Great bike, love it - absolutely beautiful. Many thanks to all involved!

One issue: onboard view the rpm-indication doesn't work - will this be fixed?

It works but luminosity can hide LEDs. I'll try to make an update ASAP with new LED textures  :)

Great work! One thing I did notice, the RMP/Shift lights are a very faint white. I didn't even realize they were doing anything for a while. Maybe make them green/orange/red? Make them more noticable.

An update will be out tomorrow with following fixes :

- Reworked chain
- Skinnable wheels
- Cockpit LEDs redone

I can't stop using this bike! :D Thanks for the update.

I did notice something, the LED's are hitting red really fast when your not at the end of the gear. If you put MaxHUD on and have speed showing his will turn red much later. On the bike the LED's are hitting red very quickly so you shift, when you're not actually at the end of the gear yet.

@Klax and Ricco
This is because you only have 8 LED (4 green/2 orange/2 red) in the dash but the min rpm of the rpm_light is set to 6000 and the step to 1000rpm.
This results in:
1st LED: 6000
8th LED: 13000 rpm

You can either:
a) change the min rpm to 9000
1st: 9000
8th: 16000
or
b) change the step to 1500rpm and set min rpm to 6000.
1st: 6000
8th: 16500 (you will only see the 8th LED when rpm is above 16500 at downshift)
or
c) if you prefer a "full" powerband displayed in the LED´s:
change step to 2000rpm and min to 2000rpm
1st: 2000
8th: 16000

I suggest that Ricco will check which version he prefers and update the M1 file again   :)
Values can be found in gfx.cfg / rpm_lights  ;)

This bike's front end is more stable..

I know its the same physics but I tested back to back and I find that it just is more stable.. ??

dunno if its only numbers or not but oil values on front fork are the old ones (from beta 4)

Yes I've noticed this with m1 in the settings also I would agree that front end seems to be more stable on the m1.

There have been some changes in the oil stuff in beta5b so it's probably a good idea te have the very same in the YZ (assuming the modder wants the exact same physics).

If it's not in the latest BikeMOD version then it needs updating before it will work with the current version of GPB.

Check the BikeMOD version via the MEGA or Dropbox links here: http://forum.piboso.com/index.php?topic=789.0 (http://forum.piboso.com/index.php?topic=789.0)

Not ported to the last beta yet. I was planning to release a version with new physics (based mainly on Noss work with RCV) but I totally forgot it.

I think I'll make a port very soon based on the default MotoGP (Murasama) and I'll update with new physics later.

Well, it depends a lot of the bike you want to convert. For the M1 it was easy, since it's just kind of a renamed Murasama with modified 3D and sound. So just few copy/paste and some tweaks to make it fit better (I had to change stuff for hands position for example).

If your bike has it own physics, it takes more time since you'll have a lot more to modify. Basically converting a bike to a new beta is just 95% of copy/paste but the missing 5% are the hardest : don't forget anything if you don't want a core.exe and look for the missing stuff for hours  ;D

There are very few things that have changed in the physics files format so making an existing mod bike "compatible" with beta7 is a 5min job (http://forum.piboso.com/index.php?topic=2626.msg41826#msg41826 (http://forum.piboso.com/index.php?topic=2626.msg41826#msg41826)).

What may take time is to tune the physics of the bike to the new beta7 (if necessary).

On the default bikes there have been changes in: masses an CoG, masses of the tyres, some important parameter of the front tyres of the 990 ...

@MODDERS: easy way to compare default bikes between betas:

Easy peasy.

I personnally prefer to restart from a 100% original bike (usually Murasama) to make sure everything is here and clean. But yeah, we can do it like MaX said and it works pretty well.  :)

For bikes that are based on default bikes (like your M1 based in the 990) yes, probably easier to restart from scratch.
But for bikes with their own physics doing the diff is the way to go.

Ricco,

your M1 is probably my favourite bike to ride 'Onboard' as yet  :)

One thing I see which upsets me is that the Dash controls, and hence ECU mode and TC settings etc, do not work in 'Onboard View'.   :'(

From our long races before, I learnt to value the ability to change these in a race to compensate for tyre wear etc so it pains me that it cannot be done on the M1 (it works on the Mura).

Is it very difficult to get that working?? I hope not.  :)

It's quite easy to do but since Manu started a full MotoGP bikeset including a new M1, mine will probably not be updated anymore  :-X
Title: Re: [BIKE] Yamaha YZR-M1
Post by: C21 on November 23, 2015, 07:32:05 AM
Why not?
Your M1 is a 2014 bike isn´t it?
Manu is doing the 2015 version using the dash of the Murusama.
I would like to see a 2014 with full working Yamaha style dash.
Could you send me a PM how to integrate and update full working dashboards? Would be nice as i try to learn a bit more on that.

It's a 2013 model. I've no problem to update the dahsboard because it's really few minutes to do, but having different version of a bike isn't good idea in my opinion. But if people really want my bike to be updated, it will.  :)

If Manu doesn't want to make onboard view on his bikes, I'm ok to take a look for 2015 models.

Its only the bit of the dash that allows the ECU Mode changes. At the moment the dash readout has two modes - one that shows revs etc (which all works fine) and the other mode just freezes the display.
No-where on either of these two modes are the TC/EB or ECU Maps shown, so cannot be selected/changed.

All the rest work fine and graphically the onboard view is really great.

If it isn't too hard to implement it would really be awesome Ricco it seems such a shame to only be 99% perfect.  ;D

P.S.
Could you shed some lights on doing dashboards?
