I'm wondering if it wouldn't be much trouble to ask Piboso to add animations for a rider highside and vertical movement of the rider's body from the seat when the bike goes over a bump. Currently the animations are very stale.
+1, especially for highside animation, something i'm sure i'll make good use of, lol :D
I don't know why these features have not yet been added. Falling is currently such a boring experience. It would be nice to be able to fall from a first-person perspective and for either a rag-doll-physics animation system or a greater variety of preset animations to be added.
I think having the core crashes fixed and netcode etc etc are far more important than animations guys. P has enough to do without thinking about Milestone type gimmicks to make us happy
DD
true, DD, of course the basic stuff needs to be done properly before any 'eye-candy' type things, although that being said, i do find that highsides seldom, if ever, occur in the sim, at least for me - usually when the back end goes, it goes - very rarely do i even manage to get it back myself, and considering a high-side is probably much more common of all the on-track incidents, i'd think it should be better represented.
kind of defeats the object of having a 'wishlist/suggestion' section, if we are going to have the harsh realities shoved in our faces, lol ;D

Dude, if Piboso had the ability to fix the Networking issues, I think he would have done it by now. My understanding is that people have been complaining about netcode for a very long time. In the mean time, such features which you call gimmicks, would really add to the atmosphere of GPB. These aren't gimmicks. These are functional components of any decent motorcycle game/sim. It seems the vast majority of the time people spend playing GP Bikes is offline anyway, and that gets really boring when such features are missing. It's the reason for people becoming jaded about GPB.
Well maybe if you tried racing online it would not be so boring!!!
DD
Lol.
Hey I got ya laughin at least lol
DD
GP Bikes is not boring.

Does not get boring. But we're talking about ways to make GP Bikes a better game. There's no sense in trying to prevent progress, in whichever form it comes.
What Ulster version it is? When i play here with the v0.6, in the fast corner (to 1:02) i see a black hole, between the asphalt and the grass :-\
Got it here: http://forum.piboso.com/index.php?topic=3347.0 (http://forum.piboso.com/index.php?topic=3347.0)
While better rider animations would be nice, at the moment I'd rather see PiBoSo make the falling/crashing animation worse by completely disabling the (completely flawed) lowside detection.
That way we won't have our races/laps ruined by a stupid bug.
Still, it does look funny:

...+1 on the helmet cam staying when crashing instead of switching to third person view.
Personally I'd have things like crash cams in the option settings so that people can decide for themselves what view they prefer when a rider crashes. :)

Of course. It has to be an option. But it's an option I know a lot of us will love. Seeing yourself flying off your bike in first person view, or sliding across the asphalt at 200kmh (with helmet-shake and everything) is something which will really add to immersion. If it's rag-doll-physics based (slightly rigid body) that would be even better.
I think the highside animation looks pretty realistic...

But really i'd rather my rider stopped jumping off the bike mid corner before there's any work on animations.

exactly, but piboso does not really seems to care (http://forum.piboso.com/index.php?topic=3103.465).
Can you repeat that on the default stock bike/s and post the video? That would spark Piboso's interest for sure, even if he doesn't acknowledge it. ;)

What does this mean?

Yeah, why not spamming the forum with 1000 more messages about a topic that was already discussed? ::)

Aah, now that you're here... Mind telling us if you envision the addition of the a more varied set of rider crash animations :)?

If I remember correctly, you said you will be working on a fixed lowside detection algorithm, problem is that this was months ago.
That is why I suggested a quick temporary fix that simply disables the lowside detection until you've figured out how to do it correctly.
I haven't gotten an answer from you on this suggestion.

It will be integrated in Beta9.
I wouldn't keep bringing up this topic if it wasn't extremely urgent (as you can tell by the video examples).
I know that you are very busy with KRP at the moment, that's why I don't expect you to come up with a new lowside detection (that doesn't rely on the rider's position) in the immediate future.
But simply disabling this subroutine shouldn't take more than a few minutes and it would improve the user experience significantly (even if it may look a bit funny).
If this is not the case and it is in fact not that easy, just tell me and I will patiently wait for beta9 and its new lowside detection.

Well what side of the bed did you get up this morning Piboso? ::)
I think the word "spamming" is a bit harsh don't you think when all I was trying to do was to get people to show bugs that are in your actual stock bikes and not from a bikeMOD that could well be an issue with the bike author and not a fault with GPB? ::)
But if you have already given assurances that this issue will be dealt with in due time then why do these guys keep posting and posting about it and accusing you of ignoring the issue?
Also, don't you think your time would've been better spent and more constructive to have posted the link to that said discussion(if it's so easily available to people who keep posting about this issue) rather than accusing me of spamming. ::)

Unfortunately no patch for Beta8 is planned.
ok.
