Sorry to you both but nothing changed server side and we saw the laps on the Best Laps page updating while I was there riding with you.

Maybe if anyone knows if anything specific causes this to happen they can let us know.  Maybe it stops when the Admin leaves or sommat?             There are plenty of threads about it stopping sometimes so hopefully just a glitch.  ::)

I will reset the servers this morning its all I can do.  :-\

As far as the Race goes, pre-qualification is not taken from the Best Laps server (like the championships are) so it doesn't affect anything other than your pride  ;D

And I did a 1.44.8 for the record....... :P

..and there i was thinking my 0:50:1 was a good time, lol - not too bad for keyboard, anyway, lol -
however - Disaster has struck!  >:(  this morning my gaming rig just emitted one continuous beep when i tried to start it. figured it might be a RAM issue, so changed the sticks out, got rid of the beep, but now she's not booting at all - no BIOS screen, nada -
looks like i'm gonna be spending the weekend doing tech repairs, dam.....
anyhoo - 50.1, keyboard, well chuffed with meself.
that might be as good as it gets for me this weekend, if i can't get my rig up and running again soon.....woe... :(

Oh man, disaster. :'(

50 is bloody good mate especially with a keyboard. Only 47s here.

I wish you a lot of luck fixing it: reseat all components, hoover out the spider webs, one RAM stick at a time, hit it with a hammer etc.

Keep us informed  ;)

a question re: the weather, while i'm browsing this morning - it seems you/we use the current/ real weather conditions for the races, is that correct?
so, in the case of say, a historical race, would we rather be using the current or the historical race weather?
just curious....  :)

Hi Cape,
Using real weather is a suggestion on the suggestions list which will be implemented where appropriate at some races.
Fortunately today's weather reflects the, how shall we say, ' race intentions'.  Lol.
The whole wet weather racing thing is still a bit 'Beta Infantile'.
Today's weather report is more for 'atmosphere'' but don't tell anyone.  :D

cool, thanks mate - i know my attempts with the RGV at Mallory in the wet were....abysmal, to say the least....  :)
it does seem like maybe some more physics coding work is required for wet conditions....  8)

Did you have wet tyres on?
When we were doing the start test with Nick the weather caught most of us out and we found ourselves on slicks in the wet and it was like riding on ice, but I know from past experience that on a wet track, so long as you have wet tyres on the bikes(the good bikeMODS) are good so long as you know how to ride in the wet(no sudden movements and smooth throttle and brake actions are needed).  ;)
The 500cc GP Bikes are in need of a good bike physics file(wet or dry), but Alone is working on it and hopefully they are coming soon.  ;)

Hawk.

lol - quite right, Hawk - the first few laps i did in the wet were on slicks, before i finally realised and switched to wets - the difference was immediately noticeable, so the wet weather riding might not be as bad as i made out - unfortunately, my mobo kicked the bucket after that last session, now i have to wait a few days before i can have another go.
ah well....  ;D

OK Taranta it would be a shame if you miss out!

We use the Resume function on server so please try to make a qually lap in time if possible or it may not be possible to run.

However don't crash trying to get home either we can always race this again  ;)

Well done Hezio and Taranta for the podium :) (really bad luck for Bob whatever happened)

Really enjoyed this race, people was good at giving space and taking care of eachother :)

WELL DONE EVERYONE!!!!

Personally I'm very disappointed with the failure of the RESUME function to work with just 13 players.  I meticulously tested it just half hour before our sessions tonight with 4 people and all was fine.  :'(

We will not use it again until the netcode (I assume) shows significant improvement I think.  >:(

Apologies to Malve who never got to start because of a Core.exe - "still ruining races 4 years on". some old hand said.

I would like to hear from every rider who left as to why? Cores? Rage quits? In the hope I can improve things

For me the race was not good becase I was mad at the Cores and red mist blighted my ride lol.  I will try not to feel guilty about coming 7th or whatever due to other peoples misfortunes.

Congrats to the podium and Meyer, the winner.!

And more than anything, thank you to all the members who support this  :) let us hope the next is better. All suggestions welcome.

I had so much pressure not knowing how far back you was and after my first crash i thought that you would get past for sure!
Would have been great if you could have started on first row and we could have had a prober fight!

I am sorry Bob I was hoping to make it fun for everyone.  This should not be typical of future events as we will not try the RESUME again (maybe after Beta 7 we can try if anyone wants to put themselves through the pain).
I hope you come for more frustrations at the next event lol.

What a beautiful race. Great battle with HEZIO. He is so talented rider. And Meyer :D He was so intelligent with his riding plan. I was pushing last 3-4 laps but no way to catch him. Saw 4 seconds gap on last lap and I said f.ck it's enough for me..

Thanks Captain Nick for making us this organization !
Thank you guys for let us overtake you.
Nice podium for me really happy with it. :D
Congrats all the riders especially Meyer and Hezio :D

Firstly.... congrats to Meyer for his first win! Well done mate!  ;D 8)

It was a fun event, marred by core.exe crashes for others(not me personally), and for me personally riders respawning right in front of me causing me to crash many times. Not the fault of the riders - the rider respawn point really needs to be sorted out or, once you crash your out of the race, one or the other. It didn't help with Mallory being such a short circuit in that there was heavy traffic all the time, so no real chance of waiting for a good clear spot to respawn.

I do wish Piboso would sort out the engine sound drowning problem too. Causes me no end of problems on the 2 stroke bikes(4 strokes don't seem to be that bad comparing).

All in all I had fun which is the main thing, but I think a bigger circuit will suit better until the rider spawn issue and core.exe's have been solved.

