All Piboso servers seem to be down: GPB, KRP, WRS and MXB, both web and game/stats servers.

@Matty: don't count too much on those 10E :) Not yet at least.

The hard disk drive of the master server is a goner.
Please have patience... The operative system must be reinstalled, configured, then the needed software installed, configured, and then the backups restored, data updated, servers restarted...

Happened to me with the GPBOC server when I went away too! Nightmare.

I blame all this GPB next gen physics  ;)

Update.
Unfortunately, even the replacement disk failed. It seems that it's the motherboard to blame.
Tomorrow the dedicated server will be moved to a new PC.

Glad to hear that the problem was identified and that it wasn't a total loss! Will we need to register our license keys again or has all the information been retained? Thanks for the update, PiBoSo!

There are daily backups.
All info has been saved, except for a few licenses sold between the last backup and the crash.

Good news. 8)

Do you have any idea of a time for the servers being back please?

In 2 hours we hope to have the next round of our championship I would like to know if we should cancel for tonight if possible so I can tell the participants.   :-\

An update: the new machine has been setup and all the data restored: http://stats.gp-bikes.com/records.php
Now the "only" task left is to recompile, upload and start the master servers.

The master server is back up.
Please report if everything is working correctly.
As an added twist, the system is now 64 bits!
A partial rewrite of the code was needed to port the master servers from x86 to x64.

Agree with what Dibu says here Piboso.... Well done for what could not have been an easy job to sort out. Thank You!  ;D 8)

Hawk.
PS: Does "64 bit" mean it will run faster and more efficient now?

Not really. The master server uses very little memory and handles very little data.

All seems fine here.

LOL..... I have GPB on 64 bit too in the hope that it runs better and more efficient.  ;D

I love my 64 bit world Max.  ;D

That's like putting a "Turbo" sticker on a fiat panda and hope it  goes faster.
Actually the sticker is probably more effective :)

I'm having a problem when I try to see the world servers:

I get an "Invalid login. Please register" message.

I have done a fresh install of GPB and entered my license key..... anyone know what's happening?

Hawk
PS: Thought it may have something to do with the main server crash so I posted this here.  ;)

Are you sure your nickname is exactly right - not just the profile name?

Sorry egg sucking no doubt  ::)

Oooops!! I think you may have a point there. I originally registered my name as "Hawk_UK", when I reinstalled I created the first profile as "Hawk", then realised I need to create my original profile as "Hawk_UK" but I forgot to change the nickname section too..... I think? I'll take a quick look and get back to you on this one.  :-\

EDIT: Yeah. You were exactly right Nick! I had left my nickname as "Hawk" and it should have been "Hawk_UK" as I originally registered with. Thanks for the reminder!  ;D 8)
