Title: Problem with shadows when applying Photoshop created textures......
Post by: Hawk on December 13, 2014, 09:47:10 PM
This is a question for Piboso, but if anyone else knows what's happening here then please comment also. Thanks.

It seems that if I create a track surface texture using Photoshop filters and save them out as either a .TGA or a .BMP and apply the texture to the track surface material, then the shadows don't appear on the exported track.
If I take a photo of a road surface and apply that as a track surface texture, then the shadows appear as they should.....

My question is: Is this a bug, or am I doing something wrong here?

Thanks for any help and comments.

Are you saving them with an alpha channel?  AFAIK they won't receive shadows if they have an alpha channel.

Thank you! That solved the problem.  ;D

That'll teach me to keep checking the settings before I save. Lol

Thank you for your help Phathry25.... Very much appreciated.  ;) ;D
