Title: [GPBikes][tracks] Laguna Seca
Post by: janaucarre on July 20, 2014, 01:14:51 AM
July the 29th
Hello,
This is the final version of Laguna Seca.

- New ambiant color
- kerbs longer than before
- new starting grid
- starting lights and pit lights work fine
- The track has been rescale(only 0.15% bigger) to be more as the length in reality
- cameras ok
- marshals ok
- new tyres walls
- all trees have been remade to be watched from any side

I propose you two version, one with the generated surface(for groove and tyre marks), and one without generated surface(peterv asked me for one fro better online racing).

generated surface:

ungenerated surface:

july, the 20th 2014

Hello,
Here is a non finished Laguna Seca, it will be finished quickly but i couldn't wait:)   :
Download/replace the existant if there is/play

Autor: Schwoni, entirely remastered by me, janaucarre.

- cameras->ok.

- marshals->ok.

- starting lights->ok, but it glitches and will be solved as soon as possible.

- renaming of all parts->ok.

- surface generate->ok. (that's for having tyres marks along the lap we do)

- track surface, kerbs, terrain along the track->ok

- asphalt texture changed

- Some holes are still visible but only in particular zone between the terrain along the asphalt and the terrain at the exterior of it, not really bad but will be changed in next version.

- many tyres are in transparency, it's my fault, because i have reduced the number of polygons all along the track and i saw too late it broke the polygons should not have to be. I wanted to hide that with a layout created with the tackedit tool, with many many tyres, 543 pieces, but it looks like there is a limit of added object:(, not sure but i think so.

- some kerbs will be extendend, because watching Laguna Seca with google map, it looks like they are longer in reality.

- some parts along the asphalt will be renammed because i use the TRKCASPH and TRKBASPH prefix and it significate that those parts are asphalt with very less grip than standard asphalt, and it must be sand.

I hope you will enjoy with it:) All reports are welcome but those up:) Thank you.
Next release very soon, and the last, i think.

Hi Janau.

Very nice work indeed mate.... Great looking track!  ;D 8)

When you say the final version will be released soon, how soon? Days? I only ask because I'd like to include this in the Track Downloads Database, but to save dibu having to update the servers twice within days if the probable final release is going to be that quick in release?
If your going to release the next(possible final release) in days, then it would be best to wait for the next release for inclusion to the database for the above stated reason.  ;)

Again... Nice work Janau! ;D

Hawk.

Alby: there is 2 links mega and mediafire. But, for what, i dońt know, the mediafire link report to an older project. Grrrrrr, everytime i post a mediafire link it's not  the good, i test it before i post definitely. That will be corrected today.

I ask cause i want to do a race on sunday.

Hi Janau.

That's good. I'll add it to the track downloads database when finished version is released then. If that's okay with you? It's not long is it, and saves server and database updates.

Thanks for letting me know mate.  ;)

I still have no idea how to deal with the corkscrew and the turn after that without crashing but the rest of the track is a great improvement.

Corkscrew has no real problem play a bit with suspension settings and different lines, and the next left corner you have to release steering, because there is a bump there that make you crash

Hi Janau.

I've packaged both track zip files plus installation instructions into one rar archive(Laguna Seca V1.0_X2.rar) and stressed for people to install both versions to avoid confusion and possible data mismatches while connecting to online servers that may or may not be hosting the same version with or without a dynamic track surface.

Track/s are now uploaded and available from the "Track Downloads" MEGA Database: https://mega.co.nz/#F!eNVSADpZ!a6u3dBMlFT8zw5x7K68eVg
(https://mega.co.nz/#F!eNVSADpZ!a6u3dBMlFT8zw5x7K68eVg)

Thank you Janau.... Great job indeed mate! Well done!  ;D 8)

A little suggestion, if I remember right. Since Laguna Seca is also home to riding and driving schools. At the Apex of each turn there is a painted red rectangle right behind the curbs.