Thank you Nick for organising these fun events.... You've done a great job tonight mate and I can't wait for the next event!  ;D

One positive is that if you take away all the 'cores' due to the RESUME function try-out, then there was only poor MALVE who missed out tonight.

Its great for the guys that didn't had problems but frustrating for the others. I hope Nick and PeterV keep motivated until these problems can be fixed. Then, i'll be there for sure.

Warlock and Alone,

thanks for your comments they are very kind and it is much appreciated input from the original members.

I will do my best, I feel suffocated being unable to assist development, so I will try to use the tools we have to bring some fun while my enthusiasm is high and I am not irritated to the Core (geddit  ::))

Like I say, 99% of the Cores last night were because I wanted to try-out the Resume function (again). 1% were during the restarted 'just bloody race' event hehe! Not too bad I guess. Time will tell.

It makes me sad to hear dampened spirits of you guys n gals who see the same problems unresolved year by year and have battled to do the best with the broken tools available many times before. Like old warriors, I expect you can fight again once the motivation is re-kindled!

I hope so, anyway, I sure would love to see you back on the battlefields.

Nick.

No disrespect intended to anyone, and I know this is only fun racing, but what's the logic behind placing a rider who quits a race above a rider who finishes the race? I think you need to look at the Classification data again Nick.  Lol  ;)

Oh my! Controversy at the first race! Now I will have to make a decision and be loathed  :'(

Hey that's a good point though Hawkster, I'm not surprised you are calling me a c*ck. I just looked at the classification and went with it.
I now have fears other people may have been disadvantaged by evil rage-quitters too.

I suppose the argument is that although Bob rage-quitted with just one lap to go (shame on you Bob) he still did more laps than most of us by the time the leader finished (obviously going too fast).  ???

Now I have to decide if the rage-quit-didn't-finish crime is severe enough to overturn the points ruling even though us mortals wouldn't of gained a higher position if he had finished. And if sanctioned what is the penalty? Points doctored/Maybe ride a scooter the next event?

Hmm I'm not good at confrontation I want to hear from the defendant god help his guilty soul.
And anyone else who thinks they should be higher too.  :-[

In the mean time I will review the incriminating video Big Brother evidence!

Personally I would make it simple.
Anyone who has an unfortunate core.exe or, quits the race before it's conclusion  will result in a non-race classification placement with zero points.

This way it will prevent quitters from claiming a core.exe and gaining any points you previously may have been thinking of awarding core.exe victims in compensation for their bad-luck.
Riders should look on the current possible core.exe crash as just that, "a crash"; a bike crash that you cannot recover from and continue riding. This can happen to anyone of us, but we'd all know the result above.

The argument about some quitters have done more laps than others in the race than those who didn't quite doesn't hold in my book simply because those that were several laps behind the quitter don't get the chance to finish the rest of their laps once the race is deemed over. Plus the fact that quitters should not be rewarded in any way.  :P  :)

Reasoning that makes sense and is same and fair to all I think.

After a sleepless night of deliberation, and after reading other posts on the matter (passionate explosions of contempt lol) I think it is only right to stay in line with the championships and other racing in the name of simplicity.

Hawks suggestion is upheld.  The Rulebook has been amended to reflect this with the addition of Article 12.

In the name of everything sportsmanlike I will not be amending the first race results.

I ask all parties to take the ruling 'on the chin' please.

And I leave you with a quote  ;D lol

Did i really have 1 lap to go?? wow i thought i was about half way through lol.

Everytime we restarted the race, when i spawned on the grid i got core.exe... everytime! so quickly restart the game and jump back on the grid just in time.. then after all that the qually results were scrapped and it was a random free for all.. i know its a fun event and the first try by nick, but.. i put alot of effort in practicing too! Im not complaining.. believe me, i just had a stinker and lost interest to carry on at the time. If id have realized i had 1 lap to go.............. lol ooops  ::)

anyway, looking forward to the next event  8)

Are you sure you were looking for your pit boards as your bike was passing the pit wall and not the start line? Because at Mallory the actual start/finish line is set well back from were the pits start.

Yeah could be a bug with all the server testing that was happening? But obviously not a common bug if you know what I mean?
Or maybe with you getting that core.exe and re-joining just before start?

But I definitely saw my pit board in the race because I was counting down the laps and how far behind I was. Lol

Anyway the pit board race data is there so it should work for all like it did for me. Unfortunately there is nothing more I can do to help. Sorry guys.

Yes... I get unexplained FPS drops at times too on some circuits. Maybe just netcode needs sorting out or something similar.... Let's hope for Beta 7(Fingers Crossed).  ;)

Looking at the results i see the RSW500 is abit more behind then it should be...... ;)
Fighting against the +40hp NSR,YZR,RGV is not easy.
To be honest the RSW500 could be better with corrected physics but will be outperform the 93-95 bikes.
In my opinion it should be better to stick with the NSR,YZR,RGV and Varese (C593) only.
This grid will look more close to real....4 different manufacturers and same physics.
Why did noone used the Varese?

I like your championship but for me it´s the same situation as Alone.
Not enough time... :-\ :'(

Hoepfully the cores will be vanished with the upcoming B7.
Cores and the jumping bikes (in my opinion due to the netcode) are the main reason i don´t race online.

Keep up your really good work guys.

My truly problem is the lag, as it is my situation from B1 (changed PC, internet company, etc. in the meantime). I have few time too, but with a (HOPEFULL) new netcode maybe I can do FINALLY a couple of races :)

 Lol, a lonely wolf :D
I use to have that ping (360+-), but the troubles comes when more than 6 players are in the room (till B4 the problems comes with 4, so something is better). I did 3 complete championships with that trouble and no one (including me) were much happy with the situation :) . I'll try for sure with B7, or I'll make a sidecar mod to race with someone else lol
