Hello everyone. I purchased my gpbikes licence key yesterday afternoon and received the key via e-mail.
Whenever I try to activate my account via the link in the e-mail it is telling me I have an invalid licence key. Which is a bit frustrating as I want to go online on gpbikes with a friend this week.
I have tried it 10 times now. But I keep getting the same message. The licence key I am trying to activate is taken straight from the e-mail I received and it now allows me to play the full game in offline mode. So it's definitely a valid & correct licence key with which I am trying to activate my account. I think the activation system may be glitched?
I have sent a message to technical support but have not received a response yet. I really want to get online today if possible.
Many thanks in advance for your help.

Hi there,
normally Piboso replies as soon as possible to this kind of messages.
In the while, you should have a GP Bikes "data" folder somewhere on your PC. It's not the installation directory (e.g. "C:\Program Files (x86)\GP Bikes beta4b"), it's typically under your "Documents" folder (e.g. "C:\Users\MaX\Documents\PiBoSo\GP Bikes", it may vary depending on which Windows you have). In that directory you have a license.ini file: it's just a text file, open it with a text editor (notepad ok), you should see something like this (with different values, of course):
[license]
login=MaX!
key=ABCDE-ABCDE-ABCDE-ABCDE
Check if the key matches the key you received in your email. Eventually put it there and retry.
MaX.
Thank you for your help.
I'll try that.
It seems that maybe others are encountering some problems with licence keys showing as invalid having read through this thread. Maybe post beta4?
I'm new to all this but know computers quite well. I have raced on gp500 for a few years now. I also do a bit of modding on gp500..
All the best, Tracey :)
If it's a real problem it's something temporary: we surely had new licences post-beta4 and didn't get any echo of troubles.
MaX.

Thanks very much PiBoSo.
I'll try that. My relative who made the payment via Paypal is telling me the e-mail address is .com not .co.uk ..
But I'll give it a go now..
Tracey
Have you been registered?
Edit:
Oh Sorry, didnĀ“t update the thread...
Piboso was faster ;D
I'm in. It worked!
I am really happy with that. Thank you very much.
I look forward to falling off online now! ;)
Tracey
Welcome aboard Tracey! ;D
Hope you've got everything sorted out now?
Catch you on track. ;D 8)
Hi Hawk. Thanks for the welcome!
I have been organising & racing in motogp13 leagues for about a year but my first love is the gp500 pc game. I inherited my interest in m/c racing games from my father who used to race in real life & who loved the gp500 game with a passion..
Anyway, I'm really excited about being here. I know you guys are amazingly fast on this "game" but I intend to enjoy trying desperately to keep you in sight..some hope!
JamoZ commented to me on one of my youtube videos that I should get my behind over to gpbikes..it took a while but I'm here!
I think gpbikes is hugely promising..I really do. I think it's a fantastic achievement already. It is a breath of fresh air in so many ways..in a world of hastily developed arcade racers.
I am very happy to be here.
Tracey :)
I have nothing to do with this :P

That sounds just like something Jamoz could say indeed.

I am well known for my polite choice of words, i would never say such things :P
ROFL
I`m always nice ::)
Hellooo GRT! :)
Ps, Tracey is an expert at organising leagues and races! 8)
Actually JamoZ was very sweet. ;) He did a good recruiting job on me..
Thanks for the compliment Bob. Not sure if I deserve the accolade but I do enjoy organising leagues & races a lot. It's kind of fun organising & bossing men around.. ;D It's like practicing for later life when somehow or other you end up getting married to someone..
But no joking apart I would love to organise some leagues at some stage in the future if people are interested. I think it would be good fun.
But I don't want to intrude or step on anyone's toes. If someone is already doing this maybe I could help them?
Anyway it's good to be here finally. :)

Trust me (and the other old chaps on this forum), there's no practice for that :)

Pretty sure you will be welcome as an organizer, but i would wait to final version of the sim, when online issues will be sorted out. PeterV is already doing some races for us on weekends, to keep in shape in the meantime. But he is also having now a rest of this, untill V1.0, then we can do a proper championship and have real fun.
Thanks Warlock. That was my reading of the situation to be honest.
Just to pose you an unfair question is there any sort of approximate timeframe for this or is it a case of it being ready when it is ready?
I guess that's really a question for PiBoSo and his development team. Being new to this though I'm just curious..
The answer tends more to ... it will be ready when is ready. ;)
Hi girlracerTracey were all very patience people here Ideal bossing material ;D

I just wanted to say no offence taken guys. I'm just glad to be here. :)
Thanks for everyone's help & guidance by the way. I'm new to gpbikes & I'm on a steep learning curve. But I'm loving the "sim" nevertheless. I'm so glad I gave gpbikes a go. It's a formidable achievement by PiBoSo. We are extremely fortunate to have gpbikes I think in a world of arcade leaning racers. Without it there would be a bit of a void in m/c racing simulations. It definitely hits the spot as far as I'm concerned. I find it difficult to put it down & do other things if I am honest..including my university work. ;)

Not surprisingly as there was no offence at all. It was clearly a joke by Jamoz (and a decent one by my standards).
@Jamoz: don't let this episode turn you off from your humorist career :)
MaX.
I'll try, but it's not gonna be easy with the funpolice watching over my shoulder. But yeah, I'm used to the fact that my sense of humor usually gets me into trouble one way or another :)

Not sure there are a lot of guys on this forum that could reasonably do university work, no matter the prize :) :)

MaX.
You actually have homework in University? :o
Guess i choose the right place to study since I have random and totally rarely homework :P
It's a common mistake at university : not having "official" homework doesn't mean that you can play GPB the rest of the time at home :P
In my case, an hour of "official" homework = 3 hours on my side ::)
I get weekly and mandatory "tutorial work" which has to be handed in and is assessed and marked by my tutors. This counts towards my module score. In addition I am given "unassessed" assignments and coursework which are also marked & feedback is given..
I don't mind though because I still get enough time to indulge in my addiction for online racing. So it's not all bad..
I just wish there was an official degree subject for online gaming! ;)
is this you?

My ex-gf was gorgeous (they all were...) but ugh, just couldn't get her into racing games. She'd sort of follow F1 with me but even trying to make her a My Little Pony livery didn't work.
Lol!!! I cant even do paints.. Thats me screwed :-\
Dont worry im no cyber stalker.. Too risky! (i would end up with a virus and wouldnt be able to play gpbikes ::)) simply a profile picture..

As a young gymnast (my second favourite hobby after motorcycles) who has to train a lot I wish I had the time to eat..
My only weakness is curries if I am honest. I am going to have a curry on my wedding day, if ever I have one, as the wedding feast. Anyone who doesn't like curry will have to bring their own sandwiches or stay at home. I wonder how much it would be to hire out the curry house for the evening?????? Got to be done though..
grT :)
That would make on hell of a wedding night...

But very kind from you to think about her. Especially as she probably thinks about you in terms of "skinny <beeep>".
