Hi all,
pissed off by AMD drivers, I ditched my 7950 for a GTX 970. Question: is Shadowplay working for you in GPB/MXB/KRP/WRS ?
It isn't for me (while it works in other games).
MaX.
Has never worked for me in MXB mate, in fact let down by MSI Afterburner of recent I've been using the Windows 10 game bar which has background recording ability.. It's just a pain to set up and a bit temperamental!
Damn, Shadowplay can capture OpenGL games only if the the game runs in windowed mode ::)
What's your problem with MSI Afterburner ? Works very well for me (and it can use NVidia's GPU encoder, just like Shadowplay).
Recently I tested OBS (https://obsproject.com/ (https://obsproject.com/)) and it seemed to be a tad better in terms of FPS drop (at least on my previous 7950 card).
But it's a bit more complex to setup than MSI AB (as OBS can do complex stuff for streaming).
I used ShadowPlay the other day to record my last video, works fine for me with MXB in full screen. MSI was working fine too last time I used it.
What problems are you guys getting?

Weird, here it says it only work for openGL if windowed: http://www.geforce.com/geforce-experience/faq (http://www.geforce.com/geforce-experience/faq)
For me it simply doesn't start the recording (I don't even see the FPS indicator that shadowplay can put on screen).
I can see it in other (non-OpenGL) games.
I don't use any indicators but I just found some instructions that said turn it on, enable desktop mode, launch Open GL game and I then hit alt+F10 to save the last 5 mins of recording. Only way I know it's working is because it pauses game play for 1/2 second while it saves the file. Not tried starting or stopping recording while playing though.
I'd seen that FAQ too and hence started using MSI, but have recently read on random forums that it works with anything, so re-visited it.
Hmmm, I'll try enabling the desktop mode thing. Thanks !

What's your problem with MSI Afterburner ?
It's a weird one. I used it for months and months, and then all of a sudden I started getting really strange jerky tearing in all my recordings. No updates (that I'm aware of) at the time of it happening.
Strangely, a month later my HD died and I had to replace it and did a completely fresh install. Same problem.. Laptop is MSI too, not that it probably makes a spec of difference. :(
Windows Xbox app does the job, and I don't accidentally record 40 minutes of L3DT or Sketchup as I have done in the past using Afterburner lol (no wonder my HD died eh?)..
You also have to activate Windows Aero to record the Desktop with Shadowplay.
Then put GP Bikes in (borderless) windowed mode, I suggest 'Borderless Gaming' for this task.

Wow, too much hassle. I'll just go with AB (or OBS).
Can OBS capture in constant framerate?

Can OBS capture in constant framerate?
Yes (even if using Nvidia's NVENC I think). But I think it's the case for most video capture software.
Excellent. Going to install OBS, then.

Just this ^^^
Can't remember if I tried it in Win 7.
