Title: Custom handlebar 6 axis rig
Post by: Jay Dee Hell on February 18, 2023, 02:27:14 PM
Hello, I present to you my homemade handlebar on a TS-XW Thrustmaster base.
This handlebar has three axes (accelerator, front brake and clutch) with cables connected to a set of pedals with modified springs.
My second set of pedals (at my feet) are up/down gears and rear brake
my simulation platform is Dof reality H6 site link: https://dofreality.com/#h6
Here is the first test in VR: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4uZQ6Dp_GNw
After the test, I added a stabilizer bar, because too flexible (see pics)You cannot see attachments on this board.

Welcome to the life of never ending upgading and making it better lol. Once you start you cant stop.

Thanks for sharing and great use of the wheel unit from TM. Its how I started with an old G25 back in the day.

Looks like you need to change the rotation amount to get it so the bars on screen match those of the rig. It really helps. On G25 had it at 40 degrees and was perfect. Play around and it really makes a difference.

Or turn the Direct Lean in settings of GPBikes to 100%

I only tried it in 2010 with G25 so newer wheel units will be different. Did the same with the pedals before I started making all myself. Hydraulic brakes are a game changer lol.

This was my first video 2010...............how time flys lol

Love DOF by the way. Talked a lot with them about a custom motion unit using my frames.

Look forward to more videos and hope my advice helped in some way. Just ask if you need anything.

Thanks again, I forgot to mention that in the construction of my handlebars, I included a system with two nuts (one mobile and the other fixed) and therefore I can easily switch from racing mode to tourist mode and the reinforcement bar can also be adapted
And yes the Dof reality platforms are good and with the SFU gearbox upgrade, they promise between 25/50% more movements which makes leaning and wheeling more realistic, but also has a cost of $1,200

I hope one day to show you
