Gd morning! Reading through the daily development.. What is shared tyres?
My guess would be supermoto related maybe? Also interested to know :)
I think due to recent circumstances it is a new PiBoSo company incentive to cut development costs by up to 50%
I was wondering this too. But who got whos?
Gpb gets MXB new tyres or MXB get GPB old tyres ::) :P
I want knobbly bobblies on my NS500!
Sorry Knobbly BoB, hopefully your serious question doesn't get overlooked. ::)
Lol I am clueless.. I thought something like using scrubbed tyres but we already can..
Maybe when using limited sets, we can share if somebody runs out? Lol
I like the humour over here :D.. It's really mssing over on the MXB board :(
Guess that's the road bikers attitude summed up, lovely bunch of people :P

We're a miserable bunch really ;D
Always complaining or fighting :P
Supermoto isn't for nothing IMO ;D
Anyway, all tyres simulations (at least for PiBoSo) are based on the Pacejka magic formula so no real reasons to have different file structures in long term. :)

Maybe, but what for ? A SM with motogp tyres ? Sounds un-pibosesque :)

As far as I know, there are some differences in the formulas between bikes and kart/cars tyres. Also, MXB tyres should have some extra stuff (bulldozing effect etc).

SM tyres are kind of slick tyres, usually looking like this :

Supermoto tyres are closest to GPB tyres than actual MXB tyres, even if some MXB "cross" tyre structure should be implemented on those "slick" tyres to fit perfectly MXB. That's probably why PiBoSo decided to unify those two file formats.
Of course all of what I'm saying is pure supposition, only PiBoSo can confirm everything ;D

It would be interesting for Piboso to elaborate further on this. However if I'm not mistaken, I'm sure Piboso did say in the past(correct me if I'm wrong on this Piboso) that the SuperMoto bike would be better suited to MXB rather than GPB so.....??

That Piboso vid posted is not showing the SuperMoto bike in action in GPB, it's in WRS, Matty. :P ;D
Hawk.
You sure about that Hawk? Looks like MXB to me ;D

Yeah... You could well be right there Deste! ;D
Didn't know that MXB had hard roads? Thought it was a motocross sim?

I beginning to think I belong in a different era, I tell ya! :P
But MX is dirt racing.... SuperMoto is dirt and track?!
What is the world coming to[Old duffer shaking his head]!! Hehe.
In my day.... Blah, blah, blah..... LOL! ;D

Answer from Piboso (from MXB forum):
QuoteIt means that all the MX bikes will share the same tyre physics and models, making work easier for modders and during development.
Thanks Max, well sniffed out.
nice one! ;)
anyway.... Ride height and triple clamp offset!!! 8)
will these settings make a visual difference i wonder?

Hard to spot a few mm just looking at the bikes.

yeah but what about more than a few mm? ;D if you jack up the rear and drop the front, that should be very obvious.
Oh, but that already happens as far as I know, no ?
If you edit the geom (e.g. change where the front fork joins the chassis), you see that in game.

oh ok, you mean in the files?
either way, to have all these settings will (hopefully) open up some good handling differences.. Rake and trail should make a huge difference to how the bike handles.. with ride height and offset on the way (on top of all the other settings that affect rake/trail) im excited to try!! hopefully we get an adjustable (in garage settings) steering damper too! ;D that will be important for very low rake/trail settings imo.

Little test exaggerating the values of the Aprilia RSW500 (which, BTW, has the swing arm pivot setting working fine).

On the bottom pic it looks like a drag racer ;D
Nice did you ride it? what do i change to raise, lower?

No I didn't, as the values were way too far from acceptable ones. The pivot adjustment on a bike is no more than a few mm in each direction I think. In the example I added +/- 20cm, but just to show that the change in the .geom has a visual impact.
