Title: Motorcycle Sound Simulator
Post by: doubledragoncc on July 24, 2015, 12:38:02 PM
Sorry to disturb anyone with my appearance here but thought this might help in some way to engine sound modding.

Heres the actual link to the youtube page, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s1h0DCReYPA (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s1h0DCReYPA) not sure if they are doing this still but is sounds so much better than the whine of most bikes in sims and games and may help modders if you can find the source of the video.

Just wanted to help

Last time I checked the company seemed dead.

Anyway, there are plenty of tools similar to that one, but they are all not free: Piboso would have to pay to integrate them in his sims. And in the end, most of the ones I've seen around still rely on ... GOOD SAMPLES :)

Nice to see you back up DD  :)

Sound 'staging' is the one really weak areas of GPB and it is so important. Try playing with the sound off completely and the game loses so much impact and feeling., completely changes the level of simulation.
I know its difficult to produce but some of the bike mods just do not work for me with the current sounds  :(

A better sound 'system' needs to be on the development list, both the in game atmospheric sounds and bike engine sound modelling.

It would be nice to have some of the mechanical rattles of the bike over bumps and sounds after the wheels hit the track from wheelies and lifting the rear. Maybe some tire squeal when sliding would be an assist as well.

+1 for tyre squeal, that shouldn't be too hard to nail down.

On the topic: have you guys seen the RevHeadz Engine Sounds app. I just played around with the free package on the Ipad (is also available on Android). Can't really judge if the sound is good or not, or if it's useful for GP-bikes...

Cheers,

Since Piboso apparently has the right to use them. Maybe... ;)

Nice to see the ulster track is still being developed  :)

Back to audio...

Noticed we do seem to have tyre 'skid' noises in game (not as noticeable in first person as on the third person video above), but they do not really help with gauging tire grip on the edge of skidding and you are past the point of 'saving it' in first person view before the skid audio kicks in. Could this feature be developed into a bit of 'squeal' as you get very close to the edge of a true skid?

Still quite a bit of that strange synth organ sound at high rpm though, seems to affect a lot of the mod sounds.

The sounds aren't mine, and that's the problem. If i have the confirmation they can be used in gpbikes, i could set most of the non crossplane inline 4 and inline 3 (maybe even 2 cylinder sounds as well). Only Piboso can answer this.
