very strange - been testing Hockenheimring track all afternoon with the 990, then after finishing my new skin for the GP10, i tried to change bike classes from GP1000 to GP800, and now core.exe crashes constantly.
i can't change to any other class, the instant i click on another bike class...crash!
what the heck?! ::)

try to join a open class server and click on "bike" (bottom of serverpage) when you have select the server.

i already fixed it by copy/pasting bike info from another profile into this profile.ini, and all sorted now - cheers anyway, mate - will keep your advice in mind for future reference ;)
