Hi Guys.
Anyone else having problems connecting to the online servers tonight?
Me and Klax are getting "Data Mismatches" all over, even using the default bikes.
Has anyone any suggestions?
We have Bike MOD 2.05 installed and latest track versions. But it's even "Data Mismatching" on Victoria which is very strange.

Woohoo beta6 ;D ;)

LOL
I'm still getting data mismatches when trying to connect to the French motoonline "Mallory Park 1978" server... Anyone else getting this?
Just wondering if they could post their list of bikes/tracks so we can co-ordinate. :)
Hawk
I'm getting problems with the following servers:Data Mismatch error on connection to:
- SFB Moto Clube(Victoria Track)
- Motonline-fr 2/MOD 2.05 (Mallory Park 1978 V1.1)
- Motonline-fr 4/MOD 2.05 (NC-Mugello)
- Motonline-fr RAIN/MOD 2.05(Suzuka)
Connection Timeout to servers:
- Pete-MOD 2.05 (Silverstone)
I have the Bike MOD 2.05 installed and the current version tracks too.
Hawk.
Strange.
You haven't problems on others motonline's servers ?
It's the same files for eatch.
For motonline-fr 2, it was the NDS track. Changed yesterday evening for Monzabike v3.

Hi Ali.
I don't have all tracks installed so only certain servers using the tracks I have installed show up in the world server list. ;)
I had both Mallory Park 1978 V1.1 DS and NDS versions installed when I tried to connect before the server changed tracks later yesterday.
I really don't think it's a track version issue, I suspect their are bikes installed that are not in the current Bike MOD 2.05?
It would be good if a screen cap of the server bikes folder could be posted so we can find were the problem lies. :)
Hope this helps, Ali. ;)
Hawk.
I don't think that it's a bikes problem at the servers. I've installed the unchanged bike MOD 2.05 and of course the original bikes.pkz - NOT unzipped.
I can connect to all servers of Ali without problems.
At SFB Moto Clube I get a Data Mismatch too.

Hi Dibu.
Does the original bikes "NOT unzipped" cause a data mismatch when the user has unzipped default bikes in the bikes folder? Because I have always had unzipped default bikes in my bikes folder and it doesn't give me any data mismatches on the Oldschool race servers.

I'm not sure but I knew that you do it ;). It shouldn't cause problems but I personally never do it. I create the necessary empty folders manually if I need them and leave the pkz files as they are. The files which you copy to the empty folders have priority over the ones in the pkz. That means you can do your changes without touching the original and in case of problems you can simply remove your folders for a test.
At the Oldschool servers only part of the MOD 2.05 is installed. If you want to test I can copy the complete MOD to the Oldschool server.
ATM I'm not sure what causes your problems.

Hi Dibu.
Just tried with default bikes "NOT_unzipped" and just kept the default bike folders with the paint folder/files only in the bikes folders, but I'm still getting data mismatches on the motonline servers.
If it's not too much trouble then please do put the whole bike mod 2.05 on one of the old school servers for a temp test.... I'll report back here with my results.
Appreciate your help on this Dibu. ;)
Hawk.
PS: Just thought I'd mention something that might be interesting..... Since not unzipping default bikes and when trying to connect with default bike, connection times have noticeably increased.
Hi Hawk,
now the complete MOD is installed at the Oldschool servers. Please test.
Try also the two new open servers 'Oldschool testX for Hawk_UK'

Hi Dibu..... Okay mate will do that now.
Thanks. ;)
Hawk.
Hi Dibu.
I'm getting "Data Mismatches" on Hawk_UK test servers 1 and 2, but I can connect okay with both Oldschool servers.
Hawk.
PS: Quite a long connection time to Old school Monzabike V3 server.
All four servers access the same bikes folder only difference is that the two new servers are 'open' like Ali's servers.
This means your GP1000, GP500 and GP250 bikes are ok. The problem must be in one of the other categories.
Please test now 'Oldschool test3 for Hawk_UK' (600/Chopper/GP1000/GP125/GP125 Cup/GP250)
and 'Oldschool test4 for Hawk_UK' (GP500/GP800/Scooter/STK1000/Supermoto)

Hi Dibu.
I'm getting a "Data Mismatch" on the Oldschool test 4 server, but I can connect okay to the Oldschool test 3 server.
Hawk.
Ok, next test.

