Hi guys,
I made some mods for KRP and now trying to find a solution to improve my tyres mod there.
A friend told me that here in this forum you already found some solutions, and suggested me to try to ask you, since your sim has the same structure of KRP.

In 2015 I've made a full Mojo tyre set, including the W2 (wet):
as you know the structure of sim is built to change only physics information from soft, medium, hard and wet, but it doesn't chance the tyre model.
I'm trying to find a way to "change the tyres from dry to wet ingame", and that means to create some "intermediate bridge" to say "when you call the wet use that .hrc" (change the yre model).

Until now zero, dozens of game crashes only, and this I guess mainly because the tyres have no .ini file where to change some rules.
I also tried from "karts", where the tyres are assembled, f.e. saying "when you call tyresettype wet use another model", but no results.

Did someone try to find a way for such issue?
Any comment, idea or way to follow should be useful for me.

Thanks a lot in advance.
Mauro

On the CBR cup mod, there is no dry / wet tyres but a race one (slick) and the pirelli diablo corsa (road one).
I think that the pirelli works as the wet one, and for sure, it has an other model, or at least, an other texture that makes him look like an other tyre

... its the same model just different textures as... in any gpb mods lol

Ops, i see now that the post is in the IMT section  :P

Im the 3d/2d modder of the team, all bikes use the same tire model, (SC0, SC1, SC2 and Rain) I use different textures (with layers for wear, dirt, blur)

So check if for u its enough change just the texture, this link for understand better: http://docs.piboso.com/wiki/index.php/Tyres

I think that MX bikes can use more tires model, not GP Bikes.

Thanks a lot,
yes I had that link, PiBoSo gave me in 2015 when I made the tyres, and I used it to make the tex.
Unluckily the change must not be only of textures, because the wet tyre s totally different 3d too.
I guessed it's not possible: or "very hard".
In my opinion the way should be to change the gfx.cfg inside the tyre folder: it calls the .hrc file, linked to the .edf model:
since in KRP many areas are based on .txt files it seems possible to say "when the wet is called use another model", but how...

Practically there is a "tyrename".cfg: the kart is linked to it and a gfx.cfg.
The gfx selects the model, related to the .hrc (then the .hrc defines the model), but only one model.
the "tyrename" sets all variables of physics (soft, hard, et..).
My problem is "only" how to say in the gfx: "use two models instead of only one, case by case".

Only worry is that there is some code inside the .exe which for sure cannot be changed.

If you need some file samples I can post.
Thank you

per me deve mettere mano all'eseguibile: gliel'ho già chiesto.

potresti dirmi come?

Quotetyre_texture = tyre
   tyre_frame
   {
      compound0 = 1
      compound1 = 0
      compound2 = 2
           compound3 = 3
                compound4 = 4
   }

Quindi nel cfg delle gomme:

Quotewheel1
{
   {
      id = SBK Rear Extra Soft
      params = Pirelli_rear_SUPERPOLE.tyre
   }
   tyre1
   {
      id = SBK Rear Soft
      params = Pirelli_rear_SC0.tyre
   }
   tyre2
   {
      id = SBK Rear Medium
      params = Pirelli_rear_SC1.tyre
   }
   tyre3
   {
      id = SBK Rear Hard
      params = Pirelli_rear_SC2.tyre
   }
   tyre4
   {
      id = SBK Rear Rain
      params = Pirelli_rear_RAIN.tyre
   }
