Message to Bike Modders
« on: September 05, 2015, 10:53:56 AM »
Hello all,

With the release of beta 7, I would like to take the chance to ask for something from the bike modders.

Please could you start using a uniform way of naming the bikes in the file browser.

We now have a Standard

Catagory_year_manufacter_model_version

E.G. GP1000_2014_Yamaha_YZR-M1_v1

If your bikes don't follow this system, they will not be included in the MOD.

Thanks
Matty :)

I'm not sure how easy this would be to implement
It's plain trivial.

For the M1 update I used this format :

Category_Brand_Model_CompatibleBeta_VersionNumber

I hope it's ok, but I can change if needed and easier for you  :)

Sure! The more bikes the better. So long as they follow the naming.

If you are struggeling give me a shot :)

Well, the problem would more likely be my non-ability to model, even after several attempts. The naming is just about few references to change.

And by the way! Can't old mods be kept in a certain folder of the database ? So people will be able to update them to the latest version (thinking about the wss, wsbk and all these mods that were available before).

As they are other peoples mods I cannot give permission for them to be used, you (or someone who wants to convert them) would need to speak to the original modder.

Please be assured more bikes are coming soon.
