS? I installed GP Bikes into my 64bit "Program Files" folder not the 32bit "Program Files(x86)".

Are there any benefits installing in the 64bit "Program Files" folder; I mean does it have any speed advantages or not(I would presume so)?

I´ll upload the visor, the PSD for the helmet is actually in the .zip file
Glad you like it  :D

Thanks Alone, that would be great ;D

In the ZIP file there is a Targa file for the helmet texture, which is usually created from a Photoshop ".PSD" working source file, but no Photoshop ".PSD" file, often called a "Paint Kit"(which would usually contain the base working element layers created for texturing and any alpha and specular maps used); this makes it easier for someone else to texture those base element layers and add too them with other layers for the design they want to create for the helmet.

No real problem 8)... I was just hoping you had access to that "Paint Kit" file so it would make it easier for people to begin the helmet texture process.  :)

Thanks for this Alone.  ;D

Any chance you have you access to a PSD file with all the elements of the helmet in separate layers? Just makes life so much easier for texture work. ;)

Bug Reports / Re: Live replay often out of sync
December 23, 2013, 08:57:24 AM
They only event I've experienced during replay is, the whole replay sometimes freezes with a noise that sounds a bit like a buzz saw, and then it will usually start again, but when it starts again the bike is further along the track.
Maybe this happens during my replay when people are connecting to the server?

There is the ghosting effect from players that have a high ping rate were you get the odd riders bike jumping around along track, and I think this translates into the replay? But that problem is greatly reduced in Beta4b; whether Piboso has worked on that or it's just a case of fewer players connecting from a distance or via wireless connections, I don't know?

Bug Reports / Re: Core-exe when touching rear brake!
December 23, 2013, 08:44:00 AM
I luckily don't get that many core.exe's, but I have noticed that most of my core.exe's come when other riders connect or disconnect, or when I try to go into replay very quickly after returning to pits; during these events, everything just seems to lockup and then it will either find it's feet and continue, or have a core.exe crash.

Still have to read the first link, but the second one (feet first) is garbage: it contains some big errors (as pointed out by a comment at the bottom of the page). Avoid.

If somebody is into some detailed explanation of motorcycle physics, probably the biggest reference around is this book : http://www.amazon.co.uk/Motorcycle-Dynamics-Vittore-Cossalter/dp/1430308613

I have it and I've read it at least 3 times. Author is an italian university professor (Padova) specialized on motorbikes, he's worldwide known.

Caution though, it's a bit technical: you'll need some decent physics/mechanics knowledge to understand everything (but you can still grasp a lot of stuff even without).

MaX.

Thanks for that, Max.... I'll delete that crap link so know one gets wrong information. ;)

Anywhere on the net were that book "Motorcycle Dynamics" can be downloaded in PDF?
