Plugins / Re: Rumble in MaxHUD - discussion

The rumble feels good and is "real", not artifical. Good work so far!

I bought it, too after reading this thread. Best game pad I used so far! Thanks for the advice!

Great news, that you released the rumble feature! Can't wait to get home from work today and give it a try! ;)

Ok, I'm no developer and  don't know which data the game gives you and how to interpret it. Still I think it's worth a try. Yes It might be that it's a useless feature, but I think the rumble when shifting or maybe when going over curbs or bumps could still be a fun feature.

Happy to here you're working on this. I think the main problem with bike sims at the moment is that no matter how realistic it is, it still doesn't feel that way because you only have visual feedback. Feeling when you're near the limit could be a useful and fun feature.
Does Force Feedback with gamepads only feature vibration? Or also forces against the controll sticks? Just recently bought a force feedback gamepad but only played gp bikes so far, so I don't know. The force feedback for driving wheels is a very cool and useful feature!

Another tip:
If you don't have the full brake power on your gamepad you can brake more precisely especially into the corners. In earlier versions I played you could set a brake power between 1 and 10. I allways used 3 and it made me a lot quicker because I could very smoothly break into the corner. The recent version of gp bikes doesn't have this option. But in the gamepad setup you can lower the gain of the brake axis. I just started playing again but I think at the moment I'm using a value of about 85%.

Just startet playing gp bikes again after about 2 years. I'm still learning the usual way again but I'm very interested about your riding style, klax.
Are you only riding for yourself or do you compete in online races?
If you do so, do you change the steering for this to normal or do you keep DST?

General Discussion / Re: Ride vs GP Bikes

Yes, Milestone is just a pain in the ass. It's the same everytime: they release new games each years, sometimes there one patch and that's it. No support no community, nothing. Doesn't mather wether it's sbk, motogp, ride, wrc... it's all the same shit.

Wow, just saw that it's on steam as day-deal for 20€. From what I've read on the forums it's still too much ;)

So is there any online racing / community with RIDE or is the game as dead as it seems?

I would really like to give RIDE a try. One thing that really pissed me of with Milestone games (also with wrc3) is the fact that there seems to be no community at all. You don't find a single fansite, no leages, nothing. with ride it seems the same. When googling it I only found the official site and a few reviews. In the past games like these allways seemed to be dead just after the release.
So whats your experience with RIDE? Do you have any links for me?

You might be right that RIDE isn't a real simulation, but sometimes I like games that are betweem a real sim and just a game. You can have fun with these without training. One of the first race games I really had fun with for example was DTM Race Driver (in the UK: TOCA Race Driver).

Also: "Easier games" like RIDE or the race driver series I mentioned before bring people to real sims. Sims like GP Bikes can be very frustrating for a new user especially when not having any experience with race games at all. So I think it's good for GP Bikes as well that games like RIDE exist.
