Aprilia will return to the MotoGP™ World Championship as a factory entrant in 2016, it has been announced by parent company Piaggio.

The news came on Tuesday during the EICMA bike show in Italy.
"In 2016, Aprilia will return to MotoGP™ with the goal of winning and discovering the same success we have enjoyed in World Superbikes," commented Roberto Colaninno, CEO of Piaggio. "
The Italian marque was last part of the World Championship as a factory team in 2004.
