21:10CET Qualifying starts - minimum chat rule (20 MINUTES)

I have left and right look set on an analogue axis. Really nice for looking into and around the corner - like 'corner anticipation' setting but better. As with all things unfortunately it need brain/thumb co-ordination training. ::)

No, although gear changes are smoother with it (very good for the 500s) its too goddamn slow for me.

Helmet cam? Wassat then? One of the replay views? Server only has settings for cockpit or anything.

No restrictions on bikes as far as I know.

Cockpit cam is the wrong term. Should be 1st person. The two views from the rider, tank and helmet cams :D

Any chance of making this NDS (?) it is such an awesome track and riding 1st P brings much excitement, but 4 cores now in 40 minutes pffff not very good and bodes badly for the race  :(  :'(

Strangely I just spent another hour there with 3 of us and not one core.  ::)  But I also got three in offline mode lol!

Thanks Hawky. Oh man I want Dynamic to work so badly so we can use its charms but NDS will do if it gives us a race.  :'(

I must give a shout out to @PiBoSo here:

When I am riding Hockenheim '79 on a Superbike using 1st person view and have other riders around me, it gives me a great sense of excitement, and reminds me how good the game is and why I got into it in the first place. Man its good. Lets please make it even better  :)

Guys, please, any tips about suspension. I really cant ride it, when it wobble like that even in low angle. I make bigger fork angle, longer swingarm, less rebount in rear shok - didnt work. If you can, please, send me set for cbr1000rr sbk

Lower the back helps, but still have those problem.

Here's mine Demi, but it doesn't cure all the wobbles. You must be extra smooth putting the power on, when braking and when leaning. Forget going fast, just go for your lines and apexes. Speed will come naturally.

My best tip is to let the bike move, don't fight it, go with it  ;)

A long wheel base and a high, even max rebound, suspension setting would often cure the wobbles to a great extent when I last rode the SBK bikes, but I don't know if the handling has been updated since then in which case it may no longer work?

First person has more pitch and roll than being on a ship in a storm.

But if you play while sitting on a jelly you will find that the oscillations through your arse are gradually dampened and eventually countered by the jellies natural lagging frequency. I recommend Raspberry.

Too many errors, cant do even a 5-6 laps

Don't worry this takes a long time to master. Intense enjoyment is the reward when you start to put laps together. 3rd person is also fun but not so exhilarating. Sounds stupid but go slower! Build it up. Imagine Shaky Byrne has lent you his super bike to have a go on. You wouldn't peg it round like a maniac I'm sure  ;) stick at it mate.
SBK category is a cruel choice for first timers. Try a 600 first maybe.
BTW I am no expert but I can get some fair times and a lot of enjoyment.

Yes its strange. Sometimes I am there for hours without  an error, other times lots of errors (cores).  Its a known problem with Dynamic tracks unfortunately. However I also see a lot of cores offline with this track too so I fear there is something wrong with it even more than that.
Hopefully a NDS version is on its way and we can find out.  :)

Are you talking about the skinpack or the event?

Its a skins pack just for this event, so people can download it without the need to download all the skins, or faf about downloading each individual update.

Count me in.... I may not get out of 1st gear lol, but I'll have a laugh. Hehe  ;D

So annoying... Same problem for last 2 races. f. engine stops working. It's not that funny without pushing hard. And when I push a little bit, boom. Anyway cockpit view was so funny. It feels like you're riding so aggresive and fast and dangerous :D Hope to see another races soon with that option. BUT NOT ENGINE PROBLEMS ! lol

Congrats to Kerazo for the win... Well done mate!:D

Considering I had no practice at all, I think I did pretty well and I'm happy about that.  :)

However, I still do feel that GPB isn't developed far enough yet to take-up 1st person view seriously. The sound still needs sorting out for cues and being able to gauge exactly how far a bike is from you, that is all sound cues which GPB is still missing. Other than that, my thoughts on awaiting to see what Beta 7 brings before I do 1st person view again still remains and has been consolidated by my participation in tonights event. In my opinion GPB isn't truly ready to use 1st person view as yet.  :)

Yeh I gambled with Medium front and hard rear. Had terrible start (cant hear engine at all) those Ducatis are booooming!  Then had re-spawn death and then the bike just felt completely un-recognise-able, it kept letting go at the front then the rear then it was lifting rear under braking, running wide everywhere and took a long time to re-learn this new beast.

Eventually caught up a few riders and had a nice bit of racing with Demi for a while (he fell and had runaway bike for 50 seconds!), then poor Matty broke his bike and A few more gifts saw me back in 3rd.

Conclusion - Love racing in 1st person, the noise, the wobbles, the exhilaration. Hate falling and remounting a bike I don't recognise. For the love of God, PiBoSo please fix the re-spawns, Tyre issues after a fall, runaway bike, other bike sounds etc and the other critical stuff.  ;)

I cant figure why some have the engine break so much - do you redline it a lot?

Well done Teeds for an excellent Qually time, and Kerazo for the win.

I really think we should do this again.  :)

i hope to see more of those. riding in first person is just so much more challenging and fun if you get it right

Until we have details of the next event I am going to put up GPBOC 1 server on the same track but the SSP600 class with Onboard view only. Nice to do a comparison there. Let us know how the bike compares for stability/ease of riding/fun etc. I will even get the sun to come out to lift SuperTarantas weather induced spirits  ;)
