Hmm, since the forum was offline yesterday, the email notifications don't work again. :(

GP Bikes beta12 released. - 2017/8/24
Changelog:
fix: memory optimizations
...

@PiBoSo could you please explain more about the memory optimizations?

When I look at the memory usage of beta12 dedicated servers there are big differences to the old ones.
- If one or more  players connect, there is no significant increase of memory usage
- the memory usage stays quite low -  15-35MB

Are these settings in gpbikes.ini still valid?

Under [core] section ( must be created ):
...

replay  = 10

to set the size, in megabytes, of the replay buffer. 10MB is the default value.
Warning: the bigger the buffer, the more RAM will be used.

First of all thank you :), when I look at gpbikes.ini I've a question.

Is the master server for beta12 really using port 54300 instead of 10500 ?

Yes, forum emails work again for me too.

Thank you very much PiBoSo. :)

The web host allegedly restored the possibility to use the external SMTP server.
Can someone confirm?

Still no emails for me.

Seems you are right, still no emails.

But web05.i3d.net also seems to be no option, it's blacklisted at too many servers:

The forum became unreachable 10 days ago.
After re-uploading all the forum software, it restarted working, but the emails weren't working anymore.
Then tried to switch to web05.i3d.net, and tried to make it work.

One last try that can be done is indeed to go back to the servage SMTP server.
Please report if it works now.

Hmm, sorry still doesn't work.

Still no notifications, tested again with a freemail account (web.de) and my own business domain.

Notifications from KRP forum still work without problems and it uses the same forum software.
The sending mailserver was  smtp1.servage.net

Didn't you use this mailserver also for PiBoSo forum when it still worked? Did you change the SMTP server back to web05.i3d.net which caused problems in the past?

The web hosting support says that the email issue has been solved.
Can anyone confirm?  :-\

Still no email notifications for me. Same test as some days ago.
25
Timeout is gone but I still don't get email notifications - I just tested with my private and my business email account.
26
Thanks for looking at the problem despite your lack ot time. :)

If I try to send a test PM to myself, it takes about 30 seconds after sending then I get this message:

504 Gateway Time-out
nginx

This was the URL of the error page: http://forum.piboso.com/index.php?action=pm;sa=send2

The test PM shows up in forum but no external email was sent.
When I reported the problem first, it was the same behaviour but no "Gateway Time-out" showed up.

Are the forum email notifcations off again? Despite new forum PMs, the last email notification I got was last Friday.
Notifications from KRP forum still work.

Tracks / Re: Nurburgring GP v1.1_NDS
April 17, 2017, 07:47:48 AM
First of all, thank you very much for Nurburgring GP v1.1_NDS and Nord_NDS. :)

Today I drove some laps in WRS with the Formula cars and hit invisible objects at minimum three places.
Two after Mercedes Arena at the right side before the bridge where GPBIKES is written and one at the left side before the Ravenol-Kurve after the second GPBIKES Bridge (see attached image).
It's easy to reproduce if you use a F2000 or F3000 car.

Can you please have a look at these areas when you release your next version? Would be cool to have the track in WRS too, thanks.

First off, the time to join the server was like, foreva, well up to 2 mins!!! As I was joining I noticed my network went loopy and went from 900kbs to 4+Mbs on the upload !!!

At times I saw over 20Mbs being used!!!
...

I can confirm what DD and Hawk observed. While testing WRS netcode on Saturday with only 3(+2) players, I also observerd 4Gb/s+ spikes (about 30 seconds) at the router.

Now I just reviewed the video of the server and the router which I made while we were testing. From what I saw, it happens if a player gets a core.exe and tries to reconnect. A normal disconnect and reconnect works without very high upload bandwidth. Also a normal first connect.

Btw I saw the spikes also in beta11, so not new to beta11b.

I noticed in chat that as someone joined the server their ping would hit over 5000 and then take time to back down to 30 to 60 depending where they were and internet connection they had.

I second that DD. In fact when connecting to the CAWS server for our test event last night my initial ping on connecting was 33000 + before it settled down to 45 ping when actually connected to the track itself.  :o
...

I also saw in the chat window that it takes very long until the high ping times reach their normal values.

WRS beta11b netcode is very stable compared to beta11, thank you PiBoSo. :)

We played more than two hours this afternoon. Don King, PeterV and myself. Together with my 2 dummy logins we were 5.

Everyone turned more than 150 laps. None of my PCs showed a single core.exe, Peter and Don King had one core.exe each. Disconnect/reconnect also worked.
Watching replays was fluid. Ping in chat window: Peter and I - 30-40ms, Don King - ~150ms

Thanks to Don King and PeterV for testing, it was real fun. :)
Peter, for a biker your laptimes were quite spectacular.  ;D
