I sometimes wish people would put the same amount of time in learning how to race, start or overtake properly instead of just hotlapping :-X

Well, if they are not interested in racing they may as well focus on hotlapping only, no crime there.
Hotlapping has one huge advantage: you can do it any time and for how long you want. Racing requires other players, to get online at the same time, to race the entire race with nobody bothering you ... it requires more commitment.
MaX.
@Max, indeed, hotlapping is fun and very addicting. :D I really don't know why PiBoSo does not want to add a ghost atm. KRP has one...

Sadly i`ve seen alot of top hotlappers fall under the pressure of being chased, or wreck other players. Most just don`t realize that racing is a whole other ballgame..

Can't disagree with that.

Is it possible to upload laptimes from testing to the online leaderboard?
I would like to get some times on the board but I can never find anybody to race/time attack online with lol.
Testing/time attacking lets you improve and learn the bikes/tracks..
Race craft.. Some people have it, some people dont lol

Why don't you play online? You don't need somebody to hotlap :P And if you join a lobby, most of the time, someone else will join too ;)
Oh so I can join a server, do a few laps and if I leave will the laptime go to the leaderboard?

Yes :D This works in all sessions, practice, qualy, race ;)
Thanks Arvoss!
Does the leaderboard only recognise the standard bikes eg. maurasama 990? Or can I use any bike for laptimes?

Instead of hotlapping offline (testing), go online or, even better, host your own online sessions: this way your times will be recorded.

I presume only the standard ones.

It depends on the physics: if it's the same physics as the murasama, then it's OK.

And now you still crash in the first corner in a race because someone stole your hotlap line ::)

I can't get below a 1.29 sadly. Though last month I said the same about below 1.30 so at least I'm slowly getting there.
