Title: GSVR files
Post by: doubledragoncc on January 26, 2016, 11:13:25 PM
Hi guys, has anyone got a copy of the GSVR from Juju they could send me?

I lost 25 years of designs and work plus 2 TB over the holidays and trying to get some back.

Thanks if you can help as it is no longer available in Juju's links.

I feel for ya mate.... As you know, I know what it's like to loose work data. Was it a HDD gone down or a virus? I know my lose of data really made me realise the importance of regular backups and backups in different places too, it's not going to happen to me again.....

About the GSVR; I'm wondering if Matty may have an old copy from the old beta 6 bikeMOD database? Or even Klax may still have copies of the old bikes somewhere?

Hope you get your data back mate... If it's a HDD problem I presume your trying a data recovery programme to try and retrieve lost data? There's a decent programme from the same company that provides CCleaner.... "Recover" I think it's called.

Anyway, I hope you get things sorted mate. Good luck!  ;) :-\

To allthanks DOC had a copy on dropbox so I got it now TY again DOC.

@Hawky

Dude I have loads of pro recovery software but it took 8 DAYS of continuous work to transfer found files all named "FOUND" to only 250GB of disk space I had left and sort out what to keep, by the end of 8 days and nights I only got 20% back as had no more space to save it and then the 2TB drive got the click of death and died a painful death!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Its the pics of my kids and some of the custom bikes I built that hurt most, even Smooth, Santana's Harley is mostly gone. All happened because of a bad WIN10 install backing up to the wrong drive and wiping it clean..................Microsoft you SUCK BALLS!!!!!!

ANYWHO................just trying to rebuild my software again, gonna take a few months at least.

Thanks to all for help btw

Edit ty Klax you posted as I was typing this lol. Yours is for beta7 but bad stand, DOC's is newer and works fine in 7 just tested them both. Thanks for it though bro. Much appreciated

Here is a link for anyone else that wants it with a lot of paints too.

For a absolutely dead HDD I can only suggest that there are companies that can take your dead HDD apart and put the HDD discs in another device that will be able to recover or access the vital data on them for you. I haven't a clue how much it costs to do that though.  :-\

@Hawk,

I know mate but do you know what they charge, I could buy a new bike for that lol. But seriously it is VERY expensive, I will keep the drive and see if I can get another the same and then find a clean room and right tools to do it. I know how its just the right tools and place. And a spare drive lol

1,000 Euros!! WHaaaa!  :o
Those companies are a rip-off aren't they..... I'm sure the work involved doesn't cost those companies anywhere near that much.... They are really taking the piss!  :o

They are expensive but you have to realize the actual physical work involved, the parts and time and specialized tools used. Just opening a drive to the disc plate will kill it beyond any recovery. Head alignment is so frikin precise etc etc. It is no 5 in job. Even I would be weary of trying it and I dont scare easy lol. It is just one of those bastard jobs that really is for sterile controlled environments only. Dont think its like adjusting the points on a Triumph with rollie papers lol.
