if anyone is willing to share a good setup with me, i would be very grateful.  ;)
as much as i can see that this bike should love this track, i have an ideal time of 1m46s, but in practice i am struggling to crack 2'00min, too much crash boom bang.... ::)

edit - got one, and testing it now, cheers to vin!  8)

that crash was so obviously going to happen in the first lap at that hairpin

you just brake extra extra early on the first lap to not put the guys in front out of the race (also keeping in mind that you have probably a lot more fuel than usual).

but anyway, im not blaming anyone, hopefully the next races will be better.

just move a little bit back in your box before the start and you wont jumpstart.

nah, got better stuff to do.
kind of lost hope after that second corner....
plus restarts are always unfair for the leader(s).

One of the restarts was due to me, caught by the pause after the reds are all lit up.
Sorry about that, I will know better next time.

Well done Fin, Matty and Teeds!  Awesome results!

I enjoyed very, pity that having the wrong setup, I had too much engine braking (I had to get used to me, lap after lap), and I am made fooled by Patrick and Nick the position  ;D

If you want to do a mini video of the race (I need the full replay)  ;D

Exactly, that's why you take it slow in the beginning.

I hate this track anyway, so it's ok.

Maybe put me as a wildcard, though. This is not really what I expected/hoped it to be.

Exactly, that's why you take it slow in the beginning.

I am the first to go very quietly trying to avoid accidents at the beginning, Patrick (I think I still have to relate to the replay) made me fall immediately but not the race is damaged, these things happen when you are in many  ;D

@Nick i know I never use it, so I did not know that was key  ;D

Since it's been a long time that I've been in a race, I had the delusional imagination that proper ('realistic') races are possible now (after all the different championships).

Maybe if you actually would be out of the race after one crash, it would change things...

I appreciate and thank you for your work but I'm afraid there is nothing you can do.

...I'm probably just frustrated that races are basically still as chaotic as they've always been.

(http://i58.tinypic.com/10x6d5s.png) Set this up on your controller (I use d-pad) then you can change Modes and change mode levels - EB Engine Brake/ TC - Traction control etc etc..  Only on bikes fitted with it of course

Hahaha yes mate still the same   :P - there are many original members like yourself who I see have their spirits broken. Hopefully they can be revived! Maybe with B7 - don't expect too much then you wont get disappointed but you might get happily surprised!

My rule is to take the tools we have (bikes/tracks/racing etc) and just try to make the best of them for fun. Adapt and Overcome is the old Recon platoon saying. Besides I aint got time to bleed  ;)

Looking at the replay, it was not counted the lap number 13 (no time scored) why I lost a position without being surpassed by no one ... this is a bug?  :o

EDIT: In lap later, they are added together (I think) ... wtf?

Yeah. Something was wrong with the counting. I was in fourth or fifth at the finish line, but did not overtake no one instead of blackie, but was in 8th position for most of the race.
@blackheart, sorry for the crash in first corner, but you did dive in it with a very strange line and cut me while I was already turned in, so there was not much to do for me. Thought for a moment I could get through, but hit then the last inch of your back wheel anyway...
For me all those restarts are very stressful, after third, did a lot of mistakes for 2 or 3 laps, lost confidence and, btw, should have practiced with full gas.  ::)

Anyway, was fun!

;D No problem Patrick, I made it so the first corner to leave space in the corner, but unfortunately you have tried to pass me on the other side  ;D

@Nick I edited the race ... and Nick OMG!!! I had no idea what had happened, The bike that was going to be alone for a very long time  >:(

I am almost glad to be crashed in last corner of the last lap, giving the position  ;D

When ready the video I put it here, I think earlier in the evening  ::)

EDIT: I explained myself badly, my position is right on arrival, but the replay will not understand anything  :o

Post by: Napalm Nick on July 20, 2015, 08:12:16 AM
Yeh ruined my race, particularly as I had practiced a lot and was quite strong (for me) there.  But then again serves me right for falling.

And yes Patrick I agree - having to restart upsets concentration a lot which is why I don't like to do it. But for me it is just too unfair for people to have done a lot of practice, come to the event and then not get a race because of what is essentially a bug. For now we must make as much fun as the 'tools' allow.  ;) I expect at least one restart per race so I am rarely disappointed and sometimes pleasantly surprised.

as a matter of interest, and still a while before i can watch the replay, what is a good lap time for this circuit?
while still struggling to tame the insane power of the Duke to get a good time in, i've so far managed a 1m48 with the RSA250, not a perfect lap, but i could keep that up for a race distance... i think  ;D
Title: Re: GPBikes Owners Club | GP800 NDS CHAMPIONSHIP | Race 1
Post by: Napalm Nick on July 20, 2015, 08:36:02 AM
@Blackheart - there is a discrepancy with the positions mainly 2nd and 3rd. Maybe with some others too. I need to watch the replay today

@Capeofgoodhope - no idea for the 250 but if you use that motonline link I sent you you can look at average laptimes.

