The RSA 250 is literally RSA 125 times 2. Port maps, cylinder heads, pipes, cylinders, everything is exactly the same.
In fact the RSA cylinders were originally developed for the 250 and then later copied for the 125.
What about crankshaft inertia ? Breaking torque ? Engine weight ?

Not everything scale linearly, would be too easy.

I was talking about the dyno chart/power curve. Nothing else.

This is a little late but here are the dyno charts of the RSA, RSW and the reed valve Derbi 125 of Lorenzo (at least the important part :D).
Since the RSA/RSW 250 used the same cylinders and pipes as the 125, their power curve would be the same multiplied by 2.

Yeah but the dyno chart power curve depends on some of the stuff I mentioned.

But don't worry, oDi knows what he's doing about this stuff.

well said Max... also having the same parts (and anyway, has happened only in some cases), it does not mean much ... because the architecture of the engine is different

Vini

I give up on you, these information come directly from Jan Thiel and Frits Overmars.
Anyway, Max, what you mentioned does not change the power curve, only how fast the engine revs.

i Know Jan Thiel on FB... and trust me, he does not draw a torque curve of 250, doubling that of the 125  ;) is not so simple

Are you sure ? You think the internal friction is the same between the two engines (1 cyl and 2x1 cyl) ?

Vini

I feel like this is going in the wrong direction. I don't want to fight with you.
It's an approximation, yes, but in my opinion it's good enough for our purposes.

Something different: Have you thought about making the RSW 500 or NSR500V? It would be quite interesting racing the other 500s with these bikes because of the differences in power and weight (and tyres).

Not too fast?

filipw2: it depends what compound you use
Still riding a 50cc, but enjoying it :)

it makes no sense compare with the real actual times, also the Murasama (a Motogp from 2003)  runs  in 1.25 to phillip island.... and the real record is 1.28.108 (and with a 2013 bike...)
however, in 2008 the 250 runs in 1:43 in Jerez  ;)

Close enough id say..

Besides a few years back now the 250's were only a couple of seconds slower than the full gp bikes..

As iv already said my mate beat a full grid of 600's on his 250! Capable little bikes!
