Just to say I'm loving 6c. I get a much better feel for the bike's handling (which is a hard thing to define), and its not quite so harsh (I can touch the kerbs when I'm doing my attempt at a Marquez impression!). At the same time, it doesn't seem like its just been made easier, it seems...more real. And that's the aim right? :)

Well that clears that up at least! :)

I've just installed beta6c and I'm looking to download the bikes again, but the only models I can see, on mega or dropbox, under "Bike MODS no paints" are the 600's. All the paints seem to be there for the other models. Am I looking in the wrong place?

General Discussion / Front End Wobble/Fold 5b
August 05, 2014, 05:21:44 PM
Hi Guys,

I've seen the fact the the front end on pretty much all the bikes has a tendency to wobble on 5b, mentioned on lots of threads. But the only solution I've seen (and it does kind of work) seems to be setting all the suspension settings to minimum.

Is there any other generally accepted solution to this? Is it a known problem being resolved by PiBoSo? Do the bike/track models need to be updated to take this into account?

The strange thing for me is when the front folds on corner exit when applying throttle. Obviously, the front of a bike folding is a real thing, but surely it should be happening when overloading the front tyre on corner entry, not on positive throttle corner exit (when the weight is shifting to the rear)? I've been trying to look for videos of the front folding in real life, and this was the best I could come up with. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N89v6Wj82lQ

The first 2 crashes are both front folds. The very first one, despite being nose-cam, illustrates it well because you can hear the rider isn't even on the throttle when it happens! If anyone can find a vid of someone losing the front on corner exit, I'd like to see it!

If I've missed a thread discussing this (and its quite possible!), just let me know and I'll take it down.

This may be my mistake. I just copied all the bikes and tracks over from my beta4 install. But I've noticed there are differences if I do a fresh download, so I'm going to try that for all of them and see how I go.

Should I be re-downloading all the tracks too?

I probably should have been clearer. I tried adding in the stand.cfg file from the download link to a couple of the bikes. It didn't seem to make any difference.

When I open stand.cfg with a text editor, all it contains is "height = 0.33". Is that all it should contain?

When Klax75 said "I looked through the folders the bikes with the problems didn't have a stand.cfg. " it seemed to be implied that some of them did contain it. Which was why I said that none of my bike folders contained it.

This will fix the bikes being half sunk in the ground.

QuoteI looked through the folders the bikes with the problems didn't have a stand.cfg.

Just download this and drop it in all the bikes that don't have it.

This didnt work for me. And none of my bike folders have a stand.cfg

I'm getting this error quite regularly, with the game freezing as the bike goes off the track.

"ODE INTERNAL ERROR 1
assertion "bNormalizationResult" failed in ../../include\ode/odemath.h.326"

Then a window showing runtime error for core.exe
