Title: 2 stroke exhaust smoke
Post by: PeterV on July 24, 2014, 10:08:54 AM
Can we have in the future some kind of smoke from the 2-stroke exhaust?
Not the whole time, but say the first 1-3 laps? Maybe it can be coupled on the engine temp?

This would make it complete in my eyes.

+1 ;)

Cracking idea... This would add greatly to the immersion of the 2 stroke simulation in GPB.

+1 from me too

-it will also be good if the 2stroke bikes start to lose some power when they get overwarmed(correct me if im wrong cause i dont know about big cc supersports, the highest cc bike i ever rode was a 350 sachs and a rd350 and they both also started to lose power when it were gertting high engine temps)

They already do that, go stand still and rev youre hart out. When you after a while want to ride away you will see that it lost power.

It would be a great addition, but on a properly tuned racing 2 stroke it only smokes until the engine temp reaches about 45/50°C.

On the 1992 TZ250 for example the bike is usually at 55°C when I ride. As soon as you go above 60°C you start losing power on a 2 stroke.

ive never monitored temps in real life to have an opinion and also didnt know they added it in gpbikes :o but thats wonderful if they did i will try and give it a test sometime  :D thx

i was thinking about inserting a sort of options to carburate bikes, just like you do in krp

Theres a little video on the mxbikes forum showing some smokey exhaust action.. Looks great!

Will be a great atmosphere with a grid of 2stroke 500's  :P 8)

Great news! This will add greatly to the atmosphere, especially on the grid.  ;D ;D 8)

I can see there will be a few overheating engines on the grid pumping smoke. Lol

Thanks for the vid DD.... Looks great!  8)

Though maybe the smoke phase were it's pumping out balls of smoke(from 6 sec to 8 sec in the vid) is a little unrealistic, don't you think(smoke doesn't come out of exhausts shaped as a perfect ball)? But the rest of the smoke phase is brilliant!!  Love it!! ;D ;D 8)

Can we have a quick patch to integrate this like now please Piboso? Like in my dreams, eh. Hehe

Surely this is just a piece of code that could be implemented into GPB if GPB and MXB are the same coding???

DD says hopefully
