Title: Pit/lc limiter sound
Post by: VSMaster on March 02, 2021, 10:34:56 PM
It would be nice to have the possibility to add sounds files that kicks in when activating pit limiter, or even for launch control. Maybe it would be possible by adding more off throttle sounds for a precise rom range but it would be weird hearing from you them while riding.

Have you tried the rev limiter sound function? It works the same as MXB function.

I'm just looking for the Lc and Pit limiter

LC/Pit limiters often (not always) work IRL often by limiting RPMs instead of speed. This is why you get the banging noise on RPM.

In GPB, it limits RPM on LC, but it's 'Smooth', it doesn't bring the 'Limiter' sound down the rev range with the actual limiter.

Pit Limiter in GPB is a speed limiter and so doesn't have this either.

Having a dedi sound would be cool too

The plan is to add support for a dedicated pit limiter sound.

However, wouldn't the launch control need multiple sounds, to cover the full range of possible settings?

That's true, but i think it's possible if you add multiple limiter sounds, in the sfx.cfg it would look like

{
Limiter0 = 6000rpm
LimiterSound = limiter0.wav

Limiter1 = 8000rpm
LimiterSound = limiter1.wav

And so on.
I don't know if it would work but it's the only way i can imagine it.
