Hello, I calculated the average consumption to make 18 tours of the race and I noticed that the 21 liters of the reservoir would not make the race.

18 tours = 25 Litres +-

1.4 Litres+- = 1 tours

15 tours = 21 Litres

I so that there is no problem the day of the race

thank you

Well spotted Yan!

My consumption is only 1.2 L/lap but then I am 4 seconds off your pace lol.

Does a different engine mapping help I wonder. Interesting.....

I use 1.20 per lap.
Just ride slower or take the risk to strand without gas ;)

well yes - another way is to open the gear ratios - substitute acceleration for fuel.
Innnteresting.....

Don't redline every gear also maybe? This bike has enough power anyway to shift up with 12k-15k rpm.

1.4L / lap the consumption with the full tank of gas is and the consumption reduces more the reservoir empties and on average I consume 1.34L / LAP.

But with a consumption of 1.2L / lap it is not possible to finish the race.
The maximum consumption is of 1.16L / lap to make 18 tours.

I am going to try several configurations so that the consumption is reduced.

Nick I hope you really enforce here to stay inside the lines and not going on the green. (2nd chicane)

I will lower the amount of laps if needed of course, but I find this very interesting to investigate. Personally I would like to see players working out how to ride a more tactical race rather than the flag to flag sprint races we always do.

As we have already seen, people are noticing the tyres are well worn in the last few laps of the race. All these things make it more interesting and more realistic I think.

I tried a few runs with different engine mapping but as yet I haven't noticed any fuel consumption differences. But the GP10 is odd in that it doesn't allow you to change the EM in the race like you can with other bikes. So....does the EM actually work properly on this bike??

With the help of MaxHUD, races can be so much more detailed - imagine MaxHUD telling you you had 5 laps of fuel left but there is actually 10 laps to go - so you change the EM to help. Awesome.  I know some might say that isn't what you can do on a real race bike but still it would make for some interesting stuff. MaxHUD showing tyre wear would also be awesome - if unrealistic.

Good work Yan I look forward to reading your results  8)

Everyone knows what is allowed and what isn't I hope. Deliberate cutting is cheating - no excuses.

All claims will be investigated.

To be sure - anyone who doesn't understand the term "track limits" get in touch.  :)

But in real life they also save fuel.

I'd say reduce the amount of laps.

Fuel will not be enough for me and I also noticed that after a few big high speed slides at the long right handers, even the extrahard tyres show significant wear (and heat).

But reduce it not too much, like 16 or 17 is okay for me.
15 too easy on the gas.

This is 10 laps on these tyres.
Extrahard should hold it if you sacrifice maybe some speed?

Boeren - yep good tyre info for people thanks. Why are you using Hard - Soft Assymetrical rear? Surely as most wear is on the right you should Soft-Hard ???

The issue I have with not reducing the laps to 15 is: Will it ruin peoples race and make them whine like a dog who lost his tail? When they run out of fuel because they don't understand how to manage it ??  (I don't know for sure how effective fuel saving methods in race will be in this game) We have a broad spread of people here and my main aim is to provide a fun race.

16 laps would be my choice - just over the edge of normal consumption probably just needing a little conservation. But everyone running out just before the finish line will make for a tide of angry protest even if I would find it funny personally (maybe not if I was in the lead tho >:()

I will go run some more tests...... ;D

Post by: Napalm Nick on July 28, 2015, 02:38:40 PM
OK so going normal I get 1.36L/lap
Fuel saving by shifting up between 15-16k brings fuel/lap down to just 1.16L/Lap at the expense of laptime of course

further saving can be made by 'lift and coast' expense of laptime of course

all round fuel saving can be made by raising drivetrain/gear ratios to keep revs down expense of laptime of course

Interesting 15 or 16 laps boys?

I would say 15, because with the "windbreak" fuel consumption get up  :-\

Slipstream - interesting point.

You could use that to be pulled along at half throttle though to save fuel too hehe
Title: Re: GPBikes Owners Club | GP800 NDS CHAMPIONSHIP | Race 4
Post by: yan24 on July 28, 2015, 05:32:09 PM
I tried a lot of configuration to save some fuel and the way of saving up is to lower(to go down) the times of 2 or 3 seconds to tours even more and feel(smell) changing my stopwatches the economy is of 0.05L / lap+-

If we fall in a tour the consumption increases of 0.07L / lap - and with the full tank of gas the motorcycle consumes the more and the more the reservoir empties and less it consumes.

We can save tires more easily than gas consumption.

15 lapses is very good decision because many pilots are not going to finish the race and after this championship we could make a long-distance race with for purpose make a long distance that to make of stopwatches.

let's go racing and not save such a nonsense as gasoline.
round go much gasoline will bear on and off.

Thanks Yan you have done some good work.

I think for the sake of simplicity we will go 15 laps this time (and no more nonsense lol). Endurance races still to come anyway.

Race changed to 15 laps

The midweek race changes to give everyone a chance to join. But there is a calendar here (http://forum.piboso.com/index.php?topic=2471.msg35984#msg35984) of ALL events and individual count down timers in the first post  (http://forum.piboso.com/index.php?topic=2511.msg36629#msg36629) AND it is in the "Whats ON this week thread" (http://forum.piboso.com/index.php?topic=2376.msg33730#msg33730) , what more should I do ???

another shit event for me. bike just seemed alien and would not stay upright going into spasms and throwing itself in the air during qually and the race.
So frustrating I spend a lot of time practicing and do top ten laptimes then it always crumbles on race day.

Stagefright? Could be also I am not so settled getting the show ready and always checking the forum up to the last minute etc. Damn frustrating  :'(

I enjoyed it but I played alone XD (I did not fall, except in the last two laps because I was bored lol)

As mentioned in the chat, I had again the drop frame, this time I crashed at 2 fps departing (I apologize to those who have obstructed) and then pretty normal except for some freeze.

Despite the framerate, I could not drive well enough, only three seconds slower than the practice ... I'm sorry for this problem because I would have liked a bit of struggle with Teeds and nick.  ;D
