Title: paint tutorial?
Post by: astrohm93 on February 07, 2014, 11:24:00 PM
Hey again, I was just asking about the Nicky hayden test bike and was wanting to be able to make it myself.. I have no clue how to start though. Any tutorials that would be helpful?

Download the templates you need, you can find them on the forum ;) And use a paint program to edit the targa files. Most of the users are using photoshop but there are other (free) programs that can do the same job ;)
Just start painting the template and add decals that you can find on the internet. Use high resolution png pictures ;)

sorry its not letting me put a pic for some reason.  but what happens is the front numbers are on the tail and logos arent where they are supposed to be.  but on the template in photoshop everything is where it should be.

I just saw your post... i didnt realize the size of the template mattered... that might be the problem let me retry it!

Thanks for your help btw ;D

Hint! Download the skin with the Monster energy logos because it has all the things from the list in the folder.

livery_N.tga

What's livery_N.tga for ?

If any of you painters care about a tutorial, that would probably be excellent for all the newcomers.

What's livery_N.tga for ?
It's "normal map", for fake bump.

Oh cool, didn't know it was possible to do that. Not that I'm able to do anything worth the effort (with or without normal map) anyway :)