Hawk.
Ok, now the final test. I bet your scooters are the problem. ;)
'Oldschool test3 for Hawk_UK' (GP800)

Hi Dibu.
Connected to: 'Oldschool test3 for Hawk_UK' (GP800) okay.
Got a "Data Mismatch" when connecting to: 'Oldschool test4 for Hawk_UK' (Scooter).
I'll have to download that scooter file from MEGA and see if it fixes the problem, but looks like you are correct Dibu. ;D 8)
I'll report back here and let you know what happens. ;)
Hawk.
PS: I presume the "Vespa_vpi" is the only scooter mod out? Never use them myself. LOL ;D

K... thanks. I'll replace both from the MEGA database. ;)
Hawk.
Hi Dibu.
You were SO correct! ;D
It was the scooter that was the problem.... I can connect to all servers now. ;D 8)
Thank you for all your help in sorting this problem out for me, and I'm sorry for causing you this extra work. :-[
My apoligies go also to Ali(motonline), and thanks also for his help today. ;)
Thanks Dibu.... Appreciated mate. ;) 8)
Hawk.
PS: I think I know why I missed that out on my last Bike MOD update. I was in a rush trying to update just before the oldschool race was due to start so I just downloaded what I needed to connect to the server instead of downloading the whole updated bike mod zip file as I usually do. Silly me! ::) :-[ ::)
My future moto on this will be: "If in doubt, just download and install all bike mods again". :)
Nice ;-)
No problems about me. Thanks Dibu for tests.
Maybe have a look on FTP synck for auto update.
Klax, if you read that... Again the same problem with mega or dropbox update.
Nice to hear that it works now. :)
@Peter - Oldschool servers are restored to the state before our tests.

Hi Ali.
Thanks mate. ;)
I can see the benefits of the FTP Sync in making sure all current Bike MOD version files are up to date, but personally I could never have peace of mind knowing that I have other important dev files in the same folder that
if something went wrong could be wiped clean. So thanks, but I'll be sticking with the MEGA Bike MOD update..... I'll just have to be more careful in future. :)
Hawk.
nice that its sorted hawk but you still get the long connection time to Monza v3? i really have problems getting into the oldschool one...it waits and waits. sometimes just core.s on me like Jerez seems to do.
That's strange Peter. I just tested and for me it takes 13 seconds for connecting to empty 'Oldschool MOD 2.05 FUN' or 'Motonline-fr 2 | Mod 2.05' (both identical times).

Hi Peter, thanks for that. ;)
Yes. I still get a rather long connection time, probably twice as long a connection time to connect to Monzabike V3 than other current tracked servers(something I particularly noticed today). I didn't know if it was just something that was happening today, or whether it was due to changing from NOT_unzipping my default bikes(until today I always had my default bikes unzipped in my bikes folder)? But I've never had a core.exe while connecting to a server with this track.
Jerez seems to connect okay for me..... Maybe it's just something different for each user depending on quality of connection at the time?
Hawk.
its oke now, deleted the 250 class from the server and now its fine.
I wait for next bikemod version to enable 250 class again.
I must admit i have been lazy as well to keep updated, only have/had 1000cc and 500cc installed.

I have to agree with Ali: with his ftp server and SyncBack, you would have known immediately what was wrong.
I stress the fact that you can configure SyncBack to
prompt you for any difference between your local files and the ftp files: this tells you exactly what's different and you can decide what to do (e.g. ignore or update).
I'm discussing with Ali one little issue he's facing at the moment (timestamp of files is screwed on the server), but once this detail is solved, his solution is clearly the best for both the players and the person in charge of maintaining the reference files (Klax or whoever).
Notice that if you really really don't want to use SyncBack (but honestly, I don't see why one wouldn't), you can still access the ftp with any ftp client (or even with a browser, but that's a bit clumsy).
MaX.
