I think all bikes should be in the "BIKES" subforum, just like all the circuits, etc etc, for that they were created.

That :)

And all the while peterV quietly posts all we need to know about how to join his servers..  ;)

Might also be a good idea to have in-game links to all the content you need to be able to join a particular server.. maybe PiBoSo can help us out with that..

my opinion:
we have a good database where alle modded bikes of the actual beta of gp bikes are collected. very comfortable for everyone and it worked for years perfectly.
now we have some people who want to make their own database. ok for me but i dont give a sh*t about other databases than the old and well known "BIKE MOD".

why dont you create a new database for every class of bikes?!
its just stupid to split it into countless downloadsources.

do what you want but the result is, that i will not ride any bike of another database .
thank you for the work you have put into your bikes, but i will never know how they ride, because of you ego- and database problems...

its for me a point of principle:
do not feed stupid.

so, who has won what on this?

Guys have released mods on other sites like Juju, Noss69, Jc21 over at Motonline, my boys Odi. Alle and Skerp did their thing over at the Italian forum. I never once heard a complaint about getting that content, so why is this a big deal. Yohji also releases his stuff on a different
forum. If you want something bad enough you'll find a way to get it. Modders are always dropping links to their content.
I really see no harm done here.

Ciao a tutti!

Only difference: other modders didn't ask for their mods to be removed from the BikeMod.
But yeah, whatever ...

But why is that such a big problem, perhaps they don't want the mods scattered all over and feel it best if
all their mods were in one place as better to control it as far as updates and so on.

Again I see nothing wrong with wanting full control over what release.
Example: If I release a plug-in would you be okay with me putting it
in the same thread as Max-Hud?  (BTW I love the new Max-Hud TY)
Dude I hope you get my point.

I publish the MaxHUD in my thread and that is the "official" place where to get it (just like the IMT thread is the "official" place where to get IMT mods).

But if Matty wants to add it to "his" database because it's better for the community then he doesn't even have to ask me: my stuff is published, anybody can link/republish.

If he asks me to publish only via his database I may say no (meaning I will keep posting my updates in my thread), but I honestly feel that I have no mean to "oblige" him to not put my stuff on his db (unless of course he says its his stuff, which is not the case).

You've got it Max.  ;)

Shame others refuse see the point. ;)

It seems "disorganisation" and "let's all do our own thing" without thought for the community as a whole is the "flavour of the day" right now Max. If that's what they want then so be it. I'm just glad I got out the loop at the right time it seems..... Saw this all coming to be honest.... "One bad apple" and all that, you know?  ::)

And we all know how this could end. I mean, look at the MX Bikes forum 6 months ago... Just a bloody mess.

loinen

everything should be in a single common database. mod teams should inform database admin about their updates. the other good way is in-game autodownload from server. the rest (like releasing on some other sites or databases or whatever) is stupid as hell and killing online. there is nothing else to discuss.