Observation of interest: All the Pre-event Practice was done at an Air temp of 24oC, with track temperatures fluctuating 26-28oC in Cloudy conditions.

For the race the clouds dispersed and a lot of sun was there, Air temperature remained at 24oC whilst the black track tarmac rose to 37oC. All stuff to check on race day in the Event Details panel and on screen. Big impact on tyre temperatures, pressures, and the 'feel' on track.

It's these little attention to detail in the game design that makes this a truly superb sim. We have a lot to be grateful for I think  8)

I am unable to select some riders in the replay - although I can see them the cameras wont lock them. It is oddness all around.
I just watched the whole race from teeds perspective on FREE and the following occurred:

T+10s - Matty leading from start Teeds 7th
T+4m30s - Teeds passes Matty 6th
T+6m25s - Matty passes Teeds 7th
T+9m58s - Teeds passes Matty 6th
T+10m 01s - Matty passes Teeds 7th
T+10.58 - Teeds passes Matty 6th
Teeds passes 2 fallers
T+18m 11s - Teeds passes me (remounting runaway bike fro 2nd grrr)4th
T+ 20m 20s - Teeds passes a faller
Yan drops out 2nd
T+25m - Teeds laps a Patrick

Difficult to ascertain those positions but the facts say Teeds 2nd, Matty 3rd as I see it.
As usual 24 hours from yesterdays Race start to contend it  ;D

Great results either way.

Yeh don't worry Blackie most of us had a lap time like that the important thing is the lap was counted as a lap.  Probably this track needs looking at again for sector positions etc. The NC version (Dynamic) is probably more used and tested but we don't want any of that Dynamic-ness here do we (Meyer!) hehe

Sweet my favourite part 1.30-1.45 - fifteen seconds of 1st place glory. After that rear end slide I increased my TC from 2 to 3. Love how you can do that.

Also you see some of the Teeds/Matty battle.

But I must make a video with my runaway bike in to ease my broken heart hehe.

Thanks Blackheart  ;)

Scroll down in the rider selector. Most riders are listed multiple times and only one works.

I wish replays would not be laggy so that we could actually have some proper onboard footage (from other riders).

And, yeah, the bike riding itself bug really needs to be fixed.

Scroll down in the rider selector. Most riders are listed multiple times and only one works.

OMG yes! You are right I have never seen that before! Super Tip Vin thank you. ;)

Here are the highlights of the first race of the season, have fun!  :P

It is advisable to watch it in 720p 60fps

Hooray! Cause of the soundtrack and the German mafia called "GEMA" I can't watch it... >:(

So, here's the download of my video for German users, the quality is slightly lower, I apologize, for the next races I will be more careful with soundtracks  :-[

hi guys
guess i'm still finding out more about the do's and dont's of this sim. after downloading the race replay yesterday, my game was crashing every time i tried to watch it. then i found that i now keep getting a data mismatch when trying to have any practice session with this profile.
changing to another profile sorted it, but does anyone know what the cause might be?
i have the latest club skin pack installed, so don't know what it could be....
sorry this isn't the ideal place to ask such stuff, but i thought seeing as it started with the race replay, lol.....  :P

That's odd CapeofDoom,
If it all works fine with a different profile (including the replay??) then nothing is wrong except the Profile in C/Documents/Piboso/Profiles.

If the problem started with the replay file where did you unpack and put it?

i unpacked it straight from my download folder into the game replays folder (in my case, inside the game folder)
now the funny thing is my next profile is doing the same thing, after changing the bike and skin, nothing to do with the replay this time. first sign is a huge fps drop while in the menu screen, i'm talking average 5 fps - and when i restart the game, and try to start a race, on the screen where it says 'connecting' it suddenly gives a data mismatch error.
i thought this was only an online error?
still trying things out, to see if i can see what's what...
meanwhile, back at the A1 Ring, i parked the 250 Aprilia in the back of the garage, and ventured out with the Ducati again, and my times are steadily improving, at last - man, the concentration levels required are insane, lol  ;D

Yes which is why my consistency is poor I have to build up concentration levels.  ::)

You could try rename Bike/Tracks/Rider folder then create new ones. Move stuff into them a bit at a time - I suggest leaving the paints until you have it working with all bikes and tracks then add in the bike/rider paints until you find error.

Just a quick suggestion.
