Hi guys
So I dove in the deep end today and although it was the wrong year bike I loved the old Rothmans Honda's so I did my first try at an actual race livery.
There is one for Doohan #1 and Gardener #4 and my own #63 lol
Hope 2 of you at least like one lol

Dont forget it is my first attempt so the lines are not perfect yet.
This looks awesome mate!!
i might go for the Doohan one for the race at sunday! :D
HUGE DOOHAN FAN!
My first livery so is pretty bad lines. Will get better but kinda rushed it out for the race.

Looks great DD, no worries! :D
Fucking hell dd that looks cool.
Brill I think that needs an auction ;)
Aww thanks guys but I just rushed it so the lines are real cack lol.
At least I got the idea now how to do it hehe
DD
Beautiful work!! ;)
Very Nice work DD... I like it ! ;D 8)
Hawk.
Great work!
Thanks guys. It is so hard to get where a line flows on the bodywork, especially the tank. It is not like masking a tank off in real life lol.
I had an idea about if there could be actual sticker kits to simply use and then saw a video of GT Sport that looks just like it has it in the new game!!!
It would be so good if Pib added a better viewing system for GPB.
This is really a WIP as I need to clean it up but was impatient to get it done.
Hopefully Manu will make a NSR500 with the older body so the livery fits the bike lol.

Is there distortion in the render compared to a line your painting? If so then that is because their is a problem with the UV map.
You should be able to paint lines around the curves of the tank and fairing etc without any distortions appearing in the final render if the UV's have been mapped and adjusted. ;)
Hawk.
I am not using the UV as I am crap with Photoshop so have been using Corel photopaint and just doing plain tga paints lol.
I need to sit down and learn PS WHEN I get time lol.
Thanks for the advice bro.

You call him Gardener because he was falling a bit too often or it's a honest typo ? :)

If you painted the bike in any way shape or form then you have been painting the UV maps(Often people call them Paint templates, but they are UV maps), and you can use any paint programme to paint them; it's just easier in Photoshop or Gimp if you know what your doing. ;D
Hawk.
Take you base paint, overlay a grid (or use the UV map if you have it) and then create a paint, you can then take a few stills in the showroom to see where the paint lines should go.
Like this :)

Thanks H,
I know how to do it in theory it is the program I do not know. :'(

+1 for gimp - its free 8) , I am in the same boat and learning paints from scratch but their seems to be a tutorial for everything :)
But if you can get the hand of 'paste new layer' and 'flatten image' thats the start :D layers in general make for easy compositing of images

Paths are great for smoothing out jagged edges on cut images

I think most concepts are common to all packages
I have been having a practice with some made up track day schemes :)
